had to post it before I stare at it too much and start hating it
Nevermore fandom: Oh yeah divorce arc let’s go!
The divorce arc: [is still going on since it hasn’t even been 24 hours since Lenore found out about what happened to Duke and White Raven can’t manage to effectively communicate to save their lives]

although she could've recognized me because what if I got infamous in that school for attending like 3 days then dipping
if you think you're being awkward when you greet someone you haven't seen in ages, just know that I atleast appreciate it and I hope the person you greeted does too. Today, some girl I wasn't exactly friends with; tho we were groupmates in a project once, greeted me. I was wearing a hat and my hair was a mess but she still somehow recognized me, and I realized that maybe people do somehow know me, somehow.

Kou you fantastic liar
Despite the first impression, Berenice seems to be the most pragmatic and rational of the misfits. Although she looks frolicsome, fearless, mischievous even, she also dislikes challenges, prefers not to get into big troubles and is used to choosing the line of least resistance. She seems to me like a hedonist who doesn't mind having some fun, but doesn't want to sacrifice her comfort and take unnecessary risks.
In the haunted mansion she suggested they all sit in the bushes instead of taking a losing fight.
When Montresor and Will attack, she tries to escape and leave Lenore alone, and the only one who prevents her from doing so is Eulalie. I don't really blame Berenice for this situation, because she only met Lenore yesterday, but damn it, Bee actually was ready to throw her to Monty (but not ready to leave Eulalie. I know what you are)
In the hideout she is the only one who vehemently opposes Lenore's plan to escape, and to be honest, her words make some sense.
She also changes her mind very quickly in the forbidden wing scene. Although Berenice previously seemed excited about the idea of breaking some rules, she agrees with Morella that this place is pretty creepy and is ready to back down. And again it is Eulalie who made her to stay.
Berenice seems to quickly light up with any idea and just as quickly fades away at the slightest difficulty. Although she doesn't like unnecessary obstacles, she also lacks the determination to stand by her opinion to the end: in all the scenes I've mentioned, she eventually gives up. She grumbles, but follows Eulalie`s dowsing rods; she emphasizes that she doesn't like the idea of escape, and still swears a blood oath. It seems that her habit of choosing the easiest path also makes her poorly predisposed to long–term conflict: in the end, agreeing with the majority is also the line of least resistance.
I think this frame and this line sums up Berenice's approach to life quite well.
She is less competitive than Lenore, less sacrificial than Morella, less snide than Duke, but more rational than Eulalie and more active than Pluto. To be honest, I'm glad that she ended up in the same group as Lenore and Morella in the last episodes, because Berenice will definitely be able to stop them from sacrificing their lives for each other in the most noble but stupid way.
GOD BLESS @a-man-in-the-crowd CAUSE THIS COMMENT MADE MY NEURONS FIRE
So we've all been theorizing about Nevermore recently, but I think a big theme, especially in the backstories, is insanity, mental illness, and just generally being seen as unstable.
For example:
Lenore- Literally a mad woman, this one is obvious
Annabel- Panic attacks, hallucinations, and her biggest fear going mad
Prospero- "I'm not neurotic, I'm actually quite sane" and germophobia
Will- He was gay, which I'm pretty sure was seen as a mental illness in his time period (I'm also 99% certain Johnny killed him but that's a different rant)
Montresor- "You've had the devil in you since the day you were born"
Duke- ‼️FAST PASS SPOILERS‼️(this may be a stretch, but I mean Duke had someone who was untrained chuck knives at him, that's gotta make people think you're a BIT off) ‼️FAST PASS SPOILERS‼️
Eulalie- She's a paranormal girlie in a time where possession was still a common term, come on now
Pluto- probably had PTSD or some sort of something from his dad. He felt RELIEF when he died, there's no way he's entirely alright
We don't really know enough about Ada, Berenice, and Morella's backstories to say anything about them 🤷
IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO SEES THE CONNECTIONS RIGHT???
