"Is everything in order?"

"Yes, young master, the flowers are now in place, the food has been prepared and tested." The servant bowed his head. The Al Asim's young heir smiled to himself, pleased.

"Good! Everything should be perfect!" He said, his crimson eyes lighting up.

Kalim looked especially excited with the upcoming event, a smile on his face as he went around to check that everything was alright.

"Are you satisfied with the results, young master?"

"...yes. I hope he is too."

(Name)...

That one name of the person he loved. The one who never failed to make his heart skip a beat, putting a smile on his face and making him feel so happy. Being with them is nothing but pure bliss to Kalim. Every moment they spent together sent him to cloud nine.

The best feeling in the world indeed.

He'd do absolutely anything just to be with them. But so would Jamil.

Kalim isn't as oblivious as most would think. Perhaps it was because of his dear friend's overblot that opened his eyes to his feelings. He could clearly see the adoration in Jamil's eyes everytime he looked at them.

"Do you like (Name)?" Kalim asked and the answer came quick.

"Yes." 

That was all he needed to hear. 

Jamil loves (Name) and Kalim was his wingman. But he never told anyone about his own feelings. Not even Jamil...but some were still able to see through him.

"Why?" Azul had asked him one day. "You know he'll stand back if you said it."

"I know. If I did...he would've smiled and offered his help. I don't want to take something away from him again." Was his only reply.

It pained him more than anything to watch them fall in love. Seeing Jamil spend time with the one he likes, receiving the love that would've been his, and yet the worst part was seeing the smile that he cherished directed at someone other than himself, sent a thousand bolts of lightning to his heart. 

But above it all, what hurt the most was when (Name) accepted. 

"Kalim."

"Yeah?"

"I think I love Jamil."

"Re-Really? That's good news, (Name)!"

"Congrats, Jamil, (Name)! I wish you all the best of years together. From your best man and friend. Cheers! To the newlyweds!"

"To the newlyweds!" 

The smile on their face was enough for Kalim. Jamil's happy and so is (Name). That was enough. He was satisfied.

...except he wasn't.

Late that night, after the celebration when all the guests had gone back to their homes and it was only him left...a bitter smile made its way to his face and a tear escaped his eye.

"If I didn't stand back...if I told him you were mine and confessed to you...would you have been mine instead? Would I be the one you kiss? Would you look at me like that too?"

Kalim sighed, putting down the wine glass he held onto a nearby table.

"Well, at least you have Jamil now. He'll make you happy...keep you satisfied. I wish you all the best.."
