[Preferred Character!] A Fun New Year

sypnosis: In which you wait a new chapter with f/o

an: any character is fine, just input their names !! :) + There'll be some “asian/filipino traditions” Involved here so people from the south may get confused but don't worry I will list what it means later on (Just slight traditions, Do not fret.) Happy New Year!! I hope 2022 would be the start of our new life after the pandemic.

“Hurry up baby! We need to finish preparing these meals before our relatives and friends went here!” (Name) yelled to their lover

“Wait, I need to set up all of these plates first” F/O yelled back from afar while they put down each of the plates for their parents

Their family, friends, and relatives had decided to take their New Year at (Name) and F/O's house, so then the two couple will be in charge of preparing the things for New Year and needed to finish it as soon as possible as they only had 2 hours left

“Baby, Had you bought the 12 round fruits for the year?”

“Yes yes I had bought them from the market earlier"

“What about the decorations and tikoy?”

“Also here.”

(Name) and F/O conversation just keep on going about the preparations, Even if they had finished it all they still need to take a bath to be presentable to them

“Don't do anything naughty. We need to take a bath together to conserve time”

F/O pouted at (Name)'s words but agreed while they entered the showered, and as promised no make out session, they still had 1hr and 30 minutes left to wear their clothes which is a pretty big spare and dressed

Once their finish, just in time someone rang in the doorbell and (Name) opened it to reveal their family together chattering, “It seems we had went just on time together” (Name)'s mother said and F/O's parents agreed and they laughed

(Name)'s mother and father hugged them which they hugged back, F/O's parents and siblings had also joined the hug group and finally entered the house

“Please, make yourself comfortable” F/O said escorting them to the living room where they will all talk and watch television together, It's still 11pm and they had one hour before it strike 12 am

Their friends still haven't arrived and thought maybe their stranded by the amount of people coming home to celebrate New Year, thus a traffic inshort. They called (Name) that if they didn't make it, celebrate without them. But (Name) and F/O disagreed and said they'll wait for them to reach the household

(Name) prepared a cup of hot chocolate drink to fight against the cold while relaxing and talking to each other. (Name) sat beside their lover who is cuddling close to them and they give them a small smile and hugged back

The family won't ever notice they're cuddling as because their busy chattering and don't have time to spare a glance

Someone had knocked on the door again, this time (Name)'s sibling opened the door and there, their friends gasping for air, hands on their knees and all sweating

“Are you guys okay?” F/O asked and bought them a towel and water, which they took and sighed in relief after they drank the water

“We'..We're fine our phone died down and the car lost a fuel so we left it on the  next street, so we rushed here..we don't have a time clock apparently” They explained and sat down on a chair

“That's one of a crazy bad luck"

“I know, glad we made it just in time. We still had 5 minutes”

Everyone had went to the backyard and sat down on the grassy field, their neighborhood preparing to launch the fireworks

“(Name).” F/O said straightforward, while still looking at the beautiful night stars and constellations forming

“Yeah?”

“Im glad I met you, I wonder what would have happened if ... I haven't met you”

(Name) lightly smacked f/o's shoulder, “It seems you're out of character just for this small confession but” (Name) also looked at the night sky

“I agree.”

“10 more seconds! Everyone let's all countdown together!” F/O and (Name)'s friends shouted while everyone chant the countdown

“10!!"

(Name) closed their eyes while F/O started to lean in

“9!!”

“8!!”

“7!!”

Both the lovers are starting to get red but no one pushed away while they hear the countdown but it's as if a backround noise only

A warm soft lips crashed against (Name)'s lips and none pulled out feeling their love had grown stronger

“4!!"

“3!!”

Their lips move in synchrony and (Name) put their arms on F/O's neck and pulled them closer while F/O rested their hands on (Name)'s hips

(Name) was sitting on the ground while F/O are on top of them, both of their eyes closed

“2!!"

They pulled away and shortly gasped for air, F/O put their forehead on (Name)'s and give a small smile

The fireworks illuminated in the sky replacing the hidden beauty of the sky and different colors of it and variety exploded

“1!!"

“Happy New Year” They said together staring at each other's eyes as a new year with them will go through

(Their all chinese related, but like...almost all of the chinese stuffs, e.g. celebration, had great impact on Philippines 😭)

*12 fruits of the month- the practice is believed to attract good luck and fortune for the new year.

*Tikoy- it is believed that tikoy's sticky feature symbolises the sticky or solid relation of the family and that the new year would bring the family to stick together
