Regarding my in-progress Dr STONE fanfiction:
idk it sounds fun to me and I still might do it anyway
Thinking about Dr. Stone first episode where the students asked who they would save if they had to choose between 2 options and Senku was like "I'll save everyone".
What if reader had a situation like that where the other one dies permanently and they had to choose between Stanley and Xeno without option to save both of them?
How do you think Stanley would react to being saved over Xeno and the same if it was instead Xeno who was saved?
Would they be angry for reader? Would they be able to still look at them in the eyes? How would they cope after this awful event?
First of all:
Rude. I'm crying now.
Second of all:
Neither of them will handle it well. While there is a logical understanding that you did what you had to do, neither Xeno nor Stanley every truly recover.
Stanley very quickly becomes a shell of his former self when he loses Xeno. Just drifting through the world, mind and heart numb. He can't bring himself to be happy anymore. He falls into the deepest of depressions, never to fully return to his senses.
Xeno becomes dangerous. Losing Stanley breaks something in him that no one can fix. If you thought he was a madman before, he practically throws himself off the metaphorical cliff straight into the deep end when Stanley dies.
There would be no real anger with you for what happened, they would both be smart enough to know that it wasn't truly your fault.
There is a high chance, if left to their own devices, one will follow the other to the other side. The only thing that could stop them, would be if you were romantically involved with the two of them when this happened. If that's the case, there is a chance they would both form a borderline obsession with your safety.
Neither of them would want to lose another partner. Not again. And they would both go to some pretty extreme lengths to avoid ever having to watch you die like the other one did.
What if reader doesn't like people who smoke or better when Stanley smokes? (He looks hot while smoking but I just don't like it when people do it.)
God, that's tough.
Speaking from personal experience, smoking is an addiction, and Stanley has likely been doing it for a long time considering how often we see him participating in his habit. I think he would want to stop for your sake, but would struggle a lot.
It would lowkey drive Xeno insane because that man has been yelling at him for years and then you come along and curl your nose at it and Stanley chucks his pack of cigarettes across the room into the trashcan to keep himself from smoking around you.
They would be. Ryusui might desire to see her face, but he's not nearly as pushy of a person as he makes himself out to be. He's just excitable.
And considering Ukyo was in the military, he probably knows at least one form of sign language. And if not, he'd 110% learn
*cough* *cough*
May I humbly ask who you would see best with willow?
-🌙
Hello Moon~
You absolutely may humbly ask that, however I have a couple quick questions of my own to make sure I answer this properly.
Am I correct in assuming you mean @whydoyouwatchmeweep, and is there a specific fandom you have in mind?
After your horror post I though what if during the sailing to america KoS met up Sirens that started to lure others into the sea but they fail in the end as Senku doesn't give even one millimeter interest to Sirens and barely manages to save his companions!
Oh but you see
Senku can be affected. He very nearly is.
They offer him answers. Not love, not sex, answers. They sing that they know the secrets of petrification, that they can tell him anything he wants to know. They sing that if he just took their hands, they'd show him all the secrets of the world.
But that's also what saves him. Because Senku does want those things, but he wants to discover them for himself. He doesn't want to take the easy way out, because then he wouldn't get to have fun, he wouldn't get to do the one thing he loves doing most.
That's what snaps him out of it, milliseconds before one of the creatures can convince him to fall into the water.
When he lays eyes on a Siren for the first time, he has no idea what he's even looking at. He'd never considered the idea that something like this could happen. But then again, Sirens and Mermaids have been in human mythology for thousands of years. They had to come from somewhere. And though he'd prefer if they were just drunken hallucinations from ancient sailors, there's nothing he can do about it now.
Because he's looking a scientific anomaly in the face, and she and her sisters want to eat him and his friends.
His mind races, digging through memory after memory, trying to remember all those stories, searching for the way to defeat them without killing them.
Senku ends up running down to where their radio is, and uses it to shout across the ship as loud as he can, hoping to drown out the sound of the incessant song in the air, and manages to startle Taiju out of his reverie. Senku tells him to plug his ears, and help him herd the rest of the crew into one of the lower parts of the ship that didn't have windows.
That's where he gets his hands on Ryusui, who he literally has to shake until his eyes snap back into focus with one of his trademark laughs. The captain of the Perseus tells Senku that Sirens are tricky. That, assuming the things outside were the same ones from ancient myth, getting out of this wasn't going to be easy. Just because he broke free of their spell once, didn't mean they couldn't entrap him in another.
These things worked outside the realm of science and fact, so the only way to defeat them was to play the game by their rules. So Senku clogs his ears with some spare wax, and leaves Ryusui and Taiju in charge of looking after the rest of the crew.
He heads up to the deck, only to find the world silent.
No more singing, no more pretty words and false promises. His eyes scan the horizon, searching for the wing-ed women who had been attempting to lure him and his friends into the depths.
"I know you're still here," He says. "No way you gave up that easily."
Something like a laugh, muffled by the wax, then a body drops in front of him, crouching on the railing of the ship.
It's easy to ignore her nakedness when she's covered in feathers.
"There you are." Senku can't stop the grin that spreads over his face. She was frighteningly beautiful, all sharp claws and birdlike eyes.
The Siren mimics his grin, showing off equally sharp teeth.
She leaps from the railing to stand at her full height. She was his size, maybe a handful of centimeters taller. Her hand lashes out, grabbing his face and tilting it to the side, eyes narrowing at the wax in his ears. Her claws dig into the softness of his cheeks, drawing blood.
"Cheat." She spats, shoving him away hard enough to make him stumble, and before he can fully steady himself, she's closing the small distance again, her wings folding neatly behind her.
"Let's play a game," Senku says quickly, backing up more. "Things like you like games, right?"
She pauses, tilting her head.
"What game?" She asks.
"A question game. Whoever can't answer the others question first loses."
"What happens to the one that loses?"
"Easy," He says. "The loser has to do what the winner asks."
She lets out a thoughtful hum, head tilting the other way not. She truly looked like some kind of humanoid bird.
"Fine. Your question." She says finally.
"What are you doing here?" Senku asks.
"We have always been here," She says, as if it's the most obvious thing in the world. "My question. Where did you go?"
He blinks, then understands.
She and the rest of her sisters hadn't been affected by petrification because they weren't human. So as far as she knew, humans just suddenly disappeared for thousands of years.
"We turned to stone," He says. "How have you survived without humans? If I remember my stories, you usually eat us."
She rolls her eyes.
"Humans stopped being good food long before you 'turned to stone'." She says. "How did you come back?"
"Science," He says. When her eyes narrow, he continues. "The stone I was trapped in was eroded through contact with nitric acid, which came from the caves near where I was stuck." It was best to keep it simple for now.
"How do you convince humans to jump into the water?" He asks.
"By knowing what's in their hearts." She says with a shrug. Of course, it was something totally natural to her, just like breathing. She probably has no other way to explain it.
It was her turn now, but instead of shooting off another question quickly as she had been, she takes a moment to consider.
"What is your name?" She asks, finally.
"Senku," He says. "I'll ask the same question. What's your name?"
She gives it, but it's in a language he's never heard, spoken with an accent that makes him dizzy. He doesn't try to repeat it.
"Where are you going?" She asks.
"America, to get what we need to start saving more humans from their stone prisons." He catches the way her expression shifts, just slightly, at his words. She seems pleased.
Senku sucks in a breath, it was time to end the game, and he had the perfect question.
"Why did the Why-Man turn humanity to stone?"
"Cheat!" She snaps, baring her sharp teeth at the question he knew she couldn't really answer, despite what had been promised to him in the songs.
"The rule is that you have to answer until you can't anymore. I never said the questions had to be something you should already know," He grins at her.
Her eyes widen, her feathers puffing out and he knows he's pissed her off. She makes a noise, something similar to an angry trill.
Then, she laughs.
"You win." She says. "I do not know why your Why-Man took humans away."
"That means you have to do what I say now," He reminds her.
"Tell me, Se-en-kuu. What you want."
"To study you. I want you to stay with me and my Kingdom of Science, and let me learn everything about you."
Her eyebrows raise.
"Is that your true desire, Se-en-kuu?" She asks. "I know you want more."
"Sure, I want plenty of things. But this is what I'm asking you for," He says. She makes another trilling noise, this one less angry but still annoyed.
"Fine. I will stay with you and your people."
"No trying to eat anyone," He says. "I need every person in good health."
"That is more than you asked for."
"Wanna play again?"
She scoffs.
"No. You cheat. I will not harm your people."
"Good Siren."
"You are, as I have heard it said, treading on thin ice."
Hey, do you think ryusui would want witch!reader in the ship? I can totally see him wanting magic to himself, but why conquer magic when he can get a hole witch for him! It's much easier
Oh absolutely.
Ryusui wants everything, but even he knows there are things he just can't do. So he'll happily covet the next best thing: you
Hi Hi hi!!!
I'm sorry but I CANNOT STOP READING WHATEVER THOUGHTS YOU HAVE ABOUT SENKU!!! I'd love to hear more about ur oc and Senku together 🥹🥹 <33
(but ofc- it's up to you if you wanna share lmao. I love your fic on ao3 too!! Thank you for reading this!)
AAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
I have so many thoughts about these two I genuinely don't know where to start.
Pre-Stone World, Odie lived in a pretty bad place, and had very little in the way of a support network.
The one person you'd think would help her ran off as soon as he possibly could, so she had to deal with the brunt of it alone.
She is 100% Stan's biggest hater and it's his own fault
But then she gets assigned this little pen pal project in the Japanese class she's taking because her school just happens to offer it, and ends up picking Senku as her partner by chance (his class sent the first 'hello' letters.)
He doesn't give her much to work with, just a name and a generally polite greeting.
So that's all she sends back. Her name, and a generally polite greeting.
And that makes Senku curious. All the other kids in his class got long, drawn-out letters, so why didn't he? What was different about her?
They vibe together shockingly well, once they start actually communicating.
Once phone numbers are swapped, it's almost non-stop
He's a certified yapper and she's a listener, and he takes full advantage of that.
She has sat through several multi-hour science lectures without complaint. You think Yuzuruha and Taiju are strong willed? They've got nothing on this depressed American teenager.
Has, on more than one occasion, purposefully texted him a hyper-specific science question out of nowhere while he was in school just to see if he'll answer it
(He does. He texts her the most quick and dirty explanation, then goes into details about it on the phone later that night.)
She also skips school and pretends to be sick a lot, and Senku will always answer a text from her (unless he's in REM sleep, but he'll always reply to her as soon as he's up)
It doesn't matter that Japan is 16 hours ahead of the United States, if they're both awake, they're probably talking
Things like this are pretty common.
Senku is the one to bring up the idea of doing video calls with their computers instead of just regular phone calls.
She bullies the hell out of him and honestly he kinda likes it (not like that I swear)
He likes that she makes jabs at him, but isn't trying to actually hurt him
And he'll shoot it right back at her, so it was totally fair
I, too, am a certified yapper and I love these two so much I am so excited to have them have their reunion in my fic. A tiny spoiler, it doesn't go well.
hello! I'm a masc reader, but gender neutral is just fine.
i wanted to ask for a one shot with senku, sorry for my English, is not my first language.
reader is a super affectionive person, but thought senku hated being touched, maybe that causes a misunderstanding? im really bad with plots haha you free to do whatever, but maybe add a flustered senku?
Senku being secretly desperate for touch is everything
The writers block I had working on this was insane-
x gn!reader
“Hey!” You’re always so excited to see him, a fact that makes him feel rather smug. He plants his feet, preparing for the hug he knew was coming. Even if he rarely hugged you in return, you never had any issue wrapping yourself around him.
It drove him insane.Â
Not in the sense that he hated it. He actually liked how you feel against him a lot. Arguably too much. There were times your hands on his body made his brain short circuit. And somehow, you never seemed to notice what your touch did to him.
“Long time no see,” Senku says, grinning at you. It had only been a few hours, but he’d missed you regardless. You simply hum in response, nuzzling your face into his neck. There was no way you couldn’t feel how hard his heart was beating, or how much warmer he felt now that you were pressed so dangerously close.Â
“Oh-” It’s as if a switch flips in your head, and suddenly you’re pushing yourself back, putting distance between the two of you. “Sorry! I forgot you don’t like that very much.”Â
Damn.
Recently, you’d come under the impression that his lack of reciprocation came from a hatred of touch, which could not be further from the truth. But he’d consistently failed to correct you, worrying a little that you’d feel uncomfortable if you knew how desperate he was for your affection.Â
3700 years of petrification had definitely changed him, that was clear.Â
“No problem,” He says, unable to fully hide his disappointment. “I need help in the lab today. Ready to get to work?”Â
You nod, smiling brightly at him. The two of you walk together, Senku occasionally letting his shoulder bump yours just to see the way you brighten when you touch.Â
It really was your love language. You liked to touch and be touched, and he hated how hard it was for him to meet you where you needed him to. Between how flustered it made him nowadays, and his lack of desire to be touched in the old days, he knew you thought he wanted little to do with your preferred kind of affection. He needed to change that, and soon. He hated the way your inner light dimmed when you felt like you had to pull away from him. He’d always hated it.Â
The lab is big enough for both of you to work separately, but Senku scoots closer and closer to you as time passes, eventually ending up practically on top of you.Â
“Am I in the way?” You ask, looking at him with a small frown.Â
“The opposite actually,” He says. “You aren’t close enough.”
You turn and look at him, eyes wide and confused. Maybe now wasn’t the time, but he’d opened his mouth without thinking first.Â
“Do I need to be close?” You ask.
“I need you close all the time,” He says. “Otherwise, I can’t think.”Â
You make a soft oh sound, eyes refocusing on the task at hand. The lab falls into silence, but Senku swears he can hear the wheels in your head turning as you take your time digesting his words. You were thinking over his statement carefully so that you could give a proper response.Â
“Senku?” You murmur his name after a while, shifting to press your shoulder more firmly into his.Â
“Hm?”
“Do you…like being touched?” You ask, eyes flitting to his face for a brief moment before they return to watching what you were doing.Â
“Not always,” He admits. “But if it’s you, yeah.”
“Just me?”Â
“No one else feels as good,” His voice may be calm, but he was internally panicking. He was essentially confessing his feelings to you, giving you the chance to turn him away and distance yourself forever.
“You…think I feel good?” You ask, a sly grin beginning to form on your face as the implication of what he’s just said starts to set in for you both.Â
“Very,” He says, grinning when you giggle, noting how red your face goes.Â
“How vulgar,” You tease.Â
“I never said I was a good boy,” He teases right back, sending you into another fit of amused and slightly flustered giggles.Â
“No you did not,” You agree, taking a breath to calm yourself. “So…does this mean I can touch you more often?”
It’s his turn to pause, to think about what you’re really asking.Â
“Yeah,” He says. “If you want.”
The night creeps in, cold but not unforgiving. Not with Simon laid under you, his body giving off enough heat to chase the chill away. You’re splayed over his torso, ear pressed to his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat.Â
Meeting him, having him love you, it felt like a miracle. If things in your life had gone differently, would the two of you even have crossed paths? Would you have gotten the chance to be pressed against him like this, body sore in the best way from being ravished so thoroughly. Would your left hand have the ring he gave you on it?
You push yourself up, leaning over him a bit. His dark eyes flit open, finding you immediately.Â
“You alright?” He asks, voice thick with interrupted sleep.Â
You frown to yourself, reaching out to lightly run your fingers over his face. He hums softly, eyes closing a bit as he lets himself enjoy your touch. His lips part, just slightly, when you brush over them, before he catches your fingertips in the quickest of kisses.Â
"Do you think we find and fall in love with each other in every universe?"Â
The question jolts him awake, eyebrows rising as he peers at you in the darkness.Â
"I don't know," He admits. "I've never thought about things like that."Â
Such a Simon thing to say. It honestly didn’t surprise you that much that he’d never put any time into these kinds of thought experiments. But you were curious, and maybe a bit insecure, so you decide to press on with it anyway.Â
“Can you try to think about it?”
“Alright, alright.”Â
Senku feels emotions intensely. So much so that they can overload his brain, which in situations like survival in a stone world, isn't exactly good. So he smothers himself, over and over and over, insisting on logical thinking and logical thinking only in order to keep himself in order so that he can save humanity.
Have you gotten any more question asks or did Tumblr hiccup multiple times? Gotta know before I rage and spam again
I've gotten a couple! But feel free to keep asking whatever!
