i am a firm believer that ocs are a reflection of the self in the way that every character you create has to hold some piece of you to really feel alive. sometimes this is why all your ocs have certain traits, sometimes this is why you can track your various issues and traumas all the way from middleschool to now based on what your ocs are like. this is a feature not a bug
So it's come my attention that there are a lot of students, particularly in humanities and social sciences disciplines, who need to hear this, so here goes:
Do the readings.
Oh my God, just do the readings. I promise, it gets easier once you get into the habit of it.
What makes a good student? Doing the readings. Literally just doing the readings is enough to make you a good student.
ideologically i disagree with outside cats but i cannot deny the allure of being able to just meet a little guy anytime anywhere
Better quests( even side quests tend to be interesting)
A world that feels lived in
The towns and cities actually look like towns and cities not a few houses just thrown down
Npcs have an actual personality hell. Even the guards have different personalities from each other
Thieves guild, dark brotherhood, mages and fighters guild quests are great and my favourite part is that we aren't made the leader
So many different armor types with zero gender lock
Again the world is beautiful
Dragons are actually dangerous and earn thier reputation (I remember my first time fighting one, got my ass kicked immediately)
Also they're not afraid to have flirty npcs thst even flirt with the player charecter that aren't just weirdly horny female npcs (some guards even flirt)
I love ESO for many reasons, but one bit that is incredibly funny to me is that if you get caught steling and dont wanna deal with guards, you gotta go stand in a corner like a naughty child to wait for the bounty to go down
nobody warns you this but addiction happens without you noticing and one of the first things that it attacks is your ability to care. if you find yourself using recreational drugs every day, stop and take one day a week sober. if you struggle with this or if you don't see the point of the exercise, you are likely already addicted and you need help.
IDK if this is a hot take but its crazy how ESO has had some genuinely amazing writing and lore, including things that just will never be shown.
Like a lot of the lore that TES fans mention in the main games is just flavor text or some half baked dream Kirkbride wrote up, its rarely ever shown in the games.
But in ESO, you see all the types of Khajiit, you get to be in jungles and deserts and swamps, you get to talk to the Hist, enter planes of oblivion, and go to the moon! Even when it wasn't always the best, it still did more to flesh out the world.
And when TES 6 does come out, I expect it to be disappointing in a lot of ways, but especially in that people will pretend that ESO isn't canon and had nothing to offer the franchise, when it carried it on its back and tbh has been the only MMO I can stomach.
If I was in the elder scrolls universe I'd either get cancelled or cause a political incident by frequently and inadvertently offending Alfiq Khajiit by saying things like "aw little guy!" to like these grown ass merchants and bankers and such
I would like to apologize to every single one of my wips ever
But how do you say goodbye when your heart still wants to hold on?
Pretty sure if I got hugged for more than 5 seconds I would break down crying
the entire point of life is to be silly, kind, and really weird btw.
being nonchalant is overrated, spam me, send me all the videos that made you laugh, show me you care, send me your silly jokes and random thoughts, no need to hide your enthusiasm to come over as uninterested
There is literally no higher praise to me than "you make me want to draw." Like hell yes, go create things!! Thank you!!! You make me want to draw more, too!!
