I had planned to do something totally different with my day but instead I made a whole bunch of pride birds! I plan to put them on Redbubble asap.

Urban fantasy
Play as an experienced conjurer working as a forensic necromancer. Investigate an unusual crime scene that holds more than you bargained for after a run in with the Chosen One brings back faces from your past you’d much rather forget. Solve magical crimes, guide (or try to avoid) the chosen one, explore the magical Otherworld and deal with a prophecy you were never meant to be a part of.
- Play as a man, woman or as nonbinary.
- Choose from 5 ROs, all available to any gender MC.
- Personality and skills stats.
- Choose which ‘side’ to ally with, or choose neither.
In a world similar to ours where magic is known to exist, but not particularly common, humans live together in large cities away from the dangers of the earth-bound spirits in the wilds beyond. Conjurers like you are able to commune with the spirits that live in the Otherworld, a world filled with dangerous spirits that is separated from your own world by the Veil. Spirits slip through the Veil occasionally, or they can be brought over via demonic contracts with conjurers. Both of these scenarios terrify ordinary humans who find solace in a prophecy that promises a chosen one who will strengthen the Veil, permanently sealing all spirits and magic away in the Otherworld forever.
This project is being worked on alongside ‘Dead Men’s Tales’ (a Victorian low fantasy) on deadmenstales-if.
THAT. That is goddamn good to have such freedom!! And this is a realistic approach too...ofc with time the forgiveness can be brought up, but to switch on it so fast for the ++ in relationship stat? Mehhh. THANK YOU FOR NOT PUNISHING US ANGSTERMANCES😩❤️❤️
In relation to your last ask; I’m a big believer that you do not have to forgive a person just because you love them, so I’m glad that isn’t going to lock one out of a romance with C. Sure, it’ll be “angsty” compared to forgiveness but that shouldn’t be required of a person who was hurt just because they love someone, and I’m excited to explore that detail more in your game personally
Yes yes yes! Everything you've just said is exactly how I feel about it Anon. I'm so glad you're resonating with this. In my experience, not everyone deserves forgiveness and not everything can be forgiven. That doesn't mean you love that person any less, but it means they hurt you in a way you can't forgive. It'll make some scenes more angsty but in the end, it's up to the player how they deal with it all! I never wanted to take that choice away from yall because I hate when I get railroaded into a certain 'good' path in romances even if its OOC for my MC.
So total freedom in all the romances (I mean, as much as coding and the workload will allow me but mostly as much as possible). This game will definitely be a place to explore darker themes and unhealthy sides of love too (not necessarily in C's route). I'm just so excited to let you guys loose in Ferngrove and do as you please.

The Potential RO’s (AKA the students who can crush on the MC)
Vitalius Ornstein/Astasus Ehrenreich:
Human Male, 9 - The stolen and presumed dead prince of the human Ornstein Empire, Astasus is the original Carmine’s love interest, and the source of her demise; in the first book, through his heroic deeds he managed to bring the Ehrenreich Organization to its knees. Now, he is but a boy caught in the plot of the story you know, eager to please and determined to have your back no matter what.
Eratine Ehrenreich:
Male Blood Elf, 11 - Among the first to die originally, Eratine is a snarky and abrasive brat determined to make your nightmarish life in Ehrenreich all the worse. The second he lays eyes on you he hates you, though he doesn’t seem to get along well with his other classmates either. Still, when you need him most he will do his best to rise to the occasion and his constant nagging seems to be a cover for the very real concern he holds for the others.
Bernadine Ehrenreich:
Female Electra, 12 - Bernadine is a quiet and observant genius who always keeps to herself. Using her inborn abilities to handle and use tech, Bernadine spends her days skipping class and experimenting in her room. The others avoid her and she goes out of her way to avoid them - she has plans, and the other students would only get in the way.
Brigid Ehrenreich:
Female Fae, 11 - Upon learning that her iridescent eyes link her to fae royalty, Brigid will only respond to the name she chose from the historical records of Theun: Princess Hesychia Meloda Ionnina. She’s haughty and high strung, believing that her placement in Ehrenreich is some mistake, and that any day now she’ll be taken to the Theun Organization: Libraria. Believing it to be her ‘noble’ duty, she’s the first to help you when you need it and the first to hide behind you when danger approaches.
Miki-Tane Ehrenreich
Male Xidhe, 12 - Despite his academic genius, Miki is always looking to have fun, often at the expense of others. He’s the first to chant: “Fight!” when fists fly, and he’s the first one blamed when Eratine wakes up with scribbles on his face. Still, when things go bump in the night he’s the one baring the door and when the others are in danger he’s the first to step in front of them.
Diacinth Ehrenreich
Male High Elf, 10 - In the original book, Diacinth was the last of the other students to die - his constant use of invisibility charms and hatred of talking meant he was able to outlast most. He’s painfully shy, though you’d need to be able to see him first to try and start a conversation. He doesn’t sleep in his bed, opting to sleep underneath it, and the few times you catch him unawares he runs away. Still, when you need a pencil sharpener or an eraser, one will magically appear on your desk where the wasn’t one before.
Nonnatus Ehrenreich
Human Male, 10 - Nonnatus wasn’t raised in the church; abused and neglected by a cruel merchant for his powers, he sees the Church as his saviour. Despite the danger lurking around every corner, he refuses to believe the Church or the teachers are behind it. Fiercely loyal and determined to turn a blind eye to all the horrors Ehrenreich has to offer, he sees the others as doubters in the Church’s majesty, you included, and antagonizes them at all costs.
☆ must be the season of the witch ☆
Eirris has been conquered–again. As other countries seek to expand their resources and their empires, the island nation of Eirris’s largely underdeveloped landscape proves too attractive. The High King of Eirris has been deposed and executed. Amarand now occupies the most populace port cities, and their crown prince now lives in the capital where he is hoping to make an advantageous marriage match. The Eirris clans, once united under the High King, now have fractured loyalties and motives. Some work to return Eirris to its previous power, searching tirelessly for an heir to the high throne. Some work with Amarand, earning themselves access to safe roads and profitable trade allies. Some have taken the opportunity to break free of kingdom rule entirely, and now operate as Free Clans.
You were born into a fen– a group of warriors loyal to a clan– and within the first two decades of your life, your group managed to make quite the name for yourselves as fearless and loyal adventurers. When the leader of your fen is executed for treason against the Amarandish crown, you find yourself quite suddenly without footing in the everchanging world around you. As you embark on a new adventure–full of magic and plenty of mysteries that need solving– meet a diverse cast of characters that, come what will or what may, change your life forever.
A fully customizable MC: choose your name, gender, sexuality, appearance, personality, religion, stats, and backstory
Choose from three types of magical backgrounds: Are you a druid, with ties to the fae and animism whose magic some fear, or are you a psychic, whose fortune telling and scrying are greatly admired, or are you an alchemist, whose affinity for healing and connection to the elements make you a valuable court mage?
Unique worldbuilding: while Good Folk is heavily character driven, a lot of thought and detail went into the creation of a completely unique world, one that MC travels extensively through the course of the story.
Find romance… or not!: Good Folk was designed as a romance game and has a diverse cast of characters available for romance. There are 6 romance options including male, female, non-binary, and trans ROs, as well as the option to romance any of the ROs as asexual. Every RO is available to every MC. Or choose not to romance anyone at all, and just make lifelong friends! (Note: This game will most likely feature explicit content and is only suitable for players 18+)
Determine the End State of Eirris: What will your homeland look like at the end of your journey? Will it remain under Amarand rule. Will it be united under an Eirrisian High King? Are there other options out there? Play to find out!
