some of you might remember that in my 2023 art summary the september piece was pixeled out due to being part of an unfinished project. this is the painting in question!
it's one third of a series of Essek portraits, inspired by a conversation with @saturdaysky about the universe needing more Esseks wearing fun colors. black & purple is a timeless classic, but i like to think that Hot Boi can and does rock colors outside of what would be considered nude tones for him 🤭

one of my favorite colors, and one that was a fun challenge to make work with Essek's lavender skin tone. as i was drawing i was thinking of Essek bringing a basket full of fresh peaches from his travels to his partner, and the kitties being the first to greet him as he arrived home 💜

🌱Would you love to own a Plant? - My Mom Needs You🌱
Hello everyone,
incase you’re just seeing this, My mom is a plant lovers. It’s been her, her cat, and her plants since we lost my dad as a kid. Unfortunately, Few years ago cancer came in between her and her plants. Just few months ago she had a successful surgery to remove the cervical cancer. We thought we were done.
With deep sadness, I must share that despite the successful removal of her cervix, my mom began experiencing severe internal pains during her recovery. After several check-ups and extensive kidney tests, it was confirmed that her kidneys have been affected by the cancer in a process known as metastasis. We now find ourselves facing a new and daunting challenge.
The treatment plan for metastatic cancer is complex and depends on various factors, including the type of primary cancer, the locations and number of metastatic sites, my mom’s overall health, and the treatments she has already undergone. Unfortunately, this new phase of treatment is extremely expensive, and we are struggling to manage the costs.
Compounding our difficulties, my sister was recently laid off just a few weeks into her new job, and our plant shop is not running as it should. We are in a dire situation, having exhausted many of our resources to treat my mom's cervical cancer.
With heavy hearts, we are reaching out to you once again to request your help. We are initiating a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for my mom’s kidney treatment. i have finally watched episode 94! welcome back hot boy 💜
y'all might know that i am a staunch supporter of short haired Essek, so when i learned about his new hairstyle i went mmmmm not sure about that! but it took me like. two and a half hours to change my mind. it's cool to experiment with your appearance! the dude deserves some cute fancy curls, as a treat. also zmeess you've been growing out your hair from a buzz cut for years, now he's just like you fr or whatever the kids say.

Applying for jobs is a hell designed specifically to torment autistic people. Here is a well-paying task which you know in your heart and soul if they just gave you a desk and left you alone and allowed you to do it you would sit there and be more focused and enthusiastic and excellent at it than anyone else in the building. However, before they allow you to perform the task, you must pass through 3-4 opaque social crucibles where you must wear uncomfortable clothes and make eye contact while everyone expects you to lie, but not too much (no one is ever clear exactly how much lying is expected, “over” honesty is however penalized). You are being judged almost entirely on how well you understand these very specific and unclear rules that no one has explained. None of this has anything to do with your ability to perform the desired task.
