Me when I realized I'm going to be almost 30 when the last TSC book comes out:

viktor arcane has to be one of the characters ever.

he's gay. he's terminally ill. he's suicidal. he's from league of legends. he's in a toxic relationship with an orb. he also might be the orb(???). he bullshitted his way into the academy by pretending he went there. he rizzed up a guy so he wouldn't kill himself. he then tried to impress said guy by breaking into his boss's lab. then when he got caught he tried to play it off by saying he thought this big intimidating door was his bedroom door and he was just trying to sneak a guy in there. he nearly died because hetero sex was happening like a mile away. kinda. he took illegal drugs. he's also the apprentice of the guy who's making the illegal drugs and never mentions it. he's inspired off of the tale of frankenstein's monster. he got shot by a missle and fucking died. when he came back to life he immediately broke up his messy gay situationship and became jesus fucking christ.

My worst fear for TWP is that Cassandra Clare decides to pull an Achilles and Patroclus and kills Kit or Ty and completely destroys the other in the process

But I think it will be better if he kept the Morgenstern name and proved not all Morgenstern men are evil. It had become like a trope now that Morgenstern men are evil

THE WICKED POWER THEORY

ASH MORGENSTERN BECOMES ASH FAIRCHILD

OBS: English is not my first language so my grammar sucks. Please forgive me and dont mock me, I really didnt mean to.

If Ash survives The Wicked Powers, he probably will take the Fairchild name and continue the lineage. Here is why:

1 - Janus might be raising him, but Ash still has morals left. He doesnt want to become like his father and he is only going along with the Seelie Queen + Janus plan because he loves Janus. He is the only parental figure he truly cares. Also he saved Emma and Julian in Thule and he still has Dru drawning.

2 ‐ ASH HAS WINGS

ASH IS HALF FAERIE

"The Fairchild family symbol is a pair of faerie wings, because the word "fair," from which the name is derived, is often used to refer to the Fair Folk. This is depicted on their silver family ring which has a pattern of faerie wings around the band."

3 - ASH HATES SEBASTIAN

Ash hates his father as much Clary hated Valentine. And you know what she did out of spite? Clary only used her mother surname, Fairchild. I can see Ash doing the same but with his grandmother name since...

3 - THE SEELIE QUEEN DOESNT HAVE A SURNAME

I think Ash does love his mother and if she survives and they still get along well, Ash will want to use a name that could be a nod to his own heritage. Fairchild.

4 - Clary is going to marry Jace and I dont see him taking her family name because the poor boy already has several. And frankly I dont think Clary and Jocelyn care much about the name dying. Jocelyn faked her death for years and took a mundane surname for herself and then later she called herself a Fairchild again only to marry Luke and they didnt try to have another kid (Clary is a daughter for Luke).

The point is: if its up to Jocelyn and Clary, they dont mind about the Fairchild name dying..

UNLESS they discovered about Ash. I am sure once Ash joins Team Good, he will bond with aunt and grandma. Maybe they will encourage him to take the family name

5 - The Morgenstern name is cursed. Everyone in the Shadow World knows and fear it, I am sure the surname become the equivalent to infamous dictadors/mass murderers last names in the Shadow World history. Tessa warned Clary about this when they first met and I think Ash will renounce the Morgenstern name if he chooses to become a true Shadowhunter.
