Chapter 14

Immortal Dilemmas

Klaus was just overwhelmed, he has lived for over a thousand years and now there is apparently an entire society of magic that he had no clue about existed? He could see he wasn’t the only one that was but he noticed in his befuddled state that his little brother was one of the few that was calm…oh he was so going to get it!…once Klaus relearned how to stop hyperventilating. Rebekah was fairing better but was still fairly astonished, she had thought there was nothing that could surprise her anymore than a day of knowing Hailey Potter and the impossible seems to happen every few hours!

Stefan was trying to avoid making eye contact with Klaus…he knew he was in for it. Though he knew he should also address a few things to the room explanations were needed…for him not to have to beat a few hybrids to a pulp for making eyes at Hailey. “I think it’s time I tell you guys the full story now that we don’t have to worry about others. You see after that mission I had in Oregon I came across Hailey walking along the road. At the time I didn’t know why but I felt a pull towards her and pulled over and offered her a ride to town. I didn’t know she was a witch and she didn’t know I was a vampire. We felt compelled to try and connect and tell each other our woes. Soon enough we ended up at a bar, there was more talking…and drinking.”, he said that last part in a wince when he saw his mate’s uncle and brother glare at him, even the little guy was giving him an angry pout! He quickly moved on to hopefully dig himself out, but it seemed his sweetheart also wished to chime in. He couldn’t stop his grin to her if he tried.

“We found a hotel and well…we were able to make the adorable little bundles Stefan is holding.”, she blushed out. She wasn’t ashamed of what they had done and what they made but it was still uncomfortable to make it known. She could see the hybrids in the room were baffled by the idea that a vampire could father her children. But it slowly turned into astonishment, the hybrids could hear her heartbeat, she wasn’t lying! A few stepped forward to look at the children closer and was surprised to see Stefan tuck them closer to him and snarl at them. He was calmed down by Hailey placing a hand on his arm. They took a tentative and testing step forward and weren’t snarled at. One definitely looked like her but the other looked so much like Stefan, even then they can see pieces of their mom and dad in either of them.

Stefan and Hailey looked in glee as everyone had finally realized that these were legitimately and biologically HIS. Hailey continued as the little story wasn’t quite done yet. “The night we made the twins was also the night we unknowingly became mates. But when I woke up Stefan had gone.”, the room could hear silent sorrow in her voice and the room turned to glare at Stefan. Though they were shocked to see Stefan with a sorrow expression. They hadn’t yet had the chance to talk about that but it needed to be addressed. She knew she was selfish for bringing it up but it still had hurt a bit that he left even though she partly knew he had to. He gently cupped her face and put their foreheads together, a gesture that is quickly becoming something that they would be known for to calm each other down. Stefan parted a bit with remorse written on his face.

“I’m sorry I left that way. But please know that at the time I thought that me being away from you would be better for you. It killed me that I couldn’t wake up to see your face every day and I had missed you so much that I even began to dream about you. I won’t as for forgiveness but please know that everyday I yearned to be with you.”, Stefan waited for her decision. He was rewarded with a soft kiss which he eagerly reciprocated. She had a blush but again had a smile that melted him.

“I understand it was better for us to be apart at the time. My world was already in chaos and it hearing about my pregnancy and relationship with a creature would have drove it towards an edge. Fate had planned for us to meet now and I’m not one to look in the horse’s mouth.”, they almost got lost in each other’s eyes until Remus had cleared his throat pointedly and said with his eyes to finish the rest. Hailey turned scarlet at the reminder of an audience but continued.

“In my world that registers us as a married couple and they make it register to this side as well. I didn’t know about this until later. In order to understand this next bit is to know that I am the Mistress of the Death. I am immortal but I don’t require blood and there really isn’t a way to kill me. Being the mistress essentially means that I have the power to avoid death and communicate with it. I’m not sure what other powers come with it. There was a prophecy a long time ago that said that the Master of Death and a Creature of Death would be able to make the Heir of Death. That was how we got Caelan. But the thing is, is that I’m also Magic’s Chosen. Essentially I’m able to do things with magic nobody could ever do. Magic also wanted an heir for that mantle and so Magic’s Heir was born with the Heir of Death, Cedar. Not to mention in my world it’s also not so rare for a magical vampire male to get a witch pregnant. The thing is in my world I’m considered a big deal so I needed to move to the normal world. It really was just coincidence that me and Stefan had reunited here.”, she finished with an impish smile.

The pack now knew the story of the Potter-Salvatore family. It was an absolute marvel children had been born to a vampire father and a witch mother. Both races had been thought to absolutely despise the other and one race was cursed with never being able to procreate. Yet the Potter-Salvatore family had just destroyed that known fact. Children that are half witch and half vampire in a way similar to them, not really belonging to either kind so having to become their own. It made the hybrids want to protect the boys. Klaus saw the determination in their eyes and saw the same fierce protectiveness in his sister’s eyes that was usually held for those in their family. Stefan and Hailey had wormed their way into her heart and their children had quickly captured it. Nik had stepped up and did what no one believed he was capable of doing. He kneeled.

“I, Niklaus Mikaelson, Alpha of the Hybrids hereby swear that my pack will protect the Potter-Salvatore family. May our families remain allied and flourish in growth. Please know that by marrying Stefan this now makes Hailey Potter my sister and I will protect her as such. With their children as my nephews anyone that dares to harm them will meet an excruciating end.”, Klaus had said it so inspiringly that soon his hybrids had followed his example and his sister had as well. Rebekah couldn’t hold back her smile if she could, she finally had a sister and nephews to boot!Hailey then shocked them. She got to her knees and brought Stefan and the boys with her, took Klaus’s hand into hers and smiled to him. Her family came up behind her and also took a knee to show that they are behind her and support her. She took her other wand to raise her wand in the air.

“As you are now my brother I pledge a magical oath to your pack. I, Hailey Jamie Potter, hereby state that the Hybrid Pack is under our protection. Any who declared your enemy is now ours. As we are now family we are equal. You protect us and we protect you, so I say so mote it be!”, at her words her wand began to glow and shoot a spark of magic in the air. The oaths and vows done everyone in the room was contempt with the silence. But it was broken when Hailey’s stomach made itself known again. They all made their way to the large dining table and started the feast. Not worried about muggles Tonks had conjured a high chair for Teddy out of the chair next to her. Hailey had summoned the twins bassinet and charmed their bottles to hold themselves as the twins ate. They did it so nonchalantly that they ignored the awed looks from the pack. Ron had started plucking food so quickly that it startled the rest to start eating as well. They mostly talked about the new comers, the babies, what made the difference between them and wiccans, and how Remus was a slightly different werewolf. Rebekah was chatting with Hermione and Tonks was pleasantly surprised to find out there was a whole world of shopping that she had yet to explore. They were gonna have to wait a few days before they could have a shopping spree but plans were being made.

A gentle jingle went off that alerted that the boys were done eating. Hailey went to go and pick them up and began to burp them, Stefan followed and held Caelan while she held Cedar. She decided to move the bassinet closer to her seat so she hovered it over, she gestured to Stefan and both put their children in. She looked through the baby bag and found the boy’s pacifiers, it lulled them to sleep fairly quickly due to their tummies being full. Seeing the boys falling asleep reminded Remus to give Hailey her room key. “Cub, here’s yours I already have mine as do Ron and Hermione.”, Stefan looked confused at the key what was it for?

“Oh yeah, we checked the house. The outside is pretty good but the inside needs some color. The furniture needs to be bought, so we’ll look at catalogs tomorrow. We’ll need kitchen stuff and bathroom stuff but that’s about it. But everything will feel just like home once we start hanging some pictures and portraits around. We already put your bags in the Master bedroom Hailey, awesome part is that it connects to a smaller room that can be made into a nursery. Also, Remus, Tonks we made sure to make a door between yours and Teddy’s nursery.”, Ron and Hermione checked out the house. There was some workers fixing it up from the ministry that mostly just stayed out of their way. They were replacing paint, getting rid of mold, and remolding the house essentially to be more modern on the inside and keep the look on the outside. The man in charge said it would be ready by tomorrow morning as planned. They could have the workers do everything for them but then it wouldn’t feel like home.

Stefan was starting to feel worried, he didn’t want to be separated from his mate and sons! His vampire was beginning to go into a frenzy as well, they went so long without her being in a different building will definitely make him neurotic. But they already made arrangements for the night and he can’t just insist for her family to spend the night when it wasn’t his house. He felt his head spin but luckily his pseudo brother was having the same idea. A recovering ripper has very gentle control, Stefan having to deal with everything here is already pushing it as it is. Klaus has no doubt that Stefan could recover, he has trained and pushed himself so much to have a good control of his bloodlust he just needed a bit more time and of course the support of his mate. “How about you spend the night here instead, after today’s events I would rather we have everyone in one place?”, Klaus offered.

“That’s very kind of you but we wouldn’t want to impose-“, Remus didn’t want to impose on the man. He and Moony are not sure how to view Klaus yet. He was the brother to what is basically his nephew-in-law. It seems strange to view him as a nephew though since Klaus and Stefan were older than him. Perhaps being with them for the night would help. But there was a question that he needed an answer to before he could agree.

“Please you would be easing me and we have more than enough room for everyone.”, Klaus insisted. He could see Remus was willing to accept. He could see Stefan getting anxious while waiting for Remus’s decision.

“Well…thank you. But that does bring up what had occurred today, why on earth would you need to be eased and why did we hear about Hailey having been involved in some brawl?”, he was worried about what dangers she could encounter. They left the wizarding world because of its laws and fighting even after the war. They just wanted some semblance of peace.

“I’m afraid that would be my fault. While we trying to get Hailey something to eat earlier we ran into my biological brother Damon. Damon resents me for a lot of things and he was trying to get a ride out of me and he succeeded. He insulted me and then moved to try and seduce Hailey in front of me. Next thing I know he’s on the ground and I’m punching him in the face.”, Stefan said with guilt lacing his tone. But Remus understood as a creature himself. The nerve of that man to try and do that to a mated couple, mates were not common in their world but not unheard of they were considered sacred in creature law. But unless properly bonded, a wedding ceremony, their world would dismiss it. Hearing of this Damon’s actions reminded him of the stories he’s heard of noble men trying to force a mated woman into courting or marriage and completely ignoring the mating bond. To families like the Malfoy’s and Parkinson’s they deemed mating to be below them. He sneered at the thought of his niece being pursued by some deviant that didn’t respect the bond.

Remus looked to Stefan and saw how he still had a face of guilt, that needed to stop. “Get that look of guilt of your face! What you did was justified, a man, a brother no less is supposed to respect a relationship between a man and a woman. Your brother did not, in creature law it would have been justified for you to take his head off.”, he took a deep breath he needed to calm himself before Moony takes it as an invite to go and look for the other Salvatore brother. “What I’m saying is a man protects what he loves and you did that granted it could have been in a more controlled manner. But I will not scold you on defending Hailey and your sons. We are family now and we accept all of you, your brother is just something that if necessary will be dealt with.”, Remus said as he walked to Stefan and put a hand on his shoulders. Family means being there for each other through thick and thin it is not determined by genetics or blood. He gave Stefan an understanding smile, Hailey was close and drew them both for a hug with happy tears in her eyes. Both men were flustered but still had smiles.

“Hermione be a dear and call the hotel we’re staying here for the night.” Remus requested to Hermione she smiled and got the deed done. Klaus had send a group of Hybrids with Ron to go get the luggage but they didn’t expect to side-along apparate with him. He got a scolding from Hermione when he returned as the hybrids were very nauseous. The pack took turns patrolling easing Stefan, Klaus, and Remus. The hybrids usually stayed on the first floor to sleep. The couples roomed together in the barely used second floor. Stefan had his own room and was delighted to have his family sharing it with him. Hailey fed the boys once more before burping them with the assistance of Stefan. They put them to sleep in the bassinets Hailey hovered from the dining room. Stefan chuckled at the simple yet amazing use of magic. He wasn’t sure if Bonnie could even do something like that.

That night Rebekah and Klaus had a serious discussion. Klaus was nearly complete in making hybrids, enough to protect his family from Mikael but it brought the question of their brothers. He had no doubt that his brothers would want to inflict serious damage to him but he made a vow. Rebekah was with him, ever since Hailey entered Stefan’s life and in return them entering the family Klaus had seem closer to how he had been when they were human. He’s progressed so much and went to extreme lengths to ensure their family safety from father. She suggested that they undagger their brothers as soon as Hailey, the boys, and the rest of the family were in their new home. There was no way they were gonna risk their lives with their brothers thirst. She made some suggestions to make her brothers forgive Klaus faster.

Elijah would need to have a conversation with Klaus, a long one and once he sees how much Klaus resembles his old self things will be fine. Kol would be tricky as all he was ever interested in was witches and magic, though a light went up in Klaus’s head at that. After Kol gets his anger out he would reveal what he has learned, a whole world hidden filled with magic. Rebekah thought about it and it should be enough to placate Kol and after he’s controlled his hunger he could even meet the new witches and wizards of Mystic Falls. Rebekah had doubt on Finn, all he ever cared for was Sage and Klaus killed her. She slapped Klaus on the head and berated him for doing so but was momentarily shocked to see his confusion. He never killed Sage, it spurred Rebekah. That was it! All was needed was to locate Sage and Finn would be fine.

Before going to sleep that night for Klaus he was plagued with thoughts on his brothers. He knew that the bonds he had with Kol and Finn needed serious mending. After so long he just wanted his brothers back, for them to be safe and he didn’t care if he made them angry by doing so. What hurt would be knowing that he hurt his brothers in another way. They were well adverse with anger but he knew that like Elijah all his brothers needed a conversation perhaps multiple. But he wouldn’t stop until they realized that they were family and he needed them safe. They could hate him but he would never forgive himself if they thought in any way that they didn’t matter to him. Every sin and atrocities he had committed had been to protect his siblings, even if to them he was just their…bastard brother. He went to sleep hoping for the future to shed light on his family old and new.

Stefan felt completely content and slightly embarrassed. Hailey was dressed in ONLY a t-shirt with her underwear. We had similar sleeping attire but she seemed completely oblivious to what having her so close to him is doing. She was already asleep and they were spooning but he had a…problem. She would shift and accidentally rub against him taking him forever to will away his…stiffness. But he went to sleep happy. Every three hours the boys would wake demanding nourishment and attention. He and Hailey were grateful that they did it at the same time.

It did give him the chance to think through the night, he panicked at not being with Hailey for the night how would he handle her being in an entire different building. He brought it up with her and she was understanding she had actually planned to invite him to live in their mansion as they were married it made sense for them to live in the same home. It made him elated but he had to tell Klaus, they would need to make a new schedule to keep his training up. When the morning came there was more pack family cooking, Stefan cooked Hailey her share as she had to feed the boys. He was rewarded with a delightful thank you kiss that had everyone wolf-whistle at them. Stefan told Klaus about upcoming changes and Klaus was happy to make a few tweaks to their schedule. Someone rung the doorbell breaking the happy domestic atmosphere, Tyler stood up to answer it after getting a nod from Klaus. They all grew annoyed as the person started impatiently banging on the door.

They were beyond annoyed when it was opened to reveal Damon and Elena. They pushed pass Tyler as if they owned the place and marched to the dining table. Hailey’s family was confused as who they were until they saw the look on Hailey’s face. She looked uncomfortable and annoyed and that was enough for her family to know that these people were here to bring trouble. Remus was sitting in front of Stefan and nudged him to get his attention. He raised an eyebrow and Stefan let out an annoyed sigh that caused Damon to smirk at him and Elena to just look disappointed…but it turned into jealousy at seeing the new girl right next to Stefan. “Might as well get this out of the way, that is Damon, my brother, and that’s Elena Gilbert. Her blood, while human, let’s Klaus make hybrids.”, Stefan didn’t say anything more as that is all they were to him now. They nodded in understanding, Elena looked angry at Stefan’s introduction of her. It turned angrier when the new girl put a hand on Stefan as if to assure him of something.

Klaus was the one to ask the question. “Miss Gilbert I do believe that we don’t require you for another three days. What on Earth are you doing in my home, uninvited?”, he hoped and prayed to anyone listening that Salvatore hadn’t convinced her to lash out.

“Who is she and what do you have planned Klaus?”, the nerve of this human girl.

“I believe I already told you who she is Elena. She’s my wife and mother to my-“, Stefan was saying annoyed but then got cut off by his infuriating brother.

“That’s total crap and you know it Stefan!”, Damon was done with that stupid cover story.

“Well not that it’s any of your business but Hailey is a witch, not like Bonnie and her mind at all, and the boys are halflings. Half vampire, half wizard.”, he proceeded to explain their story for what felt like the fifth time. He ignored the disbelieving scoffs and annoyed glares from both of them. He got agitated when Elena had started to glare and march up to him and Hailey. She ignored the tables warning growls and then proceeded to rant.

“You can’t expect us to believe that a vampire knocked you up! I remember Stefan coming back from that mission and it was like three months ago. If he had been able to actually put a baby in you wouldn’t they need more time to actually be born?”, she ended with a scoff. Elena thought back on the night Stefan came back and he had those marks that had nearly driven her crazy! That damned new girl was the same girl that left those disgusting marks on Stefan! As soon as she was done she felt her hair begin to stick up on its ends. She looked and saw that little attention hogger had a blank face but her eyes were glowing and brewing a storm. She was about to make another remark when she was suddenly upside down in mid air. She went up with a startled yelp and felt as if a rope was hanging into her foot, she was flailing about that she didn’t notice the room go deadly silent as the Mistress of Death made her way in front of her. Damon was about to speed to them but was held back by Stefan and Tyler. Elena stopped struggling and shouting when a delicate hand and held her face in a painful grip.

“I don’t care what you believe it doesn’t change the fact that Stefan is the father to my sons. You are of great value to Klaus at the moment so I won’t harm you for your disrespect of my family. But know this I could kill you with two words, I could make you bite your tongue and fingers off with a single word, and with a single word I can make you feel as if your blood had been replaced with molted lava. Don’t ever believe that I will stand for your spoiled behavior, any disrespect or harm to my family and any nightmares you have I will make into a reality.”, her family was standing at attention just as they did in the war. Her voice used with Elena was reserved for death eaters and Voldemort. It put terror and respect though anyone soul who heard it, except for Damon and Elena they had pure terror on their faces. Stefan was practically drooling over how fierce Hailey had spoke. He and Tyler finally let Damon go when Elena had fallen in a very ungraceful heap on the floor.

Damon pulled Elena close to him once he got her off of the floor. She was enjoying being so close to Damon but she couldn’t ignore how Stefan was fawning over Potter. Elena was furiously jealous that girl was gorgeous, apparently had married Stefan, and given him children. She would have never been able to do any of that and standing in the same room as Potter makes her feel inadequate. She needed her gone now! Not to mention Potter is a threat, maybe she had Stefan under some spell, and maybe she was there to threaten Elena. She whispered to Damon her thoughts and Damon was set in at least leaving a mark. Damn Stefan again for getting everything! Elena was still pining over him and now he had a gorgeous witch on his arm! And apparently he was a father, that was Damon’s dream first, he’s older, he deserves to have what he wants too!!

The whole room was now ignoring their existence. It reminded Damon of when he was a human child and baby Stefan was born. Suddenly he didn’t matter, he was overlooked, he only got attention when he demanded it. But Stefan had some weird talent that made people pay more attention to him. He didn’t have everyone watching him and that had made a very resentful Damon. It had gotten slightly better once Stefan got older but the resentment never disappeared, it multiplied when Katherine came. He made his way to the little witch bitch and her brats. Stefan was across the room previously talking to Klaus and trying to ignore their presence. But his vampire face came in full force at seeing Damon near his wife and children.

Damon, who loves to torment Stefan at any chance he gets, leaned over Hailey when Stefan was being placated by Klaus to not go into a murderous rage. Flirting with her was getting him nowhere and he was staring to get annoyed. He put his hand on her shoulder and was planning to crush it with his enhanced strength to give her a good scare when the unexpected happened, at least to Damon and Elena. The twins while still infants where very in tune with energy, to the point that they could be empaths. They sensed their ‘uncle’s’ energy, it was filled with so much negativity that the twins had a flight or fight reaction. They were definitely their parents children as both reacted with fight. Caelan had hissed and protracted his baby fangs and bit the hand that intended to cause his mother harm. While Cedar in distress used his accidental magic to start throwing anything that wasn’t nailed to the ground at him bringing the situation to the whole room’s attention. Elena cursed under her breath.

Once he saw his brother’s hand on his mate he was engulfed with possessiveness at seeing it, protectiveness from seeing how much distress her and the twins are, and saw red as Damon had soon recovered and turn his anger from Caelan biting him and Cedar throwing things, to Hailey. Damon had started to protract his fangs to drain Hailey as punishment but was interrupted from it as his little brother had decided to punch him in the jaw. The punch was strong enough that it shattered his jaw and threw him into the opposite wall. Soon a whole team of hybrids had him pinned to the ground as the Original hybrid himself walked over and bent at his waist to speak to Damon.

“Now, I believe we have given you fair warning about trying to harm her. Not to mention the twins poor throats from crying. You have broken the agreement now, Elena dear I’m afraid he must be punished.”, Klaus said. His voice sounded nonchalant but his face gave off how angry he was. He had his eyes glowing and glaring down at Damon. He made a shooing motion with his hand and the hybrids took it as the sign to drag Damon to the dungeon. Damon was trying to break free but the hybrids didn’t let up. Elena started to panic.

“You can’t do that! We had a de-“, she was on the verge of having another crying hit when she was cut off.

“The deal was that I can’t hurt you or anyone you cared for. However it did not say anything about Rebekah and Stefan and definitely nothing about our new family members. They have total freedom to enact the punishment the elder Salvatore deserves.”, Klaus said with an impish smirk. He had his hands behind his back to indicate that it wasn’t his hands that would have Damon’s blood on them. She looked to Stefan ignoring his glare and ran to him and clenched at his forearms. Causing Hailey to glare at her.

“Stefan please! Be reasonable this is your-“, she was starting to shake him and plead with him. But Stefan was fed up and pushed her away. The action itself made Elena had a face on as if he had just slapped her.

“NOT MY BROTHER ANYMORE ELENA! He had his chance and he tried to hurt my wife and sons! Every instinct in me is begging for me to end him! Be grateful that Klaus hasn’t decided to kill him!”, he was fed up with Elena shrieking and grabbing him. It felt wrong to have her touch him. Elena fell to her knees with unshed tears in her eyes and looked shocked at Stefan’s disregard of her. She looked to Tyler in hopes of getting sympathy but he was avoiding her eyes and instead focusing on making the twins laugh at his silly faces. He and Ron were actually succeeding which made Hailey smile. At seeing her smile Elena had enough and stormed out of the mansion and back to the boardinghouse.

There she found the gang that had answered her calls, as usual. All of them had hesitant faces on after what happened at the grill. When Elena retold her story of what occurred they dreaded what she was going to ask of them. They were given warnings but of course Damon had to go and mess with the person that they were told under no circumstances to mess with. The girl was a new mother for goodness sakes, why would Damon and Elena try to hurt her?! Bonnie had asked the very question and Elena started on again. Caroline had enough of hearing how Elena was making it seem that they were attacked and of course making herself the damsel in distress. Especially since Elena’s plan was to break in the Mikaelson Mansion to get Damon.

“Elena! I would rather choke on my own intestines before risking my life for Damon!”, Caroline finally snapped. With tears in her eyes she finally turned her back to Elena and made her way to the door.

“We can’t just abandon him, Care! Think of everything he’s done for-“, Elena was ready to start one of her insufferable speeches about how Damon had redeemed himself but was cut off abruptly. Everyone deserved a second chance but…Damon Salvatore has had more than enough chances. His own brother had been able to see that why can’t Elena!?

“For YOU, Elena! For you and even then it’s for selfish reasons. Elena I have been your friend since forever but I can’t do it anymore. After everything he’s done, you still want him. He’s the reason your biological dad died remember! Because he was selfish and forced his blood onto you! He’s the reason I had turned into a vampire because he was taking advantage of me and didn’t want his walking blood bag to die! He killed Mason, Elena! You know the guy that babysat us until we were thirteen! The worst part is, is that I know that none of this changes how you feel towards him!”, she couldn’t hold anything back anymore! She was sobbing everything out and Elena had misty eyes but didn’t challenge anything she was saying. So much had happened, they all had lost so much, and what she named was only what she knew of. They all had their grievances with Damon but Elena seems to just wave them off.

“I know Elena that the reason you started liking Damon was because he didn’t care who he hurt in order for you to be alive, which unfortunately includes the rest of us! I’m done Elena, I’m done with everyone your supposed to care about being disposable side characters in your life!”, with everything out in the air the room was silent. Caroline had tear tracks on her face and she finally walked out of the room. She just couldn’t handle it anymore, Elena didn’t care and even encouraged Damon to try and hurt the new girl. A girl in which she knew had babies to mother, she just couldn’t believe Elena would be so selfish to want to get rid of that girl just because Stefan fell for her. She needed someone to talk to…hopefully Stefan wouldn’t mind another person on his side. Tyler had the right idea about staying with his new pack. Maybe she could finally get to know the Originals a bit more without Elena and Damon whispering in her ear. She made her stance known she wonders what the rest of them will do.

Chapter 20

Immortal Dilemmas

“Guys, s-something’s wrong! We got to go! Something’s wrong with Hailey!” Stefan said with a pained and panicked face. Ron hadn’t felt fear like that since the war but it was definitely bringing back memories. The dread he felt when Voldemort screamed that Hailey was dead and the denial he felt until it came crashing down when he saw Hagrid with a tear stained face holding what was thought to be her corpse. Thank the deities that it was not her time yet! The same feelings were coming back, he looked around and saw the same worried looks on the others. He made a gesture and quickly grabbed Stefan’s arm and ran out of the grill into the back alley. He saw that his brothers had caught on to what the plan was. Stefan looked near catatonic but there wasn’t any time to spare, quickly wizards paired off with vampires and apparated back to the Mickaelson Mansion.

Stefan looked like he was getting worse, when they landed he had keeled over and was grabbing his chest in pain. Bill made a move to try and help him back up but Klaus was quick to stop him, Bill was about to ask him why he stopped him when a furious roar erupted from Stefan. The vampires were quick to jump in front and cover the magicals. Klaus had to suppress a shiver when Stefan had stopped screaming and looked dead straight at the mansion. His worse fear for his brother had happened, something bad happened to Hailey and now Stefan’s vampire had gone feral. Before he could bark at his brothers to help hold back Stefan, he had sped into the mansion. They all chased after him but the scene in front of him filled him with dread.

Stefan was hovering over a disturbingly still Hailey and Kol had a piece of broken furniture lodged in his chest. It doesn’t kill them but it still takes them out for a small period of time. He rushed over to pull it out, it shouldn’t take too long for him to wake up. Klaus and his brothers started to frantically look around, the boys…where are the boys?! That’s when a cry of anguish was let out by Stefan. They were all in shock and ran towards him. He let out a hiss when they came too close. He was holding Hailey close to his chest, one hand in her hair and the other around her back but she wasn’t holding him back, she was limp.

She wasn’t breathing. The magicals were suddenly back at Hogwarts seeing the scene all over again and the vampires were being filled with anguish and rage at the loss of their new family. Ron took in a shaky breath in and tried to not let loose the tears that were threatening to spill he had to remind himself the facts. Hailey is the Mistress of Death, even if she dies she won’t stay dead.

“Everyone calm dow-“ he tried to explain before things could escalate.

“How can we possibly be calm?!? Hailey is gone and the boys are missing!!” Klaus’s eyes were flashing from how angry he was and how his wolf was trying to break out and tear out the throat of who was responsible for it.

“SHES NOT GONE-listen there are some things we haven’t gotten to tell you guys yet-“ Ron was cutoff as Hailey sucked in a large gasp and started coughing. Stefan, who still had his feral face on and tears running down, scrambled to put her in a proper position. Kol was coming back as well and was being brought up by his brothers. Hailey was flailing around and trying to get up from the ground but Stefan wasn’t letting her.

“THE BOYS!! WHERE ARE MY BOYS?!? WHERE ARE MY BABIES?!?” She was looking around frantically still trying to get out of Stefan’s arms until Percy had grasped her attention by grabbing her shoulders and barely flinching when Stefan snarled at him. The others were still trying to grasp reality as Hailey still had her human scent.

“Hailey! You got to tell us what happened!” Ever the logical one Percy wanted to know the situation before acting. But what Hailey said threw whatever calm response he could possibly have.

“Katherine happened! She must of took the boys, we got to go!”, she tried to again leave her husband’s arm but was confused on to why he wasn’t letting her go. Kol let out a growl at hearing the woman’s name.

“You just came back from the dead! You shouldn’t be moving around too much! Not to mention, Hailey we don’t know where they went how can we possibly find-“ Elijah tried to reason with her until she pulled out her pendant and muttered a spell which unleashed two golden arrows pointing.

“Little treat MACUSA put in for me, now- LETS GO!” She screamed to everyone, they looked about ready to flash out and have the magicals hitch a ride but Stefan wasn’t moving. Stefan was just sitting with her on the floor letting out wounded growls when she tried to leave. His feral look had yet to leave him. Hailey finally asked her burning question.“What’s going on, why isn’t he talking and why isn’t he letting me go?”

“It’s his vampire, love. It went feral from feeling your death and now it’s likely he won’t be able to do muck other than hover over you until you can snap him out of it.” Klaus said with some trepidation. In theory a mate should be able to calm and coax a feral ripper, so far it seems possible. Hailey took Stefan’s face into her hands and forced eye contact, her face was filled with determination but also with panic.

“Stefan-Stefan, look at me! Katherine did this, she tried to take me away from you, but she didn’t but now she’s trying to take our boys! Stefan please we need to get our babies back! We have to!” Something flickered in his eyes. It started to settle down but his eyes were still blood red, the vampire still had major control. He nodded his head obediently. She reached up and wiped the tear tracks on his face away and nodded back. She looked to everyone. “Follow the arrows! They can shows us the way even with your speed involved! Let’s get the boys back!”

The arrows led them down a familiar path and then it made sense why. Katherine had gone to where she first met the Salvatore brothers, the Salvatore Estate now Boardinghouse. They barged in and found her sitting on the ground. “It never gets old seeing Stefan all sweaty, hot and bothered. Just like when we first met, right Stefan?” Katherine had an amused and cocky smirk on her face which looked misplaced because of how ragged she looked. It quickly dropped as Stefan answered her with an animalistic snarl. She had on the same purple Henley and jeans on when she was impersonating Elena at the park. But it was bloody and torn with her jeans stained of mud and grime. She was practically malnourished from how little she had gotten to drink and her hair was slicked and matted with grime. But what made everyone’s hearts jump was that she had the boys right beside her.

They were crying their lungs out and displaying their natures. Cedar was levitating and throwing everything and Caelan had his baby fangs in full display trying to bite at her. But with Katherine so close to them she wasn’t affected by the chaos as well as keep them a distance to avoid biting. Seeing her just sitting there and daring to taunt them had Hailey boiling and her magic was beginning to react to her emotions.

“Katherine Pierce! You worthless bint! GIVE ME BACK MY BABIES!” The smirk that had dropped from Katherine’s face had come back full force with Hailey’s shouting. What could a human or witch do to her, Katherine Pierce. She’s survived over five hundred years on the run, she could survive a little girls tantrum. Everything this girl had should belong to her! Getting to raise her children despite being young and having Stefan at her side to do it, THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN KATHERINE. It was as if an outside force was speaking as her subconscious, making her be impulsive and more angry like she had to do it. She ignored it and started leering over Stefan again. Her eyes started to travel and she flinched when he lot out a small roar In retaliation. She looked around her redheads with the weird sticks and the Originals, she smirked.

“I don’t know about that…they just have the perfect amount of their daddy in them. Especially this one, he looks so much like Stefan. Would you mind if I just keep him? You can have the other, I just hope that this one is just as much fun as his daddy was.” Hailey had frozen at the implication of what Katherine was intending to do to HER BABY. As if something had snapped, her head drooped and she started to walk towards Katherine. She walked despite the hissing and shouting from everyone and as if Stefan knew something was amiss he just let out a small whimper.

The smirk was slowly dropping from Katherine’s face as the feeling of dread was quickly rising in her. The lights were flickering and the air was becoming cold. Then an unearthly screech was heard in the distance causing everyone but Hailey to flinch. Instead she raised her arm and pointed a single finger at Katherine. She raised her head and caused her family to let out large gasps and be riddled with befuddlement. Her eyes, instead of white it’s had become black and her irises her glowing reminding the Weasleys of the Killing Curse. The screeching was getting closer and closer until it just stopped. Then all of a sudden the door had slammed open and the screeching had filled the house. Ron was quick to bark orders.

“Everyone against the walls don’t get close to those things!” He said while dragging Kol with him.

“What are those things?!” Klaus had been dragged to the wall by one of the twins. He was eyeing the Spector like things that were floating around the room. Every instinct in his body was telling him to run from those things.

“Dementors!”, as he said it the soul suckers had stopped flying around the room and came to a stop by standing behind Hailey, like dogs awaiting their masters orders to eat.

“Her.”, Hailey said simply but it left everyone with chills as her voice had changed to something unearthly. The Dementors charged at Katherine. They lifted her up by her arms and floated her away from Cedar and Caelan. With them so close to her and touching her Katherine was reliving every horrible memory she had. It didn’t take long for her to start begging.

“Please no! I-I’ll do anything I’ll leave you alone just let me go! I didn’t mean it!” She tried getting out of their grips but she couldn’t as she started to freeze in fear when Hailey Potter started to stroll towards her. She stopped momentarily when she got close enough to the boys. She picked them up and they calmed down almost instantly. She looked to the redheaded twins and they quickly scrambled up to get the boys from her. Once the twins were at a safe distance she turned her attention back to Katherine. In the corner of her eye she could see Stefan pelting himself over to the boys and frantically looking them over and nuzzling them when he deemed that they were okay.

“You didn’t mean it! You have evaded your crimes for too long!” Hailey’s voice had never sounded so bone chilling before even when facing off Death Eaters, that doesn’t compare to how angry she sounded at this very moment. She scoffed when Katherine started to form crocodile tears. And then started to explain herself that she was just jealous and just wanted some piece of Stefan. Hailey looked to the dementor on Katherine’s right with a raised eyebrow and I quickly put its corpse like hand over her mouth to shut her pleading up. Katherine was trying to get sympathy from anyone in the room with her wide fear filled eyes but she was just met with looks of disdain.

“Katerina Petrova in the name of Death, I sentence you to your own personal hell! May your last moments be filled with remorse as no rest will accompany you!” She nodded to the Dementors and it removed its hand while the other leaned in. All her manipulation tactics and persuasion powers proved fruitless when being sentenced to the Dementor’s Kiss. The vampires looked on in horror as a white vapor left Katherine’s body and was being sucked up by the Dementor. They let her go and they expected to having to hold her down but she just sat there like a husk. Breathing but looking so empty. The Dementors bowed to Hailey and flew out of the house. Everyone let out a breath they didn’t know they were holding. Stefan ran up to Hailey with the boys still with him, she gave them a faint smile…before promptly fainting. Fred was quick to conjure a very big bean bag for her to fall on. He knew that right now Stefan was in a very delicate mindset and anything could set him off. Not matter how worried he was for Hailey he could not risk it more by possibly pushing her mate too far.

Stefan made a wounded noise and climbed on the bean bag with her. Her arrange his family into a comfortable position. He was slowly coming back, the boys were rightfully tired and found a good sleeping place on their mama. Stefan was being lulled to sleep as well. As soon as Percy saw that they were asleep he put a silencing charm on them. They needed to plan out how they were going to move them back home without waking them up or drawing too much attention. From what he gathered this house was still being used by Damon so they needed to figure it out quickly. Speak of the devil and he shall appear.

Damon barged in with Elena both looked very irritated and with seeing them we’re about to begin interrogating when Charlie and Ron have had enough and hit them a Petrificus Totalus. They rubbed their foreheads when they both dropped like rocks into the floor. It was really turning into a long day.

Chapter 5

Immortal Dilemmas

*Stefan Salvatore*

Stefan stood with his back towards Klaus shocked still. How did he know? But he was still stuck on the last part of what Klaus had said, ‘mated’. On an instinct he knew that he meant Hailey, it was why he was so determined to have her stay safe but it was the first time he was really acknowledging it. Klaus while more bearable than his brother was still an all powerful Original Hybrid. His vampire was recognizing that Klaus while an ally could easily turn into a threat to Hailey. But to his surprise Klaus had scoffed, as if Stefan had truly offended him. He turned towards the hybrid and he saw that there was a look of annoyance on his face.

“Honestly Stefan with how much we have gotten along I’m surprised of your hesitation. But then again…my past behaviors haven’t exactly shown it but I do enjoy having you around.”, did Klaus Mikaelson just say that in a sheepish tone? He and Stefan had gotten along fine with or without humanity involved. There was just always a conflict of interest. In the 20’s it was because of Mikael finding them and he couldn’t risk it but if it wasn’t for that Stefan would have stayed his best friend and brother. Recently it was being because of the doppelgänger but it was resolved with Stefan turning his humanity off. A vampire finding a mate was rare. It was considered sacred and it was one of the few rules that must be upheld in the community. Klaus being around for a long time had seen a total of five pairs of mates. Not everyone can pick up when a creature gets a mate, it takes a long time to notice signs. They all had the signs that Stefan showed. Change in scent and lasting claim marks. He’s had a thousand years to hone his senses to better detect it. Only when vampires reach five hundred years can they notice the bonds. He could still see a stiffness in Stefan, he figured now was a good time as any to finally let Stefan remember. He sped towards Stefan and held him in place by the shoulders.

“Stefan let me make this clear to you, I see you as a brother. And family means everything to me. You know this, but I think it’s time you remember it.”, Klaus had said his last sentence with his compulsion on. With it said everything came rushing back. Him and Klaus meeting because of Rebekah, the Original Sister. He remembered his brief romance with her. But more importantly he remembered that he and Klaus were like brothers.

When his flashback was over he looked to Klaus and rethought everything. From his memories he now knew that Klaus was more of a brother to him than Damon had been. Klaus had protected him, taught him, encouraged him, and acknowledged his talents. While Damon had always done the opposite. Damon left him unprotected and scared when he was turned, left him to learn his new powers by himself, put him down and made the same jokes about his character for centuries, and Damon was always jealous and angry when Stefan had something good in life. Damon was more of a threat than Klaus. Klaus was only perceived as a threat because in the past he was after Elena and was willing to paint the town red for it. Now though Stefan knew how desperate Klaus was to unlock his hybrid status. He had described it to Stefan as having a limb that he could always feel and move being tied behind his back. It was there but tied down for a thousand years. Anything like that would make anyone desperate.

He made a decision then and there, Klaus was a powerful ally and wanted Stefan to be his brother again and so did Stefan. Stefan needed and wanted Klaus to be on his side especially since Hailey is his mate, he’ll need help keeping her away and safe from the Scooby-Gang. They would not hesitate to use her to have Stefan obey them to take Klaus down.Klaus waited anxiously, watching Stefan.

“…Klaus, I want you to swear to me. Swear on your family that what I tell you about her, you won’t tell anyone. I am giving you the benefit of the doubt that you can still be my brother just…please…promise that you can help me keep her safe.”, he’s going to trust Klaus. The mere thought about Hailey being hurt, it was like he was human again and vulnerable to everything. His vision was getting blurry, he blinked and realized that he was close to letting tears fall. He was feeling again, Hailey always seemed to have that affect on him. Klaus was baffled, he knew that mating bonds were strong, but Stefan’s was able to make him feel while he was supposed to have his humanity off. As to Stefan’s request, he’ll help. Other than the fact that Stefan was like a brother to him, he didn’t ask for him to protect his mate he asked him to help. He squeezed Stefan’s shoulders to get his attention.

“Stefan, I Niklaus Mikaelson swear on my family name that I will help you keep your mate safe and protected.”, to Stefan it was as if a giant boulder was lifted up his shoulders. Klaus was planning to have Stefan turn back on his emotions but it seems he didn’t need to. Stefan’s humanity was back on due to the overwhelming amount of happiness and gratitude that he had.

“Now with that out of the way. Tell me all about this girl.”, Stefan had started to blush. Oh dear, his little brother was absolutely whipped over this girl.

“Her name is Hailey Potter. She’s from the UK. As you could guess we met on my way back from that coven, by the way they said there wasn’t anything in their magic that could help on changing the need for human doppelgänger blood. PS if anyone asks you sent me to Alabama to kill a coven that was getting out of line. Anyway she had gotten into a crash and was walking because she couldn’t call for help. I saw her on the side of the rode and I thought that as soon as she got into my car I would drain her dry but I just couldn’t.”, Stefan was a ripper so hearing that he was able to say no to blood was surprising. A bigger surprise was that Stefan’s mate was human. Out of the five pairs he had met, all of them were already turned. He stopped Stefan to confirm.

“Wait! Your mate is a human?”, Stefan just nodded his head not seeing the big deal. Deities Almighty, someone help these Salvatore’s.

“Stefan, since the beginning of vampires there has never before been a match between a vampire and human.”, though it could explain why Stefan’s mate bond feels differently than the others. With werewolf mates the bond feels wild and like instant love but contained with loyalty . Vampires mates bond feels mellow, patient love, and open. But Stefan’s feels extremely different, it feels like unconditional love tied with so many others, but the most obvious he could feel was the support. He can’t feel the complete bond without the other half not here, but it was still an impressively strong bond. He let Stefan continue.

“Well, I don’t know how it happened. I just know that hurting her felt wrong. We were in the car for a while before I decided to break the silence. I asked what she was doing in America. And the conversation just evolved from there. She had lost someone important to her due to all the crazy stuff that happened over there. I gave her my condolences but she looked like she was so used to hearing it, so I told her about my past in a human version. I don’t know why, but something in me wanted to connect with her. We did connect after sharing our woes, I needed a drink but I couldn’t stand the thought of leaving her so, I invited her along. There was this guy at the bar we were at…I almost killed him in front of everyone because he touched her.”, a little concerning but with Stefan’s past it’s not surprising. Vampires are known to be possessive not protective. Stefan, however, has had a past of violently losing the things he’s loved and his vampire recognizes that. Though if he was ready to kill in front of everyone,why didn’t he?

“Why didn’t you? At the time you didn’t exactly have the capability to care.”

“Because being with Hailey made me care. I didn’t want to scare her so I just threatened the guy…with decapitation.”, he added with a sheepish tone. Ah, again, the bond was strong enough to make Stefan care with his humanity off even before they were mated, intriguing. He let Stefan continue.

“I had to use compulsion so they wouldn’t card us but we started drinking together. When we were leaving Hailey…surprised me, she made the first move. As it turns out I was given her first kiss. And then we got a little carried away, and I ended up also…taking her virginity.”, Klaus had to struggle not to laugh at how red Stefan became. Most vampires do not wish to have a virgin human girl as bed partner, it could lead to them losing their control. He decided to tease Stefan a bit, it’s what brothers are for.

“Why Stefan you don’t mean that you two took part doing the devils dance?”, it was hilarious to see Stefan turn as red as a tomato. He couldn’t exactly do this back in the 20’s considering it was his sister that was with Stefan at the time. Thankfully, Rebekah has moved on to that human named Matt Donavan.

“So, how did she look?”, he said with curiosity and to his surprise, Stefan groaned. What happened?

“She is unfairly gorgeous. Everything she did was unintentionally seducing me. She had the most gorgeous black hair. Her eyes reminded me of emeralds. And her skin was fair and it was so soft to the touch.”, he should stop fantasizing about Hailey before he gets a…problem in front of Klaus. Klaus will once again think it, his brother was totally whipped.

“But that night when we were sleeping I had a nightmare, people kept showing up telling me I was going to ruin her, that if she stays with me it would be signing her death warrant. When I woke up she was still sleeping, I just couldn’t drag her into this but I still wanted to have something with her. I left her my ring and my phone number…also I need to get a ring.”, Stefan looked like a kicked puppy at the remembrance of having to leave Hailey. But he had made up his mind as long as Damon and the others have the drive to try and get rid of Klaus, she wouldn’t be safe with him. But if a day came that she wanted to come to him or him to her, he would at least know that Klaus has his back.

I should also make this clear that I got some inspiration from a fanfic that is called Helena Potter. But this is still a fanfic idea that I am hoping that could be brought to life or at least written out.

Fanfic Idea

Watching the Harry Potter Movies but Harry goes by Harriet because he will be a girl in this also Cedric will be alive and dating her since 3rd year but then they had a fight and broke up during the Goblet of Fire. But got back together after she had saved him from being killed by Wormtail. While Harriet is jealous that he had taken Cho Chang to the Yule Ball Cedric is even more jealous when he finds out that she was asked out by Viktor Krum. Viktor had seen Harriet crying over Cedric asking Cho out and he wanted Cedric to get a taste of his own medicine and he saw Harriet as a little sister. So during the entire ball instead of paying attention to Cho and dancing with her, he kept glaring at Viktor every time he danced and was talking to Harriet which was basically through the whole night. Cho had started to get jealous of Harriet because even though Cedric and Harriet broke up Cedric still loved her and Cho hated that Harriet had basically every guy’s attention tonight as she was even more gorgeous then ever before. Cedric was steaming as he started to notice that nearly every guy was slobbering over his Harriet. Everyone will be there to watch the movies and finally see how Harriet actually lives. Cedric during the whole thing will be very possessive and protective of his little lioness. Draco, who had been basically pining after Harriet since first year did the same as Cedric but ignored Pansy the whole time. We would also see a very overprotective Sirius and Weasley Family. As Ron would see how bummed out Harriet is over Cedric that he realized that she would never enter this on purpose. So in turn we would have Ron and the rest of the Weasley’s plus Hermione, Sirius, and Remus being very overprotective. And have one Cedric slowly realizing that he made a mistake and would do anything to get his little lioness to forgive him and give him a second chance. While Draco and Cho would be sitting in jealous watching the couple. Cedric will be apart of story since the very beginning and instead of the Golden Trio they will be the Hogwarts Four.

Also a thing I love that authors do is name actors who they envision playing the role in their fanfics and since I can never properly see a female Harry I ask that you provide an actress that you envision as Harriet. Though if you can’t I understand.

What I imagine their kids look like.

So I kinda had this story plot for a while but I have no clue how to keep it going or how to end it but I’m going to share it. This is a story for the ship WinterSpider btw, of course.

So basically it starts about right after Bucky had saved Steve from drowning. In my mind I’m like “ I do not care that this man is enhanced he literally had to pull a man that is made of pure muscle out of water and had just survived another epic battle, he has to be wounded, or tired in some way.” With that in mind I’m thinking maybe he made his way, by stealing a car, to New York where he runs out of gas and ditches the car and proceeds by foot. He keeps getting flashbacks of fights he got into when he was younger against a some guys from Queens. My idea is that with the flashbacks happening and with Bucky still being wounded he just curls up into a ball into an alley.

Peter was patrolling around the city , in his ‘onesie’ still trying to get over the fact that he now has super powers and still trying to grieve his uncle Ben, when suddenly his newly discovered super senses had made him aware of Bucky in a nearby alley. Peter having super senses could smell blood and hear Bucky whimpering in pain.

Now from there I have no clue as to how to build a relationship between them. I absolutely adore them as a couple but I keep coming up short as to how to actually build their relationship up.

But the ultimate climax of the story would be that Bucky had forgotten about Peter until after Civil War because his brain was just a little damaged. But then a new Big Bad is coming and they need all the help they can get. Peter was never recruited by Tony and Thanos was never a thing. But there is still a major villain coming. So plot twist here is that because Peter is the only one of his species, his DNA recognizes this and basically says “ We need more beings like us.” So Peter ends up as a teen ‘parent’(but technically mother since he births his kids) with James Buchanan Barnes (Bucky) as his baby daddy. Peter just believes that Bucky up and left him when in fact James just doesn’t remember. I’m going to ask that whoever makes this story please de-age Bucky a bit so that we don’t get the Cap’s Disappointment Eyebrows. But Peter does give birth to twin boys and he has to come clean with Aunt May because well you can’t hide the fact a teenage BOY is pregnant ,with twins no less. I kind of wanted to name them James Benjamin Parker and Grant Richard Parker. To at least have the boys have something of their father’s and to honor that poor little guy that his former love always talked about being sick and still getting in fights.

Anyways I got off track. The fact is they all needed to get together to help fight of the Big Bad. Peter gets recruited by Fury as I refuse to believe we would ignore a man that could bench press 40 tons (in comics at least). As seeing he wanted to keep his family safe, he agrees to fighting. Peter makes his way into a newly reformed SHEILD ,now called SWORD, meeting room to discuss battle strategy. He had to leave his kids with Agent Hill as his Aunt was just piled in work and Agent Hill said she would be honored of watch such adorable little bundles of joy. The babies aren’t that old maybe just about 6 months old and just love being near their mom. But once coming into the room Peter is suddenly pushed against a wall in the meeting room. With a feeling of someone’s hands on his shoulders he starts to panic and wonder why his spidey sense didn’t go off. When suddenly he looks up to find a very familiar set of blue eyes. But as soon as his mind catches up to him Bucky is being pulled away by Steve who is saying “Buck calm down! He’s not an enemy he’s just some kid!” And Peter is suddenly having to look over the God of Thunder shoulder to see if Bucky was either attacking him or just surprised by his presence that he just acted without thinking. I always wanted to see a fix where Peter has a brother-ish bond with Thor. But then Bucky said a few words that made the whole room freeze “ I know you.”

And of course there has to be possessive Bucky but a overprotective brother Thor to sort of block him. But you know Bucky just misreads it as a guy trying to take away his precious Peter. If these elements can be kept I give permission for anyone to use this plot idea. This could also be a NSFW story but it could also just imply that they did it. Just saying I like those gifs just as much as the next person.

Chapter 18

Immortal Dilemmas

There wasn't any time to spare, their sister had to be warned about what had been tried to be passed for a law. The elections for the minister of magic had been running slowly, everyone was hesitant to show trust and faith in the system that was once so corrupt. The one candidate that the family is hoping to win is Kingsley Shacklebolt, a comrade in arms that had a sense of what was right. They didn't have to worry about him falling into someone's pockets. He's in the lead due to the family openly supporting him. However, there was one candidate that they were absolutely sure needed to be thrown into Azkaban, Perseus Parkinson. The Parkinson family had been allied with the Malfoy family for generations and it was widely known. The only reason that he was not a convicted death eater was that he wasn't deemed worthy enough to be one. Though his blood was pure, his core was weak, abilities near a squib. Pansy was lucky to have been deemed enough magic to enter Hogwarts. The man spouted off nonsense about him being a representative of keeping traditions alive. What was wrong was that he was trying to pass a law stating that it was required for witches and wizards, 16 and older, to be entered into a courtship that promised marriage or a marriage contract. To 'ensure' that there would be enough children to start the next generation and make up for all the lives lost in the last two wars, if a wizard or witch does not already have a spouse then the ministry will try to match them up. The family knew that the law was total bullshit. Thankfully, with Hailey being mated and married the law didn't affect her. But it did come out to the public that their "Chosen One" was wedded and they demanded answers. The family remembered with a scowl what brought them to having to warn their darling lioness.

 ~Flashback~

 The wizarding courtroom was usually a place of law and Order, but the scene unfolding was just plainly a screaming match. Kingsley was on one side with the order behind him along with the majority of the Wizengamot. Behind in parallel to him was a pug-faced man who could be no one else but Perseus Parkinson. Both were in the required, maroon-sanctioned robes of the court. Kingsley was keeping his head and showing a cool and calm face as one would expect with a parent scolding their child. Parkinson was the child, red in the face while making his point heard all over Britain. Behind him were what was remaining of the "dark faction", most were widowers or eldest sons that inherited the titles of the lord of their family through their Death Eater family member. Many of the young on this side were hesitant to be there but had no clue where else to go, they felt they would just be shunned if they turned to the 'light' but if they stayed in the 'dark', they would be playing a losing game. 

 "Magic must be preserved! There are limited solutions to how we can solve our dwindling population. It must be done every one of magic must marry and conceive to bring along the next generation. We have to make up for all that was lost from the wars!"

 "Forcing people to go along with your old ways is no way to solve that! People should have the choice of deciding who they are to marry and not be forced to make such decisions because it is required! We just survived a war for Merlin's sake, you will not force your ideals onto the people of Magical Britain!"

 "My beliefs aside there is not much else that can be done to solve the dwindling numbers of our community. Family lines are going to go dead if not done. Magic that comes from witches or wizards like Hailey Potter must be passed on to ensure our future!"

 "I advise you to keep our savior out of this! She has done enough for us, and we cannot expect her to do more! Especially to take part in such a farce of law!"

"Who else but she can lead us, who else but her can help make future generations? Her parents were exceptional in power, they got married and produced an heir of the highest caliber! Imagine what children she could produce with the right wizard! That child then can ensure that magic lives on!" 

 "I'm afraid~", a goblin, Griphook, that represented Gringotts had piped up. Might as well tell the fool why even if the law were to get miraculously passed, there was no chance they would be able to pair off Hailey Potter. "Even If you were to pass that 'law' Miss Potter would not fall into that jurisdiction."

 "Make your reason known! Why would she not?!", this can't happen Lucius was willing to overlook all the money that Parkinson owed him if he was able to become Minister or at least get the law passed. If he can't, he could wish his already crumbling estate goodbye. The Parkinsons owe the Malfoys more money than they have in their vaults, if he didn't win the election or get the law passed his family will have to give up their titles and vaults. Even then it wouldn't be enough to cover everything, and the Parkinson family would become magic-bound servants to pay off whatever was left. Griphook sneered at the desperation that the wizard was oozing, hysteria was also making itself known.

"To simply put, Hailey Potter is no longer eligible to become a bride to anyone. She has been bonded and mated for quite a few months now. Strange how you wizards only care for her condition and status when she could be used in your favor.", a string of gasps was let out through the courtroom. Mated?! But mating would imply that their savior had bonded with a creature! Mostly out of surprise from the 'light' side. Though there were a few young lords distressed about losing a chance with Lady Potter.

 "How dare you speak such lies! A respectable witch would never stoop so low as to 'mate'-", this was possibly worse than he could imagine. The reason why the 'dark' section was so against mating was that a mating bond meant that even if one-half of the pair was killed the other half would never want anyone else. They would only ever want their 'mate'. There was no way of conning a respectable witch to marry a proper wizard after killing off her 'mate'. The same as luring back a proper wizard to marry a respectable witch. If the mating case is true, he was so screwed. No, he cannot accept this. He was about to voice as such but was cut off by his competitor.

 "TAKE CARE OF HOW YOU SPEAK!! Mating has been an honored ritual for creatures that have for too long been seen as nothing of importance by like-minded individuals such as yourself! In case you are suffering from some sort of obliviating spell, allow me to remind you of how the Dark Lord was able to pull so many 'dark' creatures into his clutches.", Kingsley was often disgusted by how his kind would treat a mating bond. To him you marry/bond/mate to whoever you loved, the dark section believed that marriage was simply a tool to be used to better your family who cares about what feelings happen between the pair as long as an heir can be produced to carry the line. It was also due to the constant fear of what they couldn't understand that made them orchestrate creatures. The creatures there to represent their kind turned from sneering at Parkinson to showing mildly impressed faces towards Kingsley.

 "He lured them with power, that's all those foul-", Parkinson did not get to finish as he had to duck a spell shot from the light section. Ginny Weasley had to rub her shoulder as her mother had smacked it but shared a silent high-five with her brothers. It caused Aurors to chuckle and not even attempt to look for the culprit and glare at the ones that tried to step forward to look. Parkinson sent a glare and waved them off. He looked pointedly at Kingsley to get on with it.

 "He promised them equality, he promised the creatures that they and their mates would never have to fear of being hunted, separated, or used! Our world did everything to oppress those poor creatures and that's exactly what caused them to go over to him. We constantly talk of hiding from muggles because of how they treated us for being different than them, for having abilities that they did not possess, and because we had different traditions than they did.", how dare this little upstart bring muggles into this and how dare he compare their ancestors' pain to that of some lowly creature!

"THEY BURNED US AT THE STAKE THOSE CREATURES SHOULD BE THANKFUL!!", people were sure that if there weren't wards to prevent outsiders from listening, Diagon Alley would be hearing the screaming match.

"THANKFUL FOR US DOING THE EXACT SAME THING AS TO WHAT THE MUGGLES DID TO US !??!", many gasps occurred again at the revelation.

 "WE SHOULD HAVE BANDED TOGETHER TO MAKE A BETTER WORLD BUT INSTEAD WE DID AS THE MUGGLES DID TO US PERHAPS EVEN WORSE. We gave them a glimmer of hope that we could all coexist peacefully after evading the muggles, only for us to stomp on it and give them a stack of laws to limit them. We need to change; we have stayed the same for far too long and if it doesn't, I fear that we will just be repeating the same miserable pattern."

 "Be that as it may a creature mating with our savior could have no possible fruitful outcome, tell us Goblin what is the status of the supposed mate of Hailey Potter?", even if she is mated what matters if the young Malfoy provides her an heir, though the heir will not be widely accepted as it will not be made from marriage vows. He just needs to know if the creature is a weak one, but knowing Potter there is no chance that the fates would deem a weakling worthy of her.

 " A vampire.", Griphook replied. You could hear a pin drop in the room from how quiet it became and all of a sudden movement came to a large boom.

 "VAMPIRE!!!", it was as if the courtroom had spoken as a unit. Yells, whispers, and murmurs were taking up the courtroom. It was becoming too much until Amelia Bones rose with her wand to her neck casting a sonorous spell.

 "ORDER, WE WILL HAVE ORDER", it started to quiet down then Amelia asked respectfully to the goblin which did earn her a respected look. "Master Teller, is there anything about the state of Hailey Potter that should be known to this court?", the court did not need to know that Miss Potter had moved to America most likely in alignment with her magic to find her mate, even if unknowingly.

 "As it is I have already delivered information that this court has no business of knowing Miss Potter has done enough for this world, how she spends her days is her business.", he said with a slight sneer towards the 'dark' fraction. He had no clue why wizards insisted to label things. Parkinson seemed to have snapped out of his daze and started demanding answers and swaying some to his side.

 "HOW ARE WE TO GAIN ANOTHER HERO IF OUR SAVIOR CAN NOT PRODUCE AN HEIR ??!!", some gaped at his audacity to try and use their savior, but a few sheep could not help but murmur agreement. The Weasley boys in attendance had a look of fury on their faces and Ginny looked ready to claw his eyes out. Kingsley went to calm the masses.

 "That is not an issue whatsoever-", he was interrupted by one of the neutral lords.

 "I am sorry Kingsley, but it does pose a problem. What will become of the Potter and Black titles? Surely Miss Potter will want to hand them down one day? She often spoke of having a family and being with a vampire leaves very little chance of that happening. I even dare say that it's not even allowed.", he had the sense to look bothered by what he was saying but it was true, it was currently against the law to produce a halfling. And those that were produced were mistreated, it was no way to treat the offspring of their hero. Kingsley didn't waste time making a case. Hailey needed the law to be passed, those boys are everything to her.

 "Not if we change the laws! Who are we to say that a woman must rid herself of her child just because we fear the unknown? If we banish those laws, we can ensure that Miss Potter has at least one less thing to worry about when concerning making her family. We owe her that much.", the members of the jury looked side to side with each other before Amelia Bones came to stand and with her a piece of parchment to say which laws will be instated. Before she could say anything there was a change that no one was expecting to come from the courtroom that day. Nearly every newly appointed Lord and Ladies had moved from the 'dark' section to the neutral, it seemed Kingsley's words encouraged some change. Widows were looking at the young nobles in betrayal, but they refused to budge, it was time for a change. Their fathers and mothers had paid the price for their ways in no way were they to try and follow the same path.

 "We, the Wizengamont, do declare that halflings no longer are a forbidden race so we say it so mote it be. We do declare that laws over all creatures will be reevaluated to ensure tranquility, so we say it so mote it be. We do declare that bonding and mating are on the equivalence of marriage, so we say it so mote it be.", the scene was that of utter tranquility as magic had registered it and let the room give off a faint white glow until Parkinson disrupted it by crashing the courtroom doors open. At that, the order had joined together each silently cheering for the victory. No one had noticed that a beetle had flown out of the courtroom, they wouldn't have a clue until the next morning.

 Arthur was eating breakfast with his family and enjoying the chatter going around. The children wanted to head to America to inform Hailey of the wonderful news but as he was drinking his coffee, he read the Prophet. He spurted the contents out to the side and his family looked up at him in surprise and then shock at his next words. "THAT BLOODY SKEETER, JUST WHO THE HELL DOES SHE THINK SHE IS?!!", he said in a rage, it was very rare to see the Weasley Patriarch this upset.

 "Arthur!", Molly was about to ask what in merlin was wrong when he turned the paper around for the whole family to see the headline.

" SAVIOUR OFF THE MARKET?", the men of the family looked at the paper with fury as the women decided to read it despite being engulfed in rage. ' You heard it here my faithful readers it would seem Lady Potter is no longer on the market; it would seem that she was not swept off her feet like any respectable lady, but she had instead eloped and with a creature no less! This just in Lady Potter has been deemed mated to not just any sort of creature, but a dark one! A vampire! What does this entail for the future of the Wizarding World? It would have been deemed that Lady Potter is not allowed to have children with her mate, however, the Wizengmont wouldn't dare go against Lady Potter. Sources say, "I for one think it's blasphemous, a respectable Lady should be wed to a wizard, not some creature!" Others, " Love is love, it does not matter who or what they are as long as both are consensual and hold love for each other there is nothing wrong with the relationship presented, we owe it to Lady Potter to let her live as she wants." The wizarding world will be split but what side is correct, read more to find out!" At the bottom of the page is what also got the family's vision to be tinted with blood, "Read more on Page 4 to know about the scandalous history of Lady Potter with Heir Malfoy", that bloody Skeeter!! Arthur was trembling with rage that it was decided that Percy would be the one to read that section as he was very begrudgingly the only levelheaded one in the room. He read out loud with venom lacing his words, it surprised his family to hear him so upset, but then again this was their honorary sister and daughter.

"Lord Malfoy has recently come out with a statement regarding the ordeal over Lady Potter's new marital status, "It is completely inappropriate as she and my son, Draco, were to be wed in this year's time. They had an official courtship during their last few years at Hogwarts, how else do you explain Draco's willingness to risk his own life to help her? Draco is, of course, refuting to hide his pain over her leaving him for some eternal creature.", does Lord Malfoy speak the truth, this reporter will find out, whatever it takes we shall know the true Lady Potter.", in his head, Percy had come up with at least seven different ways of how to rid the Malfoy family of their lord, how dare that foul upstart to speak such lies about their sister. Anyone with half a brain should know that there is absolutely no chance that Malfoy and Hailey could feel anything than friendship toward each other. And bloody Skeeter! What right does that woman have to display Hailey's business out to the public and try to paint her as some Scarlett woman?! This would not do, they had to move it was due time for a visit, they hadn't seen their family members in nearly two months. Perfect time to kill two birds with the stone, or something along those lines. The family started conversing over the next steps of what to do not knowing that there was an eavesdropping charm that was placed on Arthur by the one and only... Perseus Parkinson.

~End Flashback~

When the family arrived, they were met with growling and surprised yelps before the magicals of the house came down to calm the situation. Apparently, Hailey had decided to house some...hybrids? And they finally got to meet the man that had knocked up their precious Hailey. At this thought passing through the family's head, Stefan felt a chill go up his spine. He looked to his new brothers to see them all grinning in an understanding of what had to be done with Stefan. Hailey had a lot of brothers; it came with the territory to get the shovel talk.

"So... you're Stefan?", Bill had asked once all the men had managed to drag him into a parlor room, pretty easy since Hailey was so excited to see the girls and they all decided to take a quick shopping trip with some coaxing from Fleur and Rebecca it was almost scary. Bill, along with the other Weasley men were intimidating. Along with what he's heard from his wife, they were not people to trifle with, Bill worked with ancient, nearly unhealable curses. Charlie worked with Dragons and had a very large build. Percy reminded him somewhat of Elijah, but he knew while he could be made an ally would likely not hesitate in causing harm. The twins very much reminded him of his new older brother Kol, the manic gleam in their eyes worried him. He was hoping to get some sort of protection from Ron or Remus, but they were leaning on the back wall with their arms crossed, an amused grins plastered on their faces, along with Arthur, the brood's father. He was shocked when Billy got rid of his grim face and placed a smirk on. He put his arm around Stefan's shoulders and led him to the one couch in the room. "Listen, mate, I have a creature beloved as well. I know that you would never EVER try to hurt Hailey willingly. Right?", the rest of the brood followed Bill's example of leaving their tense stances.

"I would rather scarf down vervain in sunlight than ever try to hurt Hailey.", Stefan stated in a no-nonsense kind of tone. The family looked pleased with his answer. They knew that a creature bond was sacred and that giving a shovel talk to Stefan would be disrespectful, especially as he was a vampire.

"And we know that, listen Hailey is the most wonderful girl we know. And we are not the only ones to notice this. What we want you to understand is that where we're from she is highly sought after not only for her looks but also for her high standing, we need to know if you are willing to do whatever it takes to keep her happy with you. She would do the same. Even if it means some blood on your hands.", Stefan felt his vampire rage over his mate being lusted after and wanted to shred anybody who dared to want to use her.

"I am hers just as she is mine, anybody that tries to take her will know that. I have no regrets in having to get my hands dirty over someone who dared to try and do so.", he was barely keeping the growling and hissing from his voice. He was met with warm smiles, the brood parted away as their Father came to shake Stefan's hand.

"Welcome to the family, son.", a golden glow emitted from their hands similar to what he remembered happened when Hailey and Klaus made those vows. He felt warm and oddly giddy. His brothers had busted in, and he was surprised to see Elijah and Finn holding his sons who were fussing and trying to squirm toward him, despite being two months old and told that they would age like normal kids he still felt his boys were growing too fast.

"My look how big they've gotten! I can see Hailey here and there, especially in Cedar. But Caelan definitely takes after his father.", Stefan went to his brothers as the panicked look on their faces was growing. He took the boys, and they stopped fussing. They must have just wanted him as their mommy had been taken hostage by her sisters. Stefan looked around to notice that the family was looking at him handle the boys. They all looked mildly proud and silently awed at the adorable picture Stefan made. Some of the Hybrids had decided to peek in and Stefan gave them a small smile. Stefan took in how much his family has grown, for so long he had felt so lonely. His only family hated him and there was no way for him to create his own. Since Hailey, he has never felt so complete. Every time he thinks of how she had unknowingly brought peace to his life he fills with warmth. She and he had certainly created a large family.

Unfortunately, unwanted forces were brewing. Parkinson had been able to get a lock in where the Weasleys had portkeyed. He was not going to leave this foul country until Potter became wed to Draco! He had brought Lucius along to assure it. Lucius, as a lord had forced Draco to stay locked in Malfoy Manor to stop him from interfering, the brat should be thankful for their dedication to providing him with a worthy bride. Narcissa while reluctant, stayed to watch Draco to ensure he wouldn't try to pull anything. Potter should be thankful that a pureblooded family was willing to take her in despite her foul half-blood status. Her father was a sore point to many of the wizards in their faction, he was a highly sought-after pureblood. Even Parkinson's wife had sent him a marriage contract only for her and others as well to take a hit in their pride when he decided to court a mudblood. The memories this brought were certainly taking hits to his pride. All they needed to do was lay low and perhaps imperious Potter to leave that creature for a proper wizard, such as Draco. They were discussing what exactly they should do when they were approached by some muggle, how she noticed them is unknown as they had placed 'Notice Me Not' spells. She had pale skin and hair that made Parkinson believe that she would have done well in impersonating a Malfoy.

"I believe gentleman that we both have a similar goal. I cannot do my noble work with the witch you want here, and you wish to take her away, shall we talk more in private?", she piqued their interest. Esther smiled sinisterly, as soon as that freak of nature left, she would be free to carry out as nature intended.

They were not the only unwanted visitors, but another made herself known. Stefan decided that the boys should get a little outing and it was always amusing to see how people reacted to his usual cool facade brother's break face when his sons decided to look at them. He was enjoying his time at the park with everyone, Hailey had texted him saying that they would head over as soon as possible, and Rebekka had gotten the boys some clothes that she wanted to do a miniature photoshoot since they were at the park. His brothers went to go pick up the girls and they headed towards a very open field park. He chuckled and looked over to his brother in laws having tummy time with the boys on a wool blanket that they brought. When he suddenly felt arms wrapped around his neck, he didn't smell Hailey or even hear her yet, he thrust himself away from the offending appendages to see Elena looking at him with an amused surprised look on her face. But it soon turned to confusion as Stefan glared at her and decided to walk away from her and more towards his family. She grabbed his wrist and was soon pushed away, "I think I've told you before Elena, stop acting like we're together and just stay away from me!". Soon her doe-like expression turned to a very familiar one, a smirk that only screamed bad intentions. He sighed in annoyance, "Katherine.", she just fluttered her eyes as she looked over at him with appreciating gazes. He felt creeped out but Katherine either didn't care or didn't notice.

"Finally ditched my good girl self, Stefan?", she said as she tried to interlock their arms but was once again pushed off, she looked at Stefan with a pout. He sighed and looked over to his in-laws who were looking on and noticed his uncomfortable stance. Ron pulled out his phone and silently shot a text to his sisters. He had been told stories about this woman; it was people like her that made his mother equally protective of her sons as she was of her daughters. Women who knew better but still decide to seduce (take advantage) a younger man and use him, despite him being naive and young. Katherine Pierce was that and so much worse as she was a vampire and controlled Stefan, who at the time was still fairly young. He and his brothers looked at each other and knew this could get messy so they put a few wards to drive the muggles away from the park along with a few silent wards to not draw attention. Katherine was too busy eating Stefan with her eyes to notice the humans leaving the park.

"I did and I'm already taken. I'm making sure to stay away from manipulative doppelgangers.", Katherine looked at Stefan with a longing look, but she pushed it down she needed him to spare some information about the Originals, last she heard from one of her hybrid spies (they gave her information to lure her back) they were in New Orleans. But it would be nice if Stefan wanted a little reward for such valuable information, he certainly had gotten more attractive. He bulked up quite a bit and had a new mature aura around him, but she couldn't help but notice something was off, but she brushed it off. What could he have done that she hadn't already seen?

"I'm not here to fight I just want to talk...but if you want, we could do a little something after.", she said in what was supposed to sound like a sultry voice but to Stefan, it was like nails against a chalkboard. She made another move to try and lean on him when she was suddenly pinned down to the ground. Stefan had gotten tired of her advances and his in-laws were moving to come help, hopefully, they got something strong enough to tie up a vampire. Katherine was surprised that Stefan was able to keep her pinned down despite being older than him. She then felt a searing pain, she looked up to see some redhead pointing a stick at her, and a rope was coming out of it, every time she tried to break it, it would just get tighter and tighter. She heard a car approaching and was ready to turn on the waterworks and scream only to be petrified at who came out. She saw the entire family of Originals leave the vehicle. Then she noticed HER. A girl that had a beauty so unearthly that screamed she wasn't human, Katherine felt fury and jealousy grip her heart as the black-haired beauty ran to HER Stefan and started coddling him, she felt despair as she noticed Stefan melt in her touch with some rugrats with him. What the hell was going on?!

Niklaus looked down at Katherine as his brothers took hold of her, he looked to Stefan who was holding Hailey close to him along with the boys. Katerina had much to answer for, escaping him was already punishable by death. But to have used her powers to take advantage of his then-human brother was disgusting. He felt immense anger as she was throwing glares at his sister-in-law, they already had to deal with Elena. She was only safe because she was useful, but Katherine was of absolutely no use and therefore totally disposable. He and his brothers took satisfaction as Katerina finally had a look of horror done her face. His hybrids did good work acting as double agents. He gripped her face painfully and spoke with his voice laced with venom, "Hello Katerina, we have a lot to catch up on."

~Time Skip 2 and 1/2 Months Later~

*Hailey Potter*

 With how big she has gotten she is surprised by how much bigger she will be getting. By Hermione’s calculations Hailey is considered to be in the 7 month gestation period despite only having to cook the bun in her oven for a little over two months. They were right to start the preparations for the baby as soon as they left Hogwarts and arrived back to base. Hailey made it a point to move in and never leave the Burrow after her first month unless absolutely necessary. Which was a good decision as an unexpected affect with Hailey being pregnant with a Muggle Vampire lead to her being very adverse to the sun, she had an instinct whenever she didn’t have Stefan’s ring with her to just avoid direct sunlight as much as possible. She had stuck her hand near the window once to close while it was still sunny without the ring, it was strange as the sun didn’t harm her but it was almost as if her baby had just projected their instinct of avoiding the sun. Her pregnancy while similar to witches with a vampire as the sire, still had many unknown factors with Stefan being a muggle. Glamours were uncomfortable to have on too long and with how petite she was you could already tell she was carrying when she was in the considered three month gestation. Everyone was informed of her pregnancy being faster than normal but they were still shocked to see her growing so rapidly.

 With only the Weasley parents, Ron, and Ginny staying at the Burrow they were happy to offer up any of the boys previous rooms for Hailey to pick for her and her baby. She decided to choose Bill’s old room as he has a noise cancellation charm on his room from his early days of practicing curses. Despite everyone’s protest she didn’t want to bother anyone if the baby gets fussy at night. She had commissioned the twins and Bill to help develop a necklace that unleashed a very strong Stupify and Protego when the wearer was attacked. Remus and McGonagall had decided that with her baby on the way she would need to catch up quickly to graduate early from Hogwarts. The Ministry would just take it as her not wanting to be overrun with hordes of fans at Hogwarts.

 During her first month she had done all the necessary shopping. With a limited amount of magic that can be used on a pregnant woman she forego all but one spell to use on herself, Puer Conditione. It was used to check on the baby’s heartbeat and health. But with the refusal to do a gender reveal spell she decided to get mostly monochrome and prime color onesies. In her shopping people had just assumed she was shopping for her godson. She did decide to get a couple of onesies that magically resize for ages newborn to five years old. She had gotten a griffin onesie and a dragon onesie for her baby to enjoy. She grabbed a cat onesie as a joke for Teddy, but Remus was dismayed to tell her that his son absolutely loves it. She couldn’t hide her smirk from him.

 She wasn’t going to buy baby toys yet but she did buy a bouncer with the Hogwarts house’s mascots that’s enchanted to start rotating and play ‘twinkle little star’. She was gifted with a few things from her family that she is sure her baby will absolutely love. Hermione had enchanted a few baby books to show the story until she could start teaching her niece or nephew to read early. Ron had gifted her a Winnie-the-Pooh bear and ensured her it was enchanted by Bill to prevent it to being tampered with, he said so while sending a glare to the twins. The twins had gifted her a blanket that was black and purple that was in the shape of a bat, she of course snorted at the design. Molly gave her a self written little notebook that had a lot of good tips in calming down the baby with just about anything at hand. Arthur had given her a family of rubber ducks. Charlie gave her a couple of stuffed dragons that were charmed to fly around the room at a slow pace. Bill had given her a book of runes in case she wanted extra protection around the baby’s crib. Percy had gotten her a few adorable onesies that had printed suits on it, something about it’s never too early to dress for the job you want. Ginny had given her a kiddie broom, she’s going to wait a while before letting the baby on it. Remus gave her the same gift that he gave her parents apparently, a coupon book for anytime that she would need him to watch her little bundle of joy.

 By the time she was in the last week of her first month her magic had been proven to spazz out. Ms.Weasley was overjoyed, she said it was an old wives tale about that if the mother experiences random accidental magic burst it increases the chance that her baby would be magically gifted. Remus told her about her mother having to deal with everything in the room floating and bouncing whenever she had hiccuped inside her womb, James was overjoyed. Molly had told her it’s expected for a pregnant witch to do at least one burst of accidental magic or it would be considered a sign that the baby was going to be born without magic. While it made her happy as it could mean her baby is able to protect themselves, Hailey did not care if her baby ended up a squib or the next Merlin she just wants them to be healthy and happy. Every other day her baby would either kick or hiccup and something would either be transfigured in some way or charmed to float or stick to the ceiling. By the time her second month started she was practically buying Honeydukes out of every Bloodpop they had, and is she was out the only other way to appease her child’s hunger was a barely cooked steak or a Blood Replenishment potion. Other than that her baby had apparently gotten her sweet tooth and was constantly wanting some dessert with any meal she had. Though she was glad to have the idea of melting down her Bloodpops as a kind of syrup for her desserts, the baby loves it for sure.

 It had also became apparent when the baby started kicking that it was going to be a rough few weeks. While it was a joyous occasion to feel the little one move it would more often then not leave her with a massive bruise or some bone bruising on her lower stomach. Being one of Madame Pomfrey’s patient came with perks. She already knew Hailey’s history, she wouldn’t go to the prophet, and she was trust worthy enough to be told about Hailey’s unique pregnancy. She had told Hailey a fact that depressed and at the same time filled her with joy. Her baby was half vampire but wouldn’t truly become one until they come of age. While happy she won’t have to see her baby grow old and pass she was also sad that they would also not have a choice in becoming immortal like the mother and father. But the baby will already have most of a vampires abilities but will go into their true inheritance by the time they become of age. The baby will only have one weakness and that is a herb called vervain. She had given Hailey a batch of Blood Replenishing potion, Skele-Gro to help strengthen her bones, and a vial of healing cream for her bruises. It was decided that in order to keep her baby safe it would be better to have the delivery at the Burrow and contact Madame Pomfrey immediately. At Saint Mungo’s it was too much of a chance to rely on patient confidentiality when everyone wanted the smallest details about her. Her child would never be left alone if word got out and it would be harder to leave the community. Having the baby at home was her best bet.

 “Oh, come off it Fred! I’m obviously going to be the cool uncle!”, George had said one day entering the sitting room with his twin in tow from the floo.

 “You come off it! Grown people can’t even tell us apart how on Merlin’s Beard is the baby going to be able to!”, Fred said to rebuff him. Then of course Ron and Ginny entered the argument stating it wouldn’t matter if the baby would be able to differentiate them. They were of course going to be the cool aunt and uncle. That sparked an argument with Hermione and Ginny. And the twins and Ron just kept spouting off about how they were of course going to be the baby’s favorite. With everyone shouting her annoyance and temper had started to spike. Over the few weeks they had learned pretty quickly that her temper was to be even more feared than a Molly Weasley Howler. Her mood swings was something they had not expected one day she had came down smiling which quickly turned to bawling, which turn to rage when the twins had asked her to calm down. They learned a very important lesson that day. So whenever they felt the air shift, the immediately paled and stopped talking. Hailey swept them with her eyes and a glare that made them fear for dear life. They let out a breath of relief whenever she got up a kind of waddled to the kitchen for more chocolate pudding it would seem the baby didn’t want much blood that day.

 Whenever she was left to her own devices all she thought about was Stefan. She wondered if by instinct that he knew he was going to be a father. She wondered how he was doing being away from her for an extended period of time with them being mates. She always had questions about their situation but there was hardly any place she could get answers from. Just like before her situation could only ever happen to her. Whenever she remembers their meeting she would absentmindedly play and fiddle with his ring on the necklace. She found out from Hermione that it was a daylight ring. She was filled with warmth when she had realized that Stefan had wanted so badly to leave a piece of him that he had risked being burnt up by the sun. She hoped that he was okay, she really hoped that his brother and ex-girlfriend were keeping their distance from him. From what she gathered from Stefan they were constantly a thorn on his side that believed that there was no way of them being wrong for whatever actions they did against him. Hailey just knows that if she ever meets them and see them being a bother to Stefan, she won’t hesitate to hex them into submission.

 Since returning she also was bombarded by the amount of mail she was getting from nearly every wizarding family in Britain. All of them were the same, thank you’s with eventually leading to that they wanted to repay her by offering their eldest son’s hand in marriage. She responded as respectfully as she could that she was not interested and had just wanted to recuperate from the battle. Most have given up but the Malfoy family has been very insistent especially Lucius with Narcissa backing him as it was always her plan to have Draco take the Black name and mantle. Lucius had been pardoned as he had told the Ministry who was a death eater in the inner circle and undercover at Hogwarts. His family, excluding Draco, was being snubbed by the entire wizarding community so he was trying to save face by trying, and failing, to arrange a marriage between Draco and Hailey. Draco was openly against the marriage as he felt that his entire life had already revolved around Hailey because of his father. He was grateful to her, they are in decent terms and he wasn’t going to repay her by trying to force himself on her. The least he could do for her now is taking his place as the head of the Malfoy family. His father being in Azkaban for an extended period with dementors should be enough to convince the Goblins that Lucius was not in the right mind to lead the family. He had told her of his plan through a letter he was able to secretly mail out.

 She did not want to marry anyone from the community, they were all just trying to share her titles. So she was happy to receive Draco’s letter. She was especially happy when she got a notice from Gringotts that ensured her that she wouldn’t and even couldn’t marry someone from the community.

* Flashback to 6 weeks ago *

 The makeshift family was trying to have breakfast but it was proving to be a bit difficult. Not difficult but most of everyone was just distracted and not paying attention to their own food. All the Weasleys were present along with Remus and Tonks with Teddy. They had decided that once a week they would gather enjoy a meal and of course check up on Hailey. She was at first making funny faces and playing peekaboo with her godson but then the food was put on the table. Hailey was eating everything that was put in front of her and her family just watched in awe. They weren’t use to her eating much, Molly had used to need to force Hailey to remember to eat meals and snack on more than one occasion. While finishing up her scrambled eggs, Hailey was about to ask for pancakes using a melted Bloodpop as syrup when she noticed in the corner of her eye a standard owl landing at the window. She took the letter expecting to see a wizarding family sigma but was surprised to see the Gringott symbol. She opened it knowing her family still had their focus on her and read aloud.

“Dear Lady Potter-Black

It has come to our attention that you have recently entered a mating bond with a Stefan Salvatore, a muggle vampire, we congratulate you for a successful ritual. Please note that the documents attached would make it official on Gringott records that Mr.Salvatore has now become your spouse and husband. It should also be noted that once sent to Gringotts it would also update your records at the Ministry without alerting officials there. Please do hurry to complete the documents. Congratulations and may your family line continue.

Griphook-Gringotts Head Goblin”, she was shocked but a small part of her was relieved. She knew that Stefan was it for her. She didn’t want anyone else and she hoped he felt the same. The goblins had always loved to pull a fast one on the wizarding community, so them ensuring that the most eligible bachelorette was taken was icing on the cake. It also means that no matter how hard Lucius would push for a marriage, he would never be able to make it happen. She was so caught up in her thoughts that she was only broken when she heard chairs scraping against the floor. She turned around and saw her entire family had faces with shock and disbelief. She tried to ease the tension.

“It’s a good thing Stefan already gave me a ring then to make it official.”, she said jokingly while unclamping the necklace to put his ring on her left ring finger. Then playfully she had started twirling her hand to show off the ring. But all that brought was them to just continue to stare at her until Ron had replied.

“Only you Hailey, could enter an accidental marriage while already carrying the bloke’s baby.”, he said with a sigh of begrudgingly acceptance. And everyone had copied his sigh. Hailey just continued to beam at them and stare fondly on her newly appointed engagement ring.

*End of Flashback*

 That was at least one problem solved in their predicament but there was also a few others. In her early weeks she was able to go around and keep up appearances by either baggy clothes for expected time consuming trips to wherever and a glamour for when it was for a shorter one. But five weeks in her pregnancy, it was apparent that she would need to have a glamour on for every trip and she was getting fed up of being hounded by reporters and paparazzi. She was advised to just stay in the Burrow as with her magic more in touch with her emotions now more then ever would likely cause a huge scene if a reporter like Rita Skeeter was going to continue grating on her nerves. She didn’t want anyone to know about her substantial power boost to her magic and it would obviously lead to questions on how she got it. So she opted to just stay home all the time.

 She was growing to be huge and she still had about half a month to go. She couldn’t see her feet anymore and she constantly complained about feeling like a whale on the beach when she couldn’t get up from her bed without assistance. Molly had said that the baby just looked bigger because she was a very petite girl. She was sure that her baby was either going to inherit either their father’s or their grandfather’s height with how big she was. Her father was 6’0 ft tall and Stefan was 5’11. She was going to be surrounded by tall people.

 She woke up one morning with Braxton kicks being a bit stronger than she was used to. Her baby was also not doing any favors by making it be known that they wanted her up.

 “Come on little one be nice for mummy, okay?”, she started to rub her belly to calm the baby and it eventually did the trick. It was a good thing she had downed some Skele-Gro the night before to make her bones repair and stronger. She was able to actually get herself up this morning without any help. She decided to wear the light blue maternity dress Molly had adjusted and handed down to her. It wouldn’t be good if anyone from Hailey Potter’s close knit circle was seen buying maternity clothes. Her dress was a bit snug in the chest area but it flowed freely. She had gone up a cup size during her pregnancy and was now a double d which did no favors for her poor aching body. Not to mention the damn Braxton kicks take a while to stop so she is definitely going to be sitting for most of the day. She grabbed the elder wand from her nightstand and quickly made her way downstairs before it could get stronger and force her to stay in her room for the day.

 It was another weekly meal and gather time, so everyone was present. By the time she was seated in her usual place she was hit with a very strong contraction that would of made her keel over if she wasn’t sitting. She let out a groan and it captured everyone’s attention. They all stood from their chairs in worry. Hermione made her way towards Hailey to see if she could be of any help. But then Hailey looked up to everyone with a pale face.

 “I think my water just broke!”, six simple words had caused every male in Burrow to start panicking. Remus and Arthur had fainted.

 “Quick! Someone call Pomfrey and get the bed ready!”, Molly had said and ordered. Ron and his brothers were quick to try and get Hailey to the bed. Bill, Charlie, and Percy were going to help move her and settle her. Ron and the twins making the bed as comfortable as possible for Hailey. Ron was on blanket and towel duty, George was in charge of getting as many pillows as he could for her and fluffing them, and Fred was to get the pails of water that would be needed. Once the room was ready and that Hailey was situated, Hermione kicked them out to help change Hailey into a medical gown that Poppy had given them. Once changed Tonks had pulled her hair back into a bun to not be in the way. Fleur had came in with Poppy as she was the one left to contact her. Hailey was starting to sweat and grunt as her contractions were getting closer together. Hermione came to her side to hold her hand in comfort. They both shared a weak and scared smile.

 “Alright everyone out! Ms.Granger you can stay as I’m sure Ms.Potter is likely to be more calm with you by her side.”, Hermione nodded in confirmation at Poppy’s words. Everyone had left the room and waited with everyone else in the hall. Seems like they finally resuscitated Remus and Arthur. They all waited anxiously. They started hearing Poppy encouraging Hailey to push and Hailey groaning in pain from doing so. It continued like this for an hour. Everyone had taken up rotating between sitting and clenching their hands to pacing. Then it happened.

 “Just one more big push Hailey the heads almost out!”, Poppy said loudly for Hailey to hear her over her groaning. She let out a scream as she pushed again and the she heard it. A newborn cry letting the family know that it was here.

 “Congratulations Ms.Potter you have a healthy baby boy!”, Poppy said while quickly swaddling the baby in a baby blue blanket. She smiled but it quickly faded and she felt another contraction hit her. She let out another loud groan. Poppy quickly gave the crying baby boy to Hermione who was too shocked to do nothing else other than hold him. What was happening?! Poppy had taken a look and was shocked to see that there was another head trying to come through.

 “Ms.Potter, I know your very tired but I need you to give me another good push!”, Hailey looked at her in shock. She was having twins?!? She felt another contraction hit and prepared herself. She was once again filled with fire. Her determination to birth her baby was just as strong as the first time. She kept pushing and pushing until eventually a similar cry rang through the room.

 “Another boy Ms.Potter!”, as Poppy was swaddling her other son in a dark blue blanket she leaned back on the pillows in exhaustion but was glad she was able to do it. Poppy had given her a potion that perked her up a bit but she was still very tired. She did it, she brought her little bundles of joy into the world. Hermione and Poppy smiled at her and presented her crying little boys to her. They had but diapers and little beanies on the babies already. Both a little pink but otherwise absolutely perfect in her eyes. She smiled as they had handed her boys over and placed them in her arms. Once they were settled in their mother’s arms the boys had finally calm down. She felt so happy finally holding her boys who were just as content to be with her.

 Her eyes started to water a little as she observed them and to her surprise opened their eyes to look at her. Her eldest in baby blue had inherited her emerald eyes and his brother in dark blue had inherited his father’s blue eyes with the perfect smudge of green. She pushed down her shock, smiled, and planted kisses to both of their heads. The babies gave her a little gummy smile. She was broken out of her trance when everyone had started to come in and see the new additions to the Potter line. All were shocked to see that Hailey had given birth to twins. Though not as surprised as they should be, Hailey is never one to follow the norm. She first did it by being the first girl born into the Potter family in the last millennia and now by being the first to give birth to twins in the family. Everyone had just stared at the babies and Hailey for a moment. Ron walked up to her and crouched to the bed level.

 “So, Hailey I take it I have nephews?”, Hailey just smiled. She looked to Ron and Hermione and it strengthened her resolve.

 “Well, I was actually hoping you could take on the Godfather title with Hermione as their Godmother.”, the couple went still and slowly they were both on their knees with tears of joy in their eyes as they looked at their best friend. Hailey then surprised them again by handing Baby Blue to Ron and Darker Blue to Hermione. Both gaining misty eyes again and rocking their godsons. Soon everyone had a turn in holding the twins. Soon enough Molly had fished out a wizard camera to take a moving picture. Everyone including Poppy had surrounded Hailey with the twins in her arms again on the bed. Molly set the timer.

 “Everyone say ‘Happy Birthday Boys’, when the camera goes off.”, and everyone did. On the back of the picture Hailey had written the boy’s birthday July 13th. Everyone had decided to let her rest. They would need to get another one one the boys got bigger.

 “Get some rest dear, once your ready we’ll help with naming the boys.”, with everything happening so fast she hasn’t got much of a chance to think about what to name her baby let alone both of her baby boys. Everyone left the room as peaceful as they could. She got her wand and softly lift the crib to move it closer to her. The boys were starting to fuss a bit at being hungry. Without thinking Hailey placed the boys gently onto the bead and started undoing the front of her gown. Once she raised them up she realized what she had just done. The boys were quick to calm down once they had gotten some of their mother’s milk in their mouths. She picked one up and started patting his back until he burped and repeated the process to his brother. They were quick to fall asleep after that with a few rocking motions. She placed them in the crib and just watched over them for a while. The boys were close and were holding hands and it was just the cutest thing that she couldn’t help taking another picture. Fatigue had finally hit her and she climbed back into bed and fell asleep as well.

*Hailey’s Dream*

 She was nursing one of the boys when she felt arms wrap around her waist and a chin on her shoulder. She looked to see Stefan looking at their son with a smile with his eyes filled with awe. She passed their son into Stefan’s arms and saw him panic but slowly relax as his son made his arms a temporary bed. She went to go get their other son when the dream started to shift and fade into a similar landscape that she has seen only once before. She turns around expecting to to see Sirius. She was shocked and her eyes were beginning to water, as while it was Sirius, in the black robes she saw in him last time, he was also accompanied with her father, who was in silver robes, both smiling like the marauders they were. She was reeling it in and counting to 10, she just needed to calm down before she accidentally starts crying at being with her father for the first time since she saw his spirit during the war. Once Sirius starting speaking she was able to listen.

 “Hello pup.”, her godfather said with a joyful smile, once she got a better look at him she realized he had actually become younger. When she looked to her father she noticed that he looked exactly as he did in her baby photos. She shakily made her way to both of them and could not stop herself from hugging them. She felt some tears escape but she calmed down after both of them had patted and rubbed her back, similar to what Remus did a while back. She pulled back and all three were smiling.

 “Hello Prongslette, I heard from your dogfather that you’ve been pretty busy. I’ve heard a few things about that mate of yours on this side. He’s got a pretty decent reputation. But that boy will be facing a haunting of his life if he steps a toe out of line.”, her dad said with a smirk. She blushed, their behaviors were a lot like Fred and George.

 “We were just given the news. Congratulations Bambi, you have led the Potter line to another generation! I’m a grandpa! I was super excited but your mother hexed me silly when I also started to call her grandma.”, her father added with a sheepish grin while rubbing the back of his nape, a similar habit she has when embarrassed.

 “Yeah, from what I’ve heard about mom, you had definitely dug yourself at least five more graves.”, she said to tease her dad. Her and Sirius shared a chuckle while her father pouted at them.

 “Now, Hailey I’m afraid we didn’t show up for a social call. Death wants a meeting with you about recent developments, they’ll also have some company.”, Sirius said and just like that the mood became somber, she knew something must have changed the prophecy had predicted one child bit twins. What happened?

 “As you know Sirius will be the vessel for death. However I myself have no clue who’s vessel I’ll be.”, her father said with little worry and her godfather shared the same attitude. Safe to say she now knows why Moony has so many gray hairs. Sirius, just like before, had his robes hood go over his eyes and her dad’s robes followed it’s lead. Death was quick to give greetings to their mistress.

 “Hello my mistress, I am pleased to see that the Heir has been born.”, Death would be even more please if his sibling would leave. Death did not want to share their mistress. When James had started to speak it was very different from Death’s voice, the voice coming out had no gender and had a presence that made Hailey feel in awe.

 “Hello our Chosen.”, they said with a smirk while side glancing at their sibling to see them highly irritated. Hailey was very confused who exactly is Death’s sibling and why were they calling her their Chosen?

 “Allow us to introduce ourselves. I am what you identify as the force of Magic. And we call you our chosen for in simple terms we favor you in magical power, as we have done to your ancestors as well. We allow you to do the impossible and things never done with magic before. I believe in your community they would compare you to our previous Chosen, Merlin.”, Magic said then waited a while to see their new Chosen’s reaction. She seemed to have gone into shock as she just kept staring at them while doing an impression of a goldfish.

 “Magic’s Chosen?!?! I’m already out of the norm already by being a forever sixteen year old mother and Mistress of Death!! Now your saying me and my children are the descendants of Merlin and have the chance to be that powerful?!?”, she said on the verge of hysteria. Her children and her have hit the pinnacle of Potter Luck. She would never have a semblance of a calm life, she thought with a bittersweet tone. After losing her cool, she took a deep breath in and let out a very defeated sigh. By now she should just accept that her life could never be calm or resemble anything close to average.

 The entities looked weary and were waiting for her to calm down before talking again. Magic had decided to interfere and called in a favor with their sibling Fate. While Fate hates that their siblings keep making them rewrite their plans they can’t do much, they owed them and they hate being in debt for favors. Once it looked like she was waiting for them to get on with it, Magic stepped forward a bit.

 “As you know you are my Chosen and Death’s Mistress. We both wished to keep it in your bloodline but to make another like you was deemed to…be problematic for our other siblings. They have already witnessed you with the power of I, battling a man who has fifty years and over of experience and knowledge and winning despite not even getting a decent gauge of magical knowledge. Then of course as Death’s Mistress another added power boost, eternal life, and youth. It’s safe to say our siblings were weary of having two beings like that wandering the mortal realm. As such I brought up the idea of ‘dividing’ the power. So I asked Fate to instead give you two children, one to take my mantle and one to take Death’s.”, Magic said the last part as if it was the smartest plan they had ever come up with.

 “So, let me get this straight. In order for you to keep the power in my bloodline you decide to give me twins to split the responsibilities.”, that’s just…her little family is proving to be quite impressive. At least she won’t have to worry about the boys not being able to protect themselves.

 “Yes, mistress. I’m afraid that we must be going but our vessels have requested to take some time to speak with you. Being entities of powerful forces comes with too many responsibilities.”, both sighed in dread before flashing a small smile to Hailey. Their hoods dropped and James and Sirius were back having matching mischievous grins.

 “Now Bambi, as it’s possible we won’t be able to see you for a while we want to help in baby names. What ideas do you have so far?”, her father asked in excitement with a slight bounce.

 “It was actually what I wanted to ask you last time pup, we want to be able to help in naming the next generation of marauders! ”, Sirius said with a triumphant smile. She blinked in surprise but it melted into a soft smile. And she blushed at what she was going to tell them.

 “Well, originally I was going to name my baby James Sirius if it was a boy but I’m thinking one will be James and the other Sirius. ”, both males started to get misty eyed, they were happy that she was going to honor them by giving her boys their names but they also didn’t want the boys to feel like they had to be like them.

 “Thank you, Bambi. But the boys deserve to have their own identity.”, her father said. And she thought about it, her name itself would bring the boys trouble as no doubt people would put them on a pedestal if they were ever discovered. Then she came up with the perfect idea.

 “Understandable, so instead of first names they’ll have them as middle names. But what to give them as first names?”, she thought very hard. She knew she wanted the boys to share her titles. As per tradition her eldest will inherit the Potter name and her other son will inherit the Black name. Once her youngest becomes of age he’ll have to change his name from Potter to Black. Then a flash of Stefan smiling came to her. She wanted the boys to have their father’s name, as a second last name. On their birth certificates that Poppy had left for her she’ll have to write Potter-Salvatore. Once they reach the muggle world however they’ll only go by the Potter name. She then remembered that both her boys would inherit her…other titles.

 She thought about it and thought that perhaps she should name the boys after which title they would inherit. She thought about names and asked the males what name should she give to her so that would be Death’s heir. They thought about it, with a vampire father and with Hailey as his father he would no doubt be quite the fighter. Then Sirius remembered a name that he was forced to remember because of Pureblood lessons. It would be the perfect name for the son that would eventually become the Master of Death.

 “How about Caelan pup? In Irish Gaelic it means ‘eternal warrior’. ”, she thought about it and Sirius was right her son would be quite the fighter and as stated before they would all be immortal. She smiled at him then turned to her father for help in naming the son that would be Magic’s next Chosen. James really had to think about it, his first thought was Merlin but that was the equivalent to naming a child Buddha or Zeus. Not to mention his grandson would also be immortal and he’s like for it to start with ‘c’, it was better than having the twins have rhyming names. Then he remembered meeting a young man by the name of Cedric, he was the first to be taken at the beginning of the war but maybe something similar as again he wants his grandson to have his own name while try to honor the young man that had died for his daughter. Then he remembered Ollivanders, how their was a wood that fits the criteria perfectly and could be used as a good name.

 “How about…Cedar? It’s wood is used to make powerful wands and it’s also used to represent immortality. It also brings honor to a certain young man.”, she was shocked at the name. She didn’t realize her father met Cedric. But she thought about it the name matches perfectly. She always regretted not being able to save Cedric. She had nightmares of his death for a while, he was a good friend. He had died before he could actually live his life. She remembered everyone seemingly forget him as life kept going. She didn’t want for him to be lost to history, he didn’t deserve that. So she agreed, he deserved to be honored in some way just for him to know that she in no way would ever forget him. She gave both males a hug as she felt that she was beginning to wake up.

 She woke up to the sound of her boys getting fussy. She went to cradle both of them and both were trying to get to her chest, they must be hungry. She settled herself in bed and began nursing. While doing so she examined the boys. Now that she was well rested she could see that their eye color wasn’t the only thing that separated the boys. Fraternal twins then. Her babies were fair skinned like her but her younger baby seemed to have been unfortunate to get the Potter hair gene while his older brother inherited their father’s. A little while later she had put the boys back in their crib and wondered how she was going to decide which one got which title. She was getting the boys onesies ready for them to wear when they had started to miss her and both began to cry.

 She rushed back to them and they calmed down once they saw her, she smiled and pulled some funny faces for them. She picked them both up and decided to dress the older twin in the griffin onesie and the younger in the dragon onesie. She put them back in the crib to get the camera and soon enough they were crying from being away from her. She was trying to hurry but she couldn’t find that darn camera! She finally found it and rushed back to her babies, the scene she came back to shocked her still. Her son in the dragon onesie was floating while crying and her son in the griffin onesie eyes had changed: his sclera (white part of the eye) had become red and the veins surrounding his eyes also became red and more pronounced. Once they noticed her they calmed down and returned to their original state. She walked up to their crib with widened eyes. She tried to lift her own mood by telling herself the good news.

 “Well little ones you just made it easier for mummy to name you.”, she said in a baby voice that caused her boys to start smiling. She grabbed the birth certificate for her oldest and turned her head slightly to him.

 “You’ll be Caelan James Potter Salvatore. Heir to Death and to the Potter name.”, her son started gnawing on his small fist while just staring at her with the same emerald eyes. She used her elder wand to write it. She grabbed the other certificate and then she turned her head to her youngest.

 “And you will be Cedar Sirius Potter Salvatore. Heir to Magic and to the Black name.”, he just began yawning but Hailey was happy that her boys were no longer nameless. She quickly jotted the name down. She then started thinking of what other items that she was going to need to buy since they were expecting only one baby. She was interrupted from her thoughts when there was a knock at her door and it opened to the rest of the family. They all had matching faces of fondness when seeing her close to her babies. Then they noticed the certificates in her hands, she must have finally named them. Hermione and Ron walked towards her and asked if they could know their godsons’s name. She didn’t want to leave anything out so she explained about her dream to the point of the boys showing which names belonged to them.

 Ron’s eye started twitching, of course his poor godson’s would be ‘blessed’ by Potter Luck. Hailey noticed it and just started laughing at him. He ignored her and soon the room went quiet again everyone just staring at Caelan and Cedar. The rest of the family left the room soon to give the new mother some more time with her sons. She picked her boys up and sat down with them on her bed. The longer she looked at them the more she started to think of their father. She was sad that he missed the birth of his son and even more sad that he didn’t even know that he was a father. A hollow feeling was in her chest but she knew that there was a plan for them all and she would just have to follow it. Now that she had her babies it was now safe to travel, her family said it would be the safest option to leave soon after the baby was born.

 Some of the family had to stay behind to help in rebuilding and making sure to change the laws about half-lings. She had heard the bustle going on outside and knew that they would likely be leaving later on today or very early tomorrow. The family and her decided that when leaving for America she would be accompanied by Ron, Hermione, Remus, Tonks, and Teddy. She wondered if Teddy being half werewolf would cause a problem with the twins being half vampire. She quickly shook off the thought and put the boys to sleep after nursing them in their crib. She started packing her own things in her magically extended suitcase. Once she was done she called in her traveling companions and asked how they should decide where to go. Tonks holding a sleepy Teddy had handed her a dart while Remus and Ron had started to hang a map of America on the wall. Hermione was off to the side holding a few other maps.

 Pretty soon she got the gist of what she was supposed to do. She closed her eyes and threw the dart and it landed on the State of Virginia. Hermione quickly picked out the map of the state and handed it to Ron. He grabbed the dart off, hanged the map, and handed the dart back to Hailey. She closed her eyes again and when she opened them she saw that the dart had landed on very peculiar named town. Remus walked up to the map to get a closer look and while he did that Hailey observed him, he seemed to be fine around the babies so Teddy should be able to get along with them. She broke out of her thoughts when Remus started talking.

 “Alright, we’ll leave pretty early tomorrow so get a lot of rest tonight. Hailey make sure you eat soon. Everyone make sure you pack everything you need first then pack what you want. The babies will be a little fussy from a portkey but they’ll calm down a while after. We’ll be leaving for Mystic Falls at dusk tomorrow.”, with the agenda laid out everyone left her room. She looked at the map for a while and fiddled with Stefan’s ring that was still on her on her left ring finger before finally deciding it was time for her to eat. She picked up the boys and headed for the kitchen. Unknown to all of them the father of the boys was evading the wrath of his a thousand year old ex while his chosen brother was laughing at his expense. Unknown to the father his world was about to change in ways that he couldn’t even dream or imagine.

Chapter 17

Immortal Dilemmas

Death does not discriminate. Whether they are old or young, rich or poor, man or woman, evil or good death would come to claim when Fate had deemed their life had been long enough. There are those who try to avoid Death and believe they fooled death by gaining semblance of immortality. Death does not take likely to such foolery. There was a reason for why Mother Nature made even them have weaknesses, they do not wish to enact their sibling’s wrath. The only ones that Death deemed to have the privilege of avoiding them is of course their mistress and her family. Even then there will be a day that Death will claim them as well but unlike other mortals their mistress embraces death much like her mate, they accept death. But then there are others who believe that they do not deserve death and wish to avoid them at all cost, such arrogance does not go unpunished.

Death quite enjoys showing the overconfident and arrogant mortals that all they did was buy time but that was all. In the end the first ‘Immortals’ where taught that their time came at a very steep price just as the Peverell Brothers did. When a Wiccan dared to repeat the past transgressions made by another fool, Death ensured that her road into the afterlife would be excruciating. Especially since hearing that one day the children she had maltreated would one day mean a great deal to their master. The realm that death send her to would ensure as such but as of late they feel something was amiss. Someone was trying to undo their work! They could see Magic could sense it as well but before they could intervene Fate had arrived. They usually just reside in their own realms, they were both in Death’s realm appearing as James Potter and Sirius Black. Fate came to them as a figure with a hooded cloak.

“You’ll do well to leave them to their own devices,siblings.”, Fate said with their usual superior tone. Like death most forces don’t get in their way but instead of fear it was more to save a figurative headache. Fate can be a bitch if they didn’t get what they want in they wanted it. Magic and Death, however, couldn’t have cared less at that moment.

“I’ll be damned if I let some delusional mortal become a vexing to MY MISTRESS!”, Death said with a thunderous tone. Glaring at their sibling so intensely that it made them flinch but hold their ground. Fate was about to speak but was interrupted by Magic.

“Nor will I allow such a heinous use of me to become another dilemma for MY CHOSEN!”, Magic out of all their siblings Death and Magic had to be the one’s most hated by Fate. No matter their carefully crafted plans if Death and Magic decided on going off course there wasn’t much that Fate could do in retaliation. In came the tantrum.

“I HAVE LET BOTH OF YOU DICTATE ENOUGH OF HER JOURNEY! IF SHE IS TRULY WORTHY OF YOUR ATTENTION AND TITLES THEN SHE WILL OVERCOME IT! If not then that child was not wor-“, Fate did not get to finish their sentence as both of their siblings decided to send a wave of power to knock them away.

“DO NOT SPEAK ANOTHER ILL WORD OF HER! That child, as you put it, has overcome obstacles and pain that you as a mortal could never dare to approach or hope to bear!”, Magic said trying to reel back their anger from such slander of their chosen.

“It must happen Magic. If not dealt with now that Wiccan would just be more of a threat to your dear chosen. Besides she is not the only impudent mortal that will come.”, Fate said after picking themselves up and dusting themselves off. Magic made a move to knock the down again but was held back by Death and they looked at their sibling curiously.

“Wait Magic…think. Though as I loathe to admit it Fate has a point. Our Hailey has survived and conquered what no other could begin to imagine. We must…not intervene.”, it pained Death but Fate needed to run their course. The only way to help Hailey is that she could still use the gifts and powers bestowed upon her. Magic was baffled.

“BUT-!!”, Magic was of course protective of their Chosen. Their vessel was a her father and a father’s duty was to protect their family.

“Enough! This must happen or consequences will be troublesome.”, Fate said bitingly tired of having to argue about not getting their way. Both Magic and Death were annoyed by their outburst. Death nodded to Fate begrudgingly. They had to nudge Magic to do the same.

“FINE!”, they said. Not happy with having to put Hailey in any risk.

~Back in Mystic Falls~

Hailey was glad that Klaus had made good progress with his brothers. Elijah was a gentleman, Finn was quite curious over everything, and Kol seemed very interested in her kind and magic in general. She feel it best to not yet inform him about her ‘chosen’ status. They’ve only been awake for barely a couple of hours. She and the family had just welcomed the pack in and got them settled. She’ll have to speak to Klaus later when he believes it would be appropriate for the pack to go back to base. But until then she quite enjoyed the feeling of a full house.

She and Stefan had recently decided to not attend school. Hermione and Ron would have liked for them to but they understood. Hailey and Stefan have forever to go back to school but they cannot go back to enjoy the boys growing. Just that morning sealed their decision, the boys had reacted to peek-a-boo with their first laughs. It started with Stefan doing tummy time and Hailey recording them. Soon Caelan had started giggling and that triggered Cedar. Stefan had looked up with happy astonishment on his face and saw his wife had happy tears. They both had seen yet another stage of their boys growing and they don’t want to miss anything.

On the first day classes had started Hailey had gone to see Hermione and Ron off. Of course Stefan and the boys tagged along, he had been teaching the wizards to drive along with teaching his new older brothers how to as well. Hailey was a fast learner but had a tendency to be a speed junky, same with Kol. Ron, Remus, and Finn took a bit longer to learn what everything in the car could do but soon got the hang of it. Thankfully he had Hermione to rely on to teach sometimes as well as she was previously taught. It was when they went to a car dealership that Stefan had got a brief glimpse how wealthy Hailey was.

She had barely blinked when she decided to buy three new cars for the family. Stefan had persisted in paying for half of the cost and she had said, “Stefan, don’t worry about it! I could buy every car in the lot and it would barely leave a dent in my inheritance”. She had proceeded to buy the red BMW that Ron was eyeing, she gotten herself a blue ford mustang, and for Remus a black Mercedes. He could tell from the way Remus eye was twitching that they had been over it before but weren’t allowed to say anything. They rode into the school parking lot, garnering a lot of attention staff and student alike. Caroline and Tyler were there to be sure that the magicals were comfortable at the muggle school. While exchanging goodbyes a cough was heard, a very aggravating voice followed behind it.

Elena has had a very crappy last few months. First Stefan had gotten trapped by that freak of nature and said freak of nature continued to cause chaos around town. Elena was still fairly popular but not as much as the Potter’s. They came from old money, they were mysterious, and had gotten into the good books of the now second most rich family in Mystic Falls. Elena felt her temper flare up any time she heard the older people of the town talk about Potter in a sympathetic voice or hear girls envying Potter’s clothes and luck in spouse. She just about had a tantrum when she heard some males leer and lewdly talk about Hailey Freaking Potter and ignore her presence completely. Seeing the mushy scene she had to do something.

“You guys shouldn’t be making such a big scene. Hurry up or else we’ll be late! Stefan, what’s your first period?”, Elena’s plan was to break up the domestic scene and isolate her friends and Stefan from the Potter’s. She’s so frustrated with them being friends with them that all she wanted to do was shake them until some sense got into their heads. She batted her eyes at Stefan and made a sight pout, it used to make Stefan wild. She was unpleasantly surprised at his response.

“I’m not in school anymore, we’re just here to see Ron and Hermione off. Me and Hailey decided to stay home with the boys-“, he didn’t get to finish as Elena unleashed an honest to god tantrum.

“Stefan that is so irresponsible of you! You can’t just drop out! How the hell are you gonna support your ‘family’-“, she didn’t get to finish as Stefan interrupted her. How the hell was she supposed to keep him away from Potter is he’s at home with her all day, every day!

“Incase you forgot Elena! My family is pretty wealthy and so it Hailey’s. We can get a proper education later but right now we don’t want to miss out on the boys.”, Stefan was starting to get fed up with Elena’s entitled attitude towards how he should spend his time. If he wanted to raise his kids with his wife instead of going to school that was his business.

“But-, then how are we supposed to hang out and talk if you’re going to be at home!?”, Elena’s sputtering and ranting was gaining a lot of attention, onlookers had never seen this side of the Gilbert Good Girl. Some were a bit weirded out that she was clinging to a guy that already had kids and was happily married.

“Elena!! We aren’t together anymore remember, we’re not even friends! Any chance of being friends ended when you insulted Hailey and behaved like a straight up stalker!”, Stefan snapped. Now everyone was looking at Elena horrified. What in the world was going on through that girl’s head?

“I’m sorry that you decided that some girl-“, how could Stefan let some new girl come between them! Sure she had feelings for Damon but she knew deep down that they were supposed to be together! She didn’t get to tell him as such because it seems that Elena’s voice has become a new torture tactic for Stefan. Hailey had to hold his hand to calm him down, the sight made Elena more mad if it was possible. And the onlookers were able to tell.

“I’m going to stop you right there because Hailey is not just some girl! She’s my wife! The mother of my children! So yes she means more to me than your delusional relationship that you made in your head! Just let it go Elena and move on. Guys we’ll see you when you get home. Tyler, Caroline take care of them, okay?”, after getting a nod and sympathetic smile from them, Hailey and Stefan made their way back to their car to drive home. Elena made a move to follow them but was blocked by four angry supernatural teenagers. At seeing Caroline and Tyler’s glares she decided to start ranting again.

“I can’t believe you two! You betrayed us and went to the enemy!? Are you guys insane?!”

“Get real Elena, we became their friends there’s nothing wrong with that. We stopped being friends with you because you have become seriously sick in the head!”, Tyler said uncaringly. His words are typical as Tyler was known to be a harsh asshole but him defending the new family was quite the spectacle. Tyler had since sworn his loyalty to his Alpha and his family which included Hailey. He’ll be damned before he lets Elena spout off stupid crap. At Tyler’s words, Elena looked to Caroline for assistance but all Caroline did was turn her nose up and away from her.

“Miss Gilbert, you’ll be wise to leave us alone. From what we’ve heard about you, we really don’t want to be put in your vicinity.”, Hermione said in cold voice. Elena could practically feel the outsiders magic trying to suffocate her.

“Just leave us alone, alright? And if we hear you trying to badmouth or hurt our sister you’ll be sorry.”, Ron didn’t want to hurt a muggle girl, but from what he’s heard from his brother-in-law,he’s willing to hurt anyone who tries to hurt Hailey. A lion never leaves a member of the pride to fend for themselves. Elena was doing a good impression of a fish. They all moved past her with Hermione shoulder checking her.

As soon as they were inside they could feel everyone’s stares and hear the whispers. They paid them no mind and just headed to class. Ron had Tyler in all his classes so nobody dared to get close and ask questions. Less they wish to get decked by Tyler, who was known for having a short fuse. Hermione had Caroline, who let out a tongue lashing about respecting privacy to get people away. Elena was glaring at the quartet throughout the day. If she had been focusing she would have noticed that her friends and even her brother were all trying to avoid her.

Bonnie has been successfully avoiding Elena. She doesn’t trust the Originals but she was not going to risk her life saving Damon of all people. She can relate to what Coraline has said and couldn’t believe Elena. She seen the Potters around town, people had been calling the family that due to it seeming that they just follow everything Hailey Potter did and said. It was surreal to see, like the President with their secret service or something. The school was spreading rumors about Elena being Stefan’s stalker and some kids were even starting to worry that she might try to hurt the Potter Matriarch. After a long hectic first day she was happy to get home and just sleep. However when she woke up she found herself in a strange cave

In front of her was a coffin. What in the- how did she get there? She then, as if in a trance, made her way to it and opened the coffin. Inside it was a beautiful woman. Blonde hair, fair skin, and very traditional clothing. The resemblance to the Original sister popped into her mind. She then felt herself sit down on the ground, she vaguely noticed a circle around her being drawn by an unseeable force. But the trance on her was too strong. Whispers of an ancient language brushed by her ears. A bowl in front of her had lit ablaze and was only put out once she drew blood. When the fire went out, she took a large gasp. As if waking from a nightmare or the startling realization one could move after feeling the affects of sleep paralysis.

Bonnie looked up and her eyes met with a bright blue.

As an unwanted mother resurfaced, familiar faces have arrived via portkey.
