Experience Tumblr like never before
I saw this on the day I finished Night Watch and...
It feels almost cathartic, in a way
Sir Terry has changed many lives, including mine, and I think he will continue to do so far into the future
It's an honor long deserved that he be added to this collection, and I hope this will give more people an opportunity to learn from his wit, humour, and everything else exemplified in his writing.
It feels odd, mourning a man I've never met, who died before I could have even dreamed of it, and yet I still do. Because stories are an immutable part of humanity and stories are timeless. We must rise up, march on, and continue singing, while remembering those who we're not singing with.
We have to use those emotions -the joy, the fear, the grief- to forge a new future
One Samuel Vimes would be proud of;
One Terry Pratchett would be proud of;
One we're proud of
So here's to Truth, Justice, Freedom, Reasonably Priced Love, and
a Hard Boiled Egg
GNU Sir Terry Pratchett
We are thrilled to announce that Sir Terry Pratchett’s NIGHT WATCH is set to become a Penguin Classic, publishing in April 2025.
Terry Pratchett knew what was up.
This is from Going Postal.
I heard recently that you can tell a lot about a person by the first movie they know Tim Curry from and I literally can’t stop thinking about it.
so say in the tags what’s the first movie you know Tim Curry from. Mines muppets treasure island
Silly Game Time: Are you fan of the fantasy genre? If so, what's a fantasy story (movie, show, book, game, etc.) you really like, and why?
I'm a big fantasy fan.
I really devoured the Discworld books by Terry Pratchett. There aren't many books that make me laugh out loud or make me stop and think as much as his. I even think that these books have contributed to the fact that I am me and I'm usually pretty happy with that.
At the moment I'm really hooked on good omens. The brain rot is real af. I love the story, the fans and especially what they make of the fan community! Such wonderful artists and writers. I think I've fallen a little bit in love with all of them 😄.
[except NG. He can go to hell]
I was googling the release date for the next Discworld book ;_;
Y’know an awful lot of Terry Pratchett’s books are concerned with how powerful women are when they get angry and how important anger is as a driving force to defend what is right and to tackle injustice.
A lot of his most interesting and most deeply moral characters are angry ones. Granny Weatherwax, Sam Vimes, Tiffany Aching. All are to a large extent driven to do good by anger.
And that honestly means a lot to me.
