I love when weird older women step up as mother for younger weird female characters
the secret saturdays omniverse crossover rlly incapsulates everything omniverse does wrong with women in how they interpreted drew. 1. women arent allowed to look like anything other than early 20s shitty western hentai characters even if theyve had kids and are probably in their 40s, 2. women arent allowed to do any saving besides minor mid battle sheilding even though in her very first appearance drew saved her husband's ass and then kept doing it from then on, and 3. all attractive/available women must be attractted to ben in some way, even drew who is married with a son his age (she does not opt out of most dangerous gameshow and puts effort into it) which is like so insane because drew is SO conscious about children and the wellbeing of children, shes always the first to point out zaks age, and shes extremely dedicated to her husband, so why would she throw that all away to marry a teen boy whos the SAME AGE as her son. im so sorry secret saturdays fans im sorry they did this to her

THAT WAS SUCH AN INSANE SHOT, WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THAT?!
my sweet SWEET man
Another thing that probably dismantles the whole "Snape is abusive" argument, or rather the hypocrisy behind it.
Filch.
That man insults the children far, far more than Snape does, and constantly threatens physical punishment (and apparently only stopped by Dumbledore very recently).
And even he's not treated as abusive by the narrative, just nasty and unpleasant (and a little ridiculous in his extremity).
If people care so much about the children being abused, they should focus on Filch. Yet nobody ever brings him up in those conversations, because it's not about discussing what's qualified as abuse to the wizarding world (as Filch isn't considered abusive, while Umbridge is, even though he sucked up to her too he's not nearly as hated by the fandom nor by the students iirc), it's literally just people choosing to bash on Severus Snape (and god knows why they have so much hatrid for him)
zuko getting brutally attacked by very murderous frogs
wait if the jinx surviving theory is true it gets rid of the one problem i had with the finale: that letting herself die was the answer. i hate stories about suicidal characters that end up sacrificing themself for the narrative. it teaches people that dying is the answer when it never is. and i love the idea that if jinx survived it means she saved herself and deciding life was worth living and she was still deserving of it. (this also applies to timebomb if ekko was the one who convinced her of that <3)
