That infamous prison escape.
If you're a Snape fan, you've probably had that moment scrolling through some Marauders posts and thought: Did these fans even read the books? Or maybe you've come across those wild comments where Snape gets turned into some kind of full-on villain, while James and Sirius get treated like flawless, saint-like heroes.
It’s like they’re talking about a totally different Harry Potter series! Sometimes, you’ve gotta wonder—do they even know what really happened in the story? Are we even talking about the same James Potter here? And honestly, comments like this kind of answer that question:
A lot of Marauders fans (not all, but definitely some) have no clue what really went down with the Marauders and Snape, who they really were, or what role they actually played in the story.
They’re just here because, let’s be real, the Marauders fandom is super appealing. It’s full of people their age, with tons of fantasy, drama, epic fanfics, hot character fan-casts, tragic love stories, and endless TikTok edits, roleplays, and cosplays. It’s fun, it’s exciting, and it makes you feel like you belong to something special.
With all this awesome fan content, why would anyone go out of their way to actually read the books and face the not-so-glamorous truth? The Marauders in the books are mostly about petty fights, bullying, and not much in the way of exciting, romantic storylines.
And that’s exactly why the hate for Snape has gotten so intense. Snape doesn’t fit the dreamy, tragic aesthetic they’re looking for. He’s basically just there to be the “bad guy,” so they have someone to hate and blame everything on. That way, their perfect heroes get to stay flawless, and Snape can just be the villain in their headcanon.
I have a more comprehensive post here about the (rebranding of the Marauders and, consequently, the need to villainize Snape)
I’m saying this AS a deku stan. my literal favorite character in the whole goddamn world. what HAPPENED to him?
where is the "kacchan and everyone else" deku…
"what would kacchan do?"
"in the heat of battle I can't help but mimic you because you're my image of victory"
"all might was my hero, but you were the one actually in my life"
“I always chased after you”
"I can't imagine a world in which kacchan doesn't exist"
the "control your heart" deku.
the deku that only ever looked at katsuki with an awestricken, admirable expression. the deku that was so obsessed with katsuki.
katsuki was deliberately targeted by the villains because of this… I liked that deku was flawed in this way. that he prioritized someone in his life that was awful to him in the past. it’s one of the things that made him so interesting! that he was SO hopeful and so determined to be friends with katsuki again. (it added a comedic contrast to their dynamic too. like ‘wow he still wants this guy in his life so badly despite the bullying?’ YES.)
deku fans, deku haters, EVERYONE used to have something to say about his katsuki obsession. it was a repeated, central discussion for YEARS. even in parodies by non-shippers, deku’s katsuki obsession was constantly poked fun at. even if you hated bkdk you couldn’t deny how dedicated deku was to katsuki.
WHAT HAPPENED????

Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville and even to some extent Severus were heroes. What did James do to contribute against a war? Fought a few death eaters? Alright many of other order members did that, even if they weren’t as strong as James.
But why do people call him a hero? For standing straight against Voldemort? That's it? For trying to protect his son? I suppose Narcissa is a hero too then.
James is the perfect example of a man who wants to appear noble and heroic, but is only reckless, arrogant and idiotic in reality. His character is so shallow. I have a hard time seeing him as the good guy, because we didn’t see his change and because the only things we know about him are decent at best.
Don't downplay the effort of spending years stalking a girl, chasing after her even though she told him to get lost, lying to her by saying he wasn’t a bully anymore just to be with her—when he actually still was—getting her pregnant before turning 20, and contributing his sperm to the creation of a fetus. It’s a super elaborate plan that took him about 10 years; it’s quite impressive that it worked out. Too bad he ended up dead for being an idiot.
if you’re open to a doodle suggestion while doing your challenge, would you grace us once more with sapphic Drarry?
I’m obsessed with their designs 😩💕 Also curious what type of outfits they’d each rock (not gonna lie I 100% bet that Harry would still dress similarly to her male counterpart).
SAY LESS
I definitely agree!! I don't think there'd be much of difference for Harry. I imagine she still grew up with Dudley's (even more oversized now) hand-me-downs and would probably feel very awkward in super feminine clothes. I think she'd still prioritized comfort over style and lean into masc looks when older too. (Like baggy jeans, sweaters & hoodies, oversized t-shirts/ plaid shirts/ jackets, sneakers)
As for Draco, I don't think she'd be all that different either. I feel like during Hogwarts she'd still want to emulate Lucius, albeit maybe more willing to flaunt her status through high-quality clothing and jewelry. Post-war though I can see her adopting more of Narcissa's simple but refined style combined with formal mugglewear. (Lots of blouses and blazers and heeled boots for sureee)
