this photo is very in character to me actually. he looks a little scared to have his arms around her and that’s about right for anatoly and svetlana.
If I had a nickel for every time I redrew this image I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a long but it’s weird that it happened twice, right?
Og under the cut
a couple of days ago i saw a local production of the great comet and i rlly thought i loved that show before but now im even more in love with it like its insane. that may have been my favorite theatre experience ever. it was an intimate little theatre with an entirely local cast and everyone was so talented and amazing i was blown away.
do they mention nikolai at all in the great comet (besides mentioning sonya’s fiancé)? only asking cuz sometimes i think about how they managed to mention boris and not nikolai
i miss you every day natasha, pierre & the great comet of 1812

pierretasha save me, save me pierretasha..
i bought a copy of the “original drafts” version of war and peace cuz i saw ppl talking about it so much and i only knew some vague facts about it. it’s really interesting and i’m enjoying it but i do find it funny that the publisher describes it as “tolstoy’s intended version” when so much of what’s left out is the most self indulgent philosophizing prose from tolstoy.
thinking about how steven spielberg wanted the gestapo agent in the first indiana jones movie to be a cyborg with a mechanical arm that could switch back and forth between a machine gun and a flamethrower and how george lucas of all people had to be the one to tell him that it was too over the top
