Bruce was never a fighter. Even if he got pissed off, he never threw a punch. It was never in his nature to fight unless absolutely needed.

And what made it even more ironic is that he is dating Vance hopper…

“Vance (I will beat the fuck outta you for messing up my game) hopper”

No one knew that they were dating except their parents but Bruce decided to be publicly out as Bi. His parents took a little time but they were supportive of him. But they were a little worried because it was Vance he was dating but they still loved him.

His little sister and Vance actually got along well so she thinks he’s a great guy.

But the town definitely didn’t like it when they found out about Bruce…

True he lost a bit of respect from some of the boys on his team and girls tried to say that they could change him and shit but that didn’t stop him from being himself.

Vance was always teasing him for being too soft on people and how he is a golden boy all the time.

(And that’s why he loves him)

But today wasn’t Bruce’s day.

He woke up 35 minutes late,

he spilt milk on his outfit trying to make cereal so he had to go change into something else,

he had to bike to his school so he was smelling like sweat, and worse of all…during the whole school time, He didn’t get to see Vance at all.

Bruce was about to lose it with each passing second of the day. Once school was over, he decided to ride his bike to Grab’n’go for some snacks and a drink.

Something to be happy about during this shitty day.

Bruce got himself some Skittles and a orange Fanta. As Bruce started to walk out the shop , he was already starting to feel a bit better about it.

But of course, life isn’t that easy is it?

Guy 1: “Hey guys look, it’s that fairy.”

Bruce: (Shit…Not them. ANYONE but them.)

Guy 2: *laughs like the idiot he is* “yeah you’re right”

Guy 1: “Hey Bruceyyy”

Bruce: “Please don’t start this…I’m NOT in the mood for your games.”

Bruce tries to walk to get his bike but they kept following him. He was starting to lose it.

Guy 1: Awww why?? You’re going to see your fairy boyfriend??

Bruce: (I have to stay calm…)

Bruce tries to get to his bike faster but they were right behind him.

Guy 2: “Or maybe he’s going to go see his little fairy friends”

Bruce: (I HAVE TO STAY CALM)

Bruce felt a hand grab his shoulder and pushed him forward.

Guy 1: “Or maybe he has no one because he’s just a…little…Faggot.”

Something snapped in Bruce and before he even registered what he was doing, he turned around and flew his fist into guy 1’s nose.

*CRACK*

The guy fell backwards at the punch and guy 2 caught him. The guy’s nose started to bleed and it was bleeding a lot. He looked at Bruce with angry eyes and gritted teeth.

Guy 1: “YOU’LL PAY FOR THAT YOU FUCKING QUEER”

The two guys got up and started to sprint towards Bruce.

Before Bruce even processed what was going on at the moment, he started to swing at whoever was near him.

He managed to punch the other one in the face until guy 1 kicked Bruce in the stomach. Bruce bent forward and the two guys started to kick and punch him on his body.

They were kicking him mostly on the ribs.

One of them punched his nose and Bruce felt the bone crack.

It hurts. It hurts him so much, but he sees a opening to grab his arm.

So Bruce takes it. He grabbed guy 1’s arm and punched his elbow up.

*SNAP*

He heard the snap of the arm and the scream of pain that the guy let out as he fell to the ground.

That made the other guy stop in his tracks, looking at the guy’s arm in shock.

But Bruce didn’t stop.

Bruce grabbed guy 2’s head and gave a hard punch to his face. The guy stumbles back and starts to run away. A crowd was forming around them but all Bruce could think about was how angry he was at that moment.

Bruce got on top of the guy who was still sitting there in pain and just started to punch the shit out of his face while the guy was crying more and started to plead for him to stop. Each punch was like a weight lifted off of him.

Bruce would usually feel bad for this, but he didn’t. He felt better than before and that was a good feeling for him.

But that feeling didn’t last because the pain started to kick in and it kicked in HARD.

As Bruce started to sprint away from the store, the pain he felt was getting worse and worse by the second.

He’ll get his bike later.

Once Bruce arrived at his house, he checked the garage to see if his family was there. Thankfully they weren’t there.

As Bruce stumbles to his bathroom, he just slid down the wall and just cried. He was in too much pain to clean himself up.

He hated it. He hated how he wasn’t normal. He hated how he lost some of his friends. He hates how he was a push-over. He hated how he lost respect. He hated how much pain he was in. He hated it.

As Bruce just cries his pain away, he heard a bang on his door.

*BANG, BANG, BANG*

What if it was the police? What if it was the guys and their parents waiting outside?

Whatever it was, Bruce was scared. He slowly got up and started to walk towards the front door of his house.

*BANG,BANG,BANG,BANG,BANG*

The banging started again but louder.

Bruce: “ALRIGHT, I GET IT-”

When Bruce opened the door, he saw Vance standing there. Vance’s face turned from annoyance to shock and worry.

Vance: “What the hell?…”

Vance cupped Bruce’s face softly while he walked inside and shut the door with his foot.

As Vance held Bruce’s face with shaky hands , Bruce started to feel his eyes start to water again.

He felt heartbroken that his boyfriend had to see him like this.

Vance: “Holy fuck, Bruce! I heard the rumors but I didn’t believe them! Babe, what happened?!”

Bruce couldn’t hold it in.

He couldn’t stop himself from crying and stuttering as he tried to say what happened.

Bruce: “I-I couldn’t…I t-tried to walk away…”

Bruce couldn’t say anything from his sobs. His lungs burning from the crying before.

Vance: “Shhh…It’s ok..it’s ok..”

Vance wasn’t much of a hugger but he knew Bruce needed one.

Vance gave Bruce a big bear hug and slowly rubbed his back as he heard his sobs starting to go away and his breathing slowly go to normal.

Vance: “Let’s go clean you up…you look like shit”

Vance took Bruce’s bloody hands and walked him upstairs to his bedroom.

Bruce: “Vance, you don’t have t-”

Vance: “Shut up and sit down.”

Vance made his sit on the bed just like how Bruce does to him. Vance already knew where the supplies were since Bruce takes care of him a lot.

Vance: “You might feel a little sting.”

Bruce: “I play baseball, I’m pretty sure I know how it works”

Bruce let out a hiss of pain as Vance brought a disinfectant wipe to his knuckles. He definitely felt worse at his ribs but it still stung.

Vance started to bandage his knuckles and the uncomfortable silence was loud. Bruce knew he had to say something.

Bruce: “…Some guys were calling me some shit.”

Vance: “What did they say?”

Bruce: “…They were calling me fag and shit like that. Saying that I had no one and shit.”

As those words left his mouth, he felt the aura shift as Vance gave a angered look at Bruce.

He knew the anger wasn’t towards him but it was still scary as shit-

Vance: “Those fuckers don’t know what the hell they’re talking about. They are just a bunch of bastards that think it’s cool to bully you all because you’re Bi.”

Bruce let out a little chuckle as Vance started to wipe his face.

Vance knew that Bruce’s nose was probably broken but all he could do was clean and bandage.

After Vance was done wiping Bruce’s face, he motioned for him to lift his shirt to clean the scar that was showing a bit over the neck drop.

As Bruce lifted his shirt, he saw a shocked face from Vance and that encouraged him to look down himself to see if it got worse.

It in fact, did get worse.

The bruises were more visible as they started to darken on his skin. The scar was there but the bruises were worse.

Bruce stared at Vance and saw anger and sadness in his face. He tried to put on a poker face but it didn’t work.

Vance whispered to himself.

Vance: “Those sons of bitches are fucking dead…”

Bruce knew that they were in deep shit but he didn’t care at the moment. All he cares about is Vance. He felt Vance wipe the scar on his chest and it didn’t hurt as much as the first wipe.

Once Vance was done patching Bruce up, he lays down and gestured for Bruce to lay down with him. As Bruce was resting on top of him, Vance was rubbing his back and put little kisses on his forehead. And for the first time that day, Bruce felt happy.

He loved how Vance would give him forehead kisses to make him feel better.

Even if Bruce was a bit taller than him, It was like little fireworks each time his lips made contact with his skin. He felt safe in Vance’s arms and felt like all of his problems were floating away with each peck.

Vance: “You don’t let what those shitheads said get to you. You are nothing like what they said you are. You are smart, talented,hot, and you are a good guy. And if they can’t see it. It’s their loss.”

Bruce felt calm as sleepiness washed over him. As Bruce starts to go to sleep, the last thing he heard was a muffled sentence.

Vance: “I love you…”

Bruce smiles as he falls asleep.

*A week later*

Vance and Bruce were walking together and just talking about their science project they have to do together.

Vance: “I didn’t understand jack-shit Mrs.Rockwell said about the assignment.”

Bruce: “That’s why I’m here to help you :)”

Bruce’s scars were healing nicely and the bruises already started to fade a bit. His nose was a bit broken but he was fine.

As they were walking, Bruce saw the two guys on the other side of the street. They both looked like shit. The guy’s arm was in a cast and his face was better but there were a few bruises here and there.

I guess Bruce was staring for too long because Vance looked up and saw them too. As Vance stared at the boys, his face of confusion slowly turned into realization at the situation.

Vance: “…Are they the fuckers who hurt you?”

Bruce: “Vance, let’s just go-”

Vance: “Bruce…Are those the fuckers who did it?”

Bruce: “…………….maybe?…Wait, hold up- VANCE!-”

But it was too late. Vance was already storming towards them. Fists balled up tightly as his face turned into pure rage.

Well this will go great, won’t it-

Vance: “HEY SHITHEADS!!”

Guy 1: “What now-”

Vance didn’t give him time to ready himself before he punched one of them in the face.

As Vance was beating them up, Bruce was just watching it all unfold. He would usually try to pry Vance off but he didn’t want to.

Vance: “AND IF YOU EVER TOUCH BRUCE AGAIN, I WILL FUCKING KILL YOU!”

After Vance was done BRUTALLY beating the shit out of them, someone threatened to call the cops and Bruce didn’t want to get in trouble again so with out thinking, he grabbed Vance’s hand and sprinted away.

They went into a nearby alley way and hid there while both of the boys were gasping for air.

Bruce turned to look at Vance with the most upset face he tried to make as he was catching his breath.

Bruce: “WE COULD GET ARRESTED NOW VANCE!- AND I AM NOT GONNA GET IN TROUBLE WITH MY MOM AGAIN…”

Vance: “Yeah but they deserved it so I see it as a positive.”

As Bruce and Vance were catching their breath in the alley way, without thinking Bruce held Vance’s waist and pulled him into a gentle kiss. It was a soft gesture that was also passionate in a loving way.

After they parted, Vance started to kiss his face and give little pecks on his neck with a small smile that Bruce could feel with each small kiss.

There was only one thing going through Bruce’s mind as he was holding Vance in his arms.
