A school project based on Harry Potter and the Prisioner of Azkaban
and my husband, of course
Reblogging cause it’s on theme
Wanted to share this Golden trio fluff:
Who was Harry Potter anyways? The Chosen One? The Boy-who-lived? The Saviour and Golden Boy of the Wizarding World?
Did the press actually got it right when they wrote pieces about him? Could they know what kind of person he was just by the major events of his life? Coul he?
Did Hermione and Ron knew who his best friend was? During those nights filled with dread when the dead became living and the living bled to death in the most excruciating ways. When they were there for him, did they know?
When they took his hand and slept right there besides him, whispering sweet nothings until he fell asleep again. Could they describe who he was with the same certainty one would talk about the lush and green hills in Scotland?
Mione watched him with that look of hers, one of unwavering faith. Her eyes softening as she lulled him to sleep.
The moonlight filtered through the tiny gap between the curtains back in his room in Grimmauld Place, illuminating the seven freckles scattered in her nose and cheeks. A hundred years could pass and he’d still be able to trace those freckles to memory, like one traces the starts and constellations in the nightsky. She’d stay there for hours, stroking his hair and drawing silly patterns in his skin. Like a mother would. Soft fingertips and soothing lullabies.
With the tenderness of a mother, the devotion of a lover and the undying loyalty of a friend.
In those moments he could be sure of one thing: Hermione Granger knew exactly who Harry Potter was: His best friend, the person looking back at her with grief and open adoration.
And Ron. Ron held him while Mione grounded him and brought him back to Earth with them. Soft breath tickling his neck. He was too tall for the bed, so his feet stayed dangling from the edge most of the times.
Ron was home, Ron was family.
Ron was the first person to ever say I love you, his chubby cheeks bouncing as he smiled, honest in his love like only kids are.
There wasn’t much of that Ron in the 6’2 ft tall man that layed besides him. Except maybe his eyes. They were blue, blueblueblue, round and big and completely sincere. Every emotion he felt reflecting back on them.
Violent but oh so soft. Harry had never seen the ocean, but he reckoned that’s how it looked like.
His presence was enough to make the world stop spinning, so he stayed with them: A hand in his arm or a leg tangled between Mione’s.
Always touching.
His silence saying more than a million words could.
I’m not going anywhere Harry. Not today, not tomorrow. Not ever again.
But so they knew? Did they even care?
You’re every Harry love, the ones you like and the ones you don’t
Harry Potter was the guy that passed the Auror official test in record time. The one that later on had a flashback in the middle of a raid and almost got everyone killed.
Harry Potter was the man who stayed alone in New Year’s Eve changing napies and falling asleep besides his godson as he burnt in fever.
It was the five year old boy that one day came home from school with a carefully written card he’d dedicated to his aunt on Mother’s Day.
It was the boy who loved to fly. That felt more free in the air than any place on Earth. That enjoyed the breeze against his hair and the feeling of wood under his fingers.
It was the man that spent half a year in muggle parties with his best friend’s sister fucking his way through London. High with the thrill of anonymity and pissed out of his mind.
The person that loved to control, to humiliate and to hurt: The man more scared of his own shadows than he was of any threat out there.
The one that stood in front of Voldemort when he was 17 and killed him like he was born to do so.
Harry Potter was the man scared of dark and cramped spaces. The man that fell apart in his best friends’ arms and sobbed for hours like he couldn’t do anywhere else.
It was the little boy who looked just like his father, that had his mother’s eyes.
It was the man who loved with every fiber of his being, that loved and loved like it was a race, that burned and consumed and desperately wanted to be loved back. It was the man that remembered Molly’s favorite way of taking tea, that visited Goerge on the weekends at the shop. The one that discussed muggle phones with Arthur. It was the man Andy could always remember his daughter with
Harry Potter was the boy that walked to his death on a cool May evening because he loved, and wanted his friends to live and to be happy more than he wanted it for himself.
And so Hermione stroked his hair, and Ron hid his face in the crook of his neck, and so they’d remind him.
I love all of them Harry, each and one of them
You’ve carried enough burdens mate, leave some of them to us alright? We’ll carry them too
Harry Potter was Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley’s best friend. And sometimes, that was enough.
(Or in most of these cases, to his first year at Hogwarts)
✨ Another Chance / 57k / Harry leaves the white limbo of King's Cross to find himself in his childhood cupboard once again. Luckily for him, it seems he's brought Ron and Hermione back with him, and with his best friends at his side he can do anything.
The Golden Trio take Hogwarts by storm, a bit more jaded and ruthless than before and determined to undermine the war before it ever truly starts.
✨ Oh God Not Again! / 151k / So maybe everything didn't work out perfectly for Harry. Still, most of his friends survived, he'd gotten married, and was about to become a father. If only he'd have stayed away from the Veil, he wouldn't have had to go back and do everything AGAIN.
✨ family and other wonders / 124k / Harry was supposed to pick- move on and be with his parents, or go back to finish the battle with Voldemort. But even Dumbledore doesn't know everything, and Harry finds that there are actually a lot more options than those two.
Harry wants more than what he got. He wants a home. He wants a family. He wants a chance to be happy. He isn't sure he deserves all that, but he's going to try anyway. If only to spite Dumbledore and Voldemort's plans both.
OR: Harry Potter wakes up ten years old but with all of his memories from age seventeen. He immediately begins to make Mistakes.
✨ Another Chance / 244k / Harry willingly walks to face Voldemort for one last time. The moment the Killing Curse hits, he wakes up the day after he and Hermione traveled through time. Gifted this chance, Harry sets out to learn about about what has been denied to him since he lost his parents. Along the way he makes new friends, learns new magic, and carves out his place in the wizarding world.
✨ Harry Potter and the Ticket Backwards / 78k / When the most powerful magics collide due to Harry Potter's desperate, last sacrifice, he creates for himself a chance to fix up the wrongs in his world. Yet going back in time isn't everything that he expected: Voldemort is a threat, but it is Harry himself who no longer fits comfortably in the world. Time has changed him, he just hasn't yet figured out how.
✨ Everything Black / 67k /
If you had a chance to do it over again, make things better, would you take it?
or
Harry fakes it 'til he makes it.
OR
Harry -somehow- accidentally goes back in time.
✨ Square One / 59k / When Harry dies in the Forbidden Forest, he expected not to wake up. Much less wake up in his childhood cupboard, and even less expected was the letter from his friends confirming it wasn't just him starting over at square one.
Time-Travel fix it where the golden trio get sent back to first year! Starts on the day of Dudleys birthday! Sorry for all of the head cannons!!
Heavily inspired by Arkodian's series "What goes around comes around"!
✨ The Walking Paradox / 57k /
This was a bad dream.
It had to be. It must be a nightmare, purgatory, something. Anything, anything at all except for what his sneaking suspicions were saying.
There was no way – there was no way – Harry James Potter had been hit by the Killing Curse and promptly been transported back in time.
And yet.
(Yet another time travel fix-it fic - except it isn't a power fantasy.) (though those are good, too)
✨ The Ordeal of Being Known / 146k / When Auror Potter is anonymously cursed with silence by being forced to hide his own voice inside his mind, there's unfortunately only one person in the country with the qualifications to fix it: Certified and Licensed Healer Legilimens, Draco Malfoy, specialist in Mind Curses and Afflictions. It's obviously a terrible idea, a disaster waiting to happen, but Draco's never been able to back down from a challenge... especially from Potter.
Features fuzzy cartoon slippers, devious house elves, 90s music, and lots—LOTS—of memories. Ron is annoyingly hot, Hermione sees right through you, Harry is a powerful idiot, and Draco is a reclusive masochist that would buy an entire city if it would make a kid happy. (And Pansy is "5'2, I wanna dance with you, and I'm sophisticated fun.")
✨ A Wolfs Song / 52k / At 30, Draco Malfoy had worked hard to become a respectable citizen. He’d gotten his life together, however small it may be, and Draco was happy with its mundanity.
Except, that is, on Tuesdays.
On Tuesdays, Harry Potter visited his shop.
What begins as a budding friendship between an Auror and his healer turns into so much more after an attack changes the course of Harry’s life.
✨ Five Weddings and a Potions Accident / 19k / In which Harry thinks he’s a playboy, everyone else knows better, and Hermione will kill Seamus if Ron tries to collect on that bet.
✨ freely, as men strive for right / 17k / How can Harry love a man like Draco Malfoy?
If only Draco would let him count the ways.
(Sometimes, a happily-ever-after takes a bit longer than you expect.)
✨ The Four Doors / 48k / It’s been four months since Harry lost his memory. Four months of dead ends and no answers. With time running out until his memories are gone for good, Harry agrees to a course of Legilimency therapy with a renowned specialist: Mind Healer Draco Malfoy.
✨ And Back Again (Where You Belong) / 15k / He thought back on their previous handshakes, and smiled faintly at the fact they always seemed to mean so much more to him than they did to Potter.
✨ Tell Me the End at the Beginning / 36k / St Mungo’s is the last place anyone wants to spend the festive season. Harry finds himself there anyway.
Or: Harry's an Auror suspended from duty, Malfoy's wearing the hell out of three-piece suits, Hermione is entirely over everything, and Kreacher just wants to be left alone to decorate for Christmas.
A 25 Days of Draco and Harry story.
✨ If Memory Serves / 17k / What do you do when your schoolboy nemesis, who conveniently (or not) has no memory of the last two and a half decades of his life, is handed into your care?
You fall in love with him, of course.
✨ the space between (what you want and what you need) / 13k / As a specialist Healer in dark magic, Draco has had his fair share of difficult cases and awkward patients. Still, nothing has prepared him for a curse-paralysed Harry Potter.
✨ A Half Life, A Cursed Life / 48k / Harry Potter has decided to die. Draco Malfoy may be the only one who has noticed.
✨ love is touching souls (surely you touched mine) 34k / Voldemort is dead. It's Christmas, and Harry's just opened a gift from Fred and George Weasley.
✨ Hmm / 6k
Harry is a hummingbird animagus.
Tom opens a flower shop just to attract his attention.
✨ Something in my heart then crystallised / 8k
"This room is the perfect size for a tree,” Harry says.
“A tree?” Tom asks, dubious.
“Yeah,” Harry says. When he gets no response, he looks up over his shoulder to see Tom is watching him with furrowed brows. “You know, a Christmas tree.”
He looks toward the corner of the room, which is bare but for a spare chair that no one ever uses. Tom follows Harry’s gaze then asks, voice flat, “Why?”
In which Harry remembers a promise he made to himself long ago and decides it's time to fulfill it. AKA: In which Harry and Tom decorate a Christmas tree together. Eventually.
✨ Cerulean blue / 4k / Voldemort and Harry adopt their younger versions and spend the summer in Ottery St Catchpole. They spoil them rotten and get sunburnt. That’s it.
Oh, and they nap.
✨ The Way to a Man’s Heart / 26k / “Someone is working against me, Harry,” Tom said. “I have been personally stymied. Not once now, not twice, but three times within the last two months.” He closed his eyes briefly. “It is clear that someone out there has begun some kind of baseless vendetta.”
“And it’s just against you? That’s rough, boss,” Harry said
Tom has an unknown nemesis. Harry has Tom’s lunch.
✨ Reporting for Duty / 17k / Harry thinks he wants to be an Auror. Then the Minister for Magic swoops into his life. Harry does not end up becoming an Auror.
In which Minister Tom Riddle literally just hires Harry as his PA because he's cute and argumentative.
✨ The Gift of Giving / 16k / “You don’t work here,” he says, dragging his eyes up and down Harry’s body in a slow once-over. “I’d remember you.” Harry shuffles his feet and, for some reason, the movement makes the man smirk. Harry’s cheeks flame. Fuck this guy.
*
Tom Riddle might just be the most pompous, entitled, self serving man Harry has ever met. If only his attempts at seduction weren’t so effective.
✨ At the end of every road / 90k
One would think traveling 52 years into the past would allow Harry some much desired anonymity, but unfortunately the malfunctioning Triwizard Cup spat Harry out on the quidditch pitch in the middle of a game. There's no lying about his provenance while a shiny plaque on the base of the Cup announces to everyone he is 'Harry Potter, Hogwarts Champion, 1994.'
Swept up by the ministry and sworn to secrecy by the Unspeakables, Harry is left to navigate the past on his own. Good thing his great-grandparents are willing to take him in - even if they're a little more into blood purity than Harry had expected - and Hogwarts is willing to welcome him back - even if he's a novelty to everyone as the time traveling Champion.
At least Harry will have the familiarity of Gryffindor Tower to ease his homesickness. Or he would, if the sorting hat hadn't put him in Slytherin, where he's forced to share a dorm with none other than Tom Riddle.
---
In which Harry is determined to prevent Voldemort's rise, even if he has to stalk, bribe, threaten, and marry Tom Riddle to do it.
✨ a small treacle tart / 7k / “Is that a child?” Voldemort says, incredulous, abruptly yanked out of his murderous mood.
“His name is Teddy,” Harry Potter near-growls. “He’s mine. You’re not touching him.”
✨ And the Rest is Confetti / 10k / Coffee shop AU with Accidental Wooing of Wealthy Men (or just one wealthy man, but Riddle’s enough trouble to count for ten tbh even if Harry doesn’t know that yet). Also a dash of murder because I need my emotional crutches in storytelling.
This is definitely my guilty pleasure. Sirry feels very taboo at times, (especially if you have a Marauders background lol), but god I love it. Their dynamic is usually so explosive and breath-catching, ughh. The yearning, the anger, the trauma!
Anyways, here are some of my favorite time travel fics. If you’re new to the ship I’d recommend starting with Chained, you’ll be hooked in no time.
Enjoy!
✨ and I Looked Back on a Broken World / 183k / “This is the most stupid thing you’ve ever done!” Hermione yells after Harry. Then she blinks. They’re no longer at Grimmauld Place and, sitting huddled together on a familiar four-poster bed with red hangings, are four teenaged boys, staring avidly at them. Well, this is just brilliant, she thinks. “And you didn’t even get the year right!”
Or: the one in which Harry is done with the war and thinks it’s time he got something he wanted for a change. He misses his godfather, goddammit.
Hermione’s and Harry’s friendship is top-tier. Plus, I’ll always have a soft spot for Harry interacting with the Marauders. Must read.
✨ Chained / 66k / Harry accidentally time travels to 1979, where he gets captured by the Order of the Phoenix. There's a catch — from the moment they set eyes on Harry's Dark Mark, they despise him.
*
“Finally awake… Death Eater?” the man spat spitefully.
Harry never would have imagined meeting like this.
The words “I can explain” were stuck on the tip of his tongue. But all that came out was a soft, strangled, “Sirius.”
The Sirry fic by excellence. Simply mind-blowing. If you’re gonna read any of these fics, let it be this one.
✨ The Man Out of Time / 23k / Harry gets hit with a piece of the veil, and falls into Sirius's past. And back again.
Loosely inspired by The Time Traveler's Wife.
I loved the dynamic between Harry and Sirius. It’s pretty different from other Sirry fics, which I enjoyed a lot. Plus, the drama? Cheff kiss.
✨ Time Turned Back / 182k / Broken and angry after losing Sirius fifth year, Harry recklessly puts himself in harms way, dragging Hermione along for the ride. Now they are stuck in another time with some all too familiar faces. Will the time with lost loved ones heal Harry or end up doing more damage?
✨ The Laws of Defence / 60k / The one where Harry gets sent back to 1977 to finish off Voldemort before he could get started, but he didn’t anticipate having to mark homework in between hunting horcruxes. Again.
✨Shattering Timelines / 80k / After realizing the war destroyed almost everything he ever cared about, Harry sets out to find a way to go back in time to save his family and fix it all. Even if it means destroying his timeline in order to protect his family.
✨ dogged / 11k / "I'm handsome," Sirius says, hugging his pillow in the dark. "I'm smart. I'm strong. I'm charismatic. I have experience with tons of people, who wanted to shag me and liked me a lot. I defend him, I admire him, I've been nice to Sniv-- Snape, lately--"
James groans. "Go the bloody fuck to sleep!" Peter, the lucky sod, is dead to the world and lets out a loud snore.
"I need Professor Evans to give me a chance," Sirius continues. "I could be so good for him. He needs someone like me. He's so--" Sirius yelps as a Stinging Hex hits him in the face from the direction of Remus' bed
✨ Better im the Morning / 20k / When Harry sacrifices himself to protect the ones he loves most, Voldemort's Killing Curse sends him hurtling back in time to 31 October 1981, but he arrives too late to save his parents. A grieving Harry decides to rescue Sirius Black from a future of misery and imprisonment and brings Sirius to hide in the Hut-on-the-Rock.
Momentarily, Harry and Sirius try to forget all that they've lost.
