Charon was born on the streets, taken care of by drifters until they deemed they needed to drift in a different direction from a child. They weren't his parents. They didn't have responsibility towards him. No, Charon had no one to take care of him but himself. And that was fine.
He scrounged up what he could, used what others didn't need, and started getting getting minimum wage jobs as soon as people would hire him. He was hired on as simple things. But, with no formal education, he didn't have much of a chance for anything else.
Until he started overhearing dark secrets. Secrets that people wanted other people dead. And, well, they'd pay for it. Charon had two choices: turn these secret holders in and probably get hit himself for being a rat. Or get the job done.
He became a psuedo-hit man. Getting paid to kill others. It got him what he needed. He never liked that he did it, but it was what life handed him. It was fine, for a bit.
But police figured out what he was. And he was the subject of a man hunt across the united states as he fled. He was shot in a confrontation and crawled to an alley to die. He was born there, he would die there.
Death approached this dying man and felt pity for his soul. He could hear Hell calling for this man but.... Charon had been dealt a bad hand. Most people who were dealt a bad hand like this were negotiated away to purgatory- or they were condemed to hell. And Death usually didn't care. But Charon reminded him so much of another.....
Death squirreled Charon a once-in-a-blue-moon deal he couldn't refuse. He'd become a soul collector. One who would be tasked with collecting souls that Death missed and became ghosts. It was true what they said, no one could be everywhere at once. He had to collect the souls of ones who were harmful to mortals. But the ones who were minding their own buisness? Up to him as to what to do with them.
Charon accepted.
Death introduced himself as Derek, a being capable of splitting his soul off into multiple bodies so he could do his job. Derek and Charon became close as Derek taught the new soul collector the ropes. Charon felt Derek understood him, and was the closest thing that Charon had towards being a friend. Even more....
But it all came crashing down one morning. Andrea, a vampiric former guardian of Death when Death was still a new, fragil soul, came to Charon in tears. The higher ups could not find Death or his soul anywhere. And when they looked..... They found the world had created a new Death. A young girl who said her name was Dedra.
Derek was gone, as good as dead. Charon now forces himself to focus on the task he has been given. Pick up the slack from the new Death and gather souls as best he can. He just tells himself that when he's paid back his debt... He'll look for Derek's soul himself. The higher ups had to have missed something. Overlooked a small detail- something. Derek couldn't be gone.
ABOUT THE SOUL IN A JAR:
Watson was gifted to Charon when Derek was still around. This soul seems to be trapped in a magic jar that makes the heavenly powers unable to detect the soul or judge it properly, and therefore was left until it could be judged. The jar cannot be opened, no matter how hard anyone tries. It can't be broken either. It seems invincible. Derek wanted Charon to "take care" of Watson, as he didn't have time to watch over the soul anymore.
"See that fusion up there?"
"Yeah. What the hell is a dumb fusion doing on White Diamond's throne?"
"Shhhh!!! Not so loud!"
"What? Are you....Scared of that fusion? Hah! They don't look so tough-"
"Charoite! You're gonna get in trouble!"
"How? Is the big bad fusion gonna try to fuse with me? I'm soooo scared! I bet I could take that dainty thing-"
"Hm. I wasn't really aiming for looking dainty. I was aiming for.... Imposing."
"A-And you do look imposing, my Dolomite! P-Please forgive Charoite for her insult, she's new!"
"I'm not sorry! I meant every word!"
"Really. Including the part where you thought you could.... hm.... 'take' me?"
"Charoite no-!"
"You bet! I'll woop your fancy- GGGGKKKK-!"
"Hm. Didn't even get to finish her sentence. Please take her gemstone to a reformation barracks. And inform her of her mistake. I will not be so forgiving next time."
"Y-Yes, my Dolomite!"
Re-design of Druzy Quartz, the fusion of Orphiment and Kunzite. I like this much better than the last design so this is the new canon design.
An updated, better design for a character I never talk about; Ella!
Ella is the very first human and Atlanean hybrid born when Atlantis reappeared. Due to this, she was shunned and mocked. Or worse, simply studied due to her unique nature. She was even attacked for being born the way she was, loosing her eye to a purist. This made Ella a very angry, volatile woman. She was a ticking time bomb, ready to explode.
And she did.
One day, Ella came to find a very odd sword. When she grasped it, a woman appeared before her. Her sweet, honeyed words offering to help her destroy those who would harm her. And others like her.
She took the sword and killed but one person. The one who took her eye, as they had never been punished for their actions. Ella.... Ella had always hated them but.... To take their life? Ella could not face what she had done, and abandoned the sword in a forest. Hoping to forget what had happened.
But she couldn’t. As the years went by, she noticed she did not age. She watched as years passed, and researched the spirit that had dug her claws into her. Ella found that she had been effected by the curse of the Viking Queen, to live forever until she was killed for her crimes.
So, she lived on. Watching as she became a myth, the second wielder of the sword.
She watched as whispers of a third wielder came.... And came to her doorstep one day stating that Simone was gone. She wishes she had done it, so this obviously tired man could have avoided the abusive woman’s claws into him.
She lives in solitude now, bitter and not sure what to do with herself. All she knows is that she can’t trust anyone, and that she will never die.

Hey did you guys know I still draw sometimes? Anyway. Have my durge from BG3 (uncolored bc fuck that); the Great Old One Warlock named Chorus. They are a tiefling in game but I like to think of them as a unicorn. Them in game under the cut (I do use a few appearance mods):
I decided to do something that would make 13 year old me happy and draw a my little pony au I loved thinking about when I was younger.
This is a no rainboom/element swap au! This will be the first of a few posts cause I want all the main six separate to explain how their lives are different with their different destinies.
First up is the one that hasn’t changed a bit since I first developed the au when I was 13 is Pink “Pinkie” Quartz Pie, the element of Kindness, and her lovely diamond dog wife Roxie!
When Pinkie was a filly, a cave in caused her to be separated from her rock farming family. Trying to find another exit, she found a Diamond Dog pup about her age also separated from her group. Pinkie made great friends with this Diamond Dog, and the pup- named Roxie- helped her find an exit.
Her family was at first shocked and angry to see Pinkie associating with a dangerous Diamond Dog. However, Pinkie managed to explain that the pup and her family were of no danger to the ponies. In fact, they could even help them run the rock farm even better with their ability to sniff out gems. A peace accord between the Diamond Dogs of the mine and the Pie family was struck, and the Diamond Dogs became co-owners of the quarry the Pies owned.
This is how Pinkie earned her cutie mark. It represents her talent for diplomacy and helping/creating friendships with ponies and other species with an emblem from the first species she helped- Diamond Dogs.
She married the Diamond Dog who helped her that day later in life, and she moved to Ponyville to help Roxie try to achieve her dream of being a professional baker. Plus, Ponyville is in a great spot for her to try to craft some great friendships between ponies and not ponies!
Roxie is very stoic and quiet but loves her smol pink pony wife very much. She speaks great english unlike her show counter parts, but speaks with a thick accent that somewhere between russian and french.
"yes, yes, it's very pretty. Now put it down before you poof yourself....."
maybe taff and my dolomite? if that's okay!
Of course! Taaf got distracted by the cane shshh
I have no regrets depecting B*tch crystal's..... "weapon".
He only uses his spear like this; stabbing it in the ground and then using it as a stripper pole.
TIME FOR ME TO FINALLY SETTLE ON A DESIGN FOR THIS CONCEPT I’VE HAD FOR YEARS. NEW DECADE, NEW ME.
Legends tell of a man who collects souls deep in the forest. Be good, children, or The Soul Collector will swipe your soul away....
Sabres is a crossbreed. Born to a one night stand between a water fae and an Atlantean, Sabres was raised by his fae mother and his other fae relatives. His father didn’t have a chance to fight for his custody, being killed by Sabres’s mother after a confrontation.
Since he was a tiny guppy, Sabres has been.... Different. Even amongst other fae. He’s always been interested in death. Nothing too out of the ordinary for the fae who study necromancy. But, Sabres seemed to take his fascination... In a different direction.
He knew that his father was killed by his mother. His mother was open about it to her son. But.... Sabres wanted to know his father. Know his Atlantean side.
He studied up on magic and, as a teenager, finally could cast a spell to contact the dead. What he found was.... horrifying.
His father was in Hell. He wasn’t a perfect man, by any means, but he wasn’t terrible either! (At least, not by his standards.) Sabres was confused. How could his father be in hell if he wasn’t too bad?
Sabres wanted to save those who weren’t bad, like his father. He couldn’t save his father now, but he could save others! He had to. He would find a way to sneak the “less bad” into the demanding heaven. Or at least find a way to lessen Heaven’s standards.
He started to tinker in dark magic, turning himself undead at some point so he could have more time to study up on magic. After Primrose’s confrontation with him, Sabres found the last bit they were missing. He found a way to get souls into a “neutral state”. They wouldn’t fight against him, they wouldn’t commit more “sins”, they wouldn’t do anything in this state. Not even think or speak or anything. But, that was fine. Once Sabres found a way to sneak them into Heaven, they could catch up on lost years!
Sabres uses his magic to keep him and his souls undetected by the “higher-ups”. So many souls have gone missing over many years. But, the higher-ups never noticed. At least, all of the higher-ups except for Death. It was his job to find souls after all.....
Now Sabres is in crunch mode. Someone’s bound to come looking for Death sooner or later. Maybe he could use the man as a captive? A ransom so Heaven would lessen his standards? He isn’t sure, but he knows he needs to figure it out soon. Or else fail. and waste his life’s work.
oh my gosh Zipper is so fucking CUTE. it says she's an unknown hybrid- why is that?
Zipper is an orphan. She was forfeited by an unidentified individual to a hospital, and scooped up by the system shortly after. They all thought maybe she was just a Nycter (a batfolk); but tests showed she had plenty of other races in there. It's highly likely her bio parents were hybrids themselves.
Some of the races in her blood include: Nycter, Cartoon, Gnome, and Triton
