I’ll be real with you chief, this shit genuinely scares me. Like I get it’s interesting and all that but I’m just thinking that one day, one of these things will be “alive” and it’ll be unable to do anything other then be alone with its thoughts, incapable of ending its own suffering as it slowly dies from its malformed existence.

Pick up only one of the following: Logic, Reaper, FL, or Ableton - and then look up some tutorials on whichever one you choose. These are called DAWs (Digital Audio Workstation) and they all serve the same function as each other, so you don't need more than one. The choices listed are simply different price-brackets, Ableton is my DAW of choice, but its the most expensive, buuut it also includes the most comprehensive built-in list of effects and instruments out of the four DAWs mentioned. Then, think of a genre you want to make, and just like when learning to draw, look up some references! Look up videos on YouTube about the genre you wish to create, watch what they do, emulate it, spend time learning the DAW, get familiar with Automation, learn how tracks and busses operate with each other, don't just copy!! DON'T neglect mixing and mastering either, but only concern yourself with that when you're feeling a bit more confident in the basics of song-making and composing!
