Sometimes I randomly remember Henry Winter didn't take the SATs for not being "aesthetically pleasing" and I wonder why I am studying in a field I am not interested in and wasting my life away; then it also hits me that Henry Winter was also rich as fuck and he can afford that.
Dark Academia is pretty in theory; it's too expensive for regular people. We can't go to exclusive colleges and do degrees in ancient languages and fine arts.
No wonder I read books to feed those desires I could never afford in real life.
Life goes on:
Life goes on,
When the blossoms may.
When dry leaves fall down,
In a sun free day.
Life goes on,
When childhood ends.
When you grow apart,
From all your friends.
Life goes on,
When you walk alone.
In sunny paths and trails,
Of a hillside house.
Life goes on,
When you let things go.
When you accept,
There's always left some hope.
Life goes on and on
And on till the-
Day you die and-
Leave your imprint behind.

THESE two are going to be the DEATH OF ME-------WTH IN THE ROMEO AND JULIET ARE THEYYYYY???? And I even mentioned how they PARALLEL EACHOTHER? AHHHHHHHHHHH ASAGIRI-----
Sskk is one of the most emotional rivalries/ships I have ever seen. It is a relationship that actually hits the heart. Skk is iconic. Kyoukenji is cute. Fyolai is poetic. HiguGin is heartwarming. But sskk?
Sskk is deeper than all these dynamics. The more you get into it the more parallels you see, the more symbolism you see. The things they say to each other both stings at times and also makes you cry.
Akutagawa is both at his best and worst whenever he is around Atsushi. And the more the story goes on the less bitter he becomes.
Atsushi despises Akutagawa but he still works with him, because working with Akutagawa makes him more secure, feel as if someone's got his back.
"Don't worry, go you fool"
"That's why Dazai-san left you"
"Just the two of us?"
"Do we need more?"
Akutagawa and Atsushi support and help each other. They work as a team. Putting their differences apart
Because they are quite similar, looking for one thing; reassurance and praise
They have had difficult childhoods with no parental guidance and they grew up to be very different in terms of personality because of their unique circumstances.
All of these emotions. All of this pain in them. That keeps them separate but it also brings them together. Because that's the thing that they both understand. What's it like to have nothing. And they fight because they just want to be a part of something.
And maybe in one universe where Dazai never brought them together, they might be the best of friends like they were always supposed to.
It doesn't matter how their relationship is, soulmates will always find each other.
After all the only person Akutagawa has smiled at besides his sister-------is Atsushi
I can't wait to listen to the new Taylor Swift album to adapt a new personality. Till now I have been: a lovesick highschooler, the girl next door, depressed college student, a popstar, a diva, a lovable goof, a snake, again a more mature lovesick highschooler, a storyteller, a dreamer and now..........let's see.
Looks like a cinnamon roll, is actually a cinnamon roll: Richard Papen
Looks like they could kill you, is actually a cinnamon roll: Francis Abernathy
Looks like a cinnamon roll, could actually kill you: Charles Macaulay
Looks like they could kill you, could actually kill you: Henry Winter
Could kill you by feeding you too many cinnamon rolls: Camilla Macaulay
Does not deserve cinnamon rolls, will actually get killed: Bunny Concoran
It's boring, overused and predictable
I always found that scene hilarious where James comes in middle of the night to Oliver's house to stay for vacation and they decide to share a bed (not sus at all) and in the morning Oliver's sisters are making fun of him when they found the boys sleeping together by asking, "Who's your boyfriend Oliver?" and Oliver is pissed off and embarssed by that but James does not give a fuck about being called Oliver's boyfriend and just says "I'm James. Lovely to meet you both" as if actually addressing himself as Oliver's boyfriend.
Really, Donna kept a lot of the relationships quite ambiguous and we see them through Richard's eyes ( and he is not exactly reliable). I never understood the whole Henry and Camilla relationship, though it was hinted quite early and often.
And Francis and Charles relationship is also quite ambiguous. And we don't know how long it's been going on. Maybe Charles doesn't remember, maybe he just pretends not to (again Richard is not a reliable narrator; also kinda clueless)
Charles kind of broke my whole idea of the story entirely by turning out like be did and it made me put down the book for some time.
And that was not really a rant, I like discussing opinions on my favourite books especially as messy as this one.
So, for my sanity. Let me get this straight (lol); Henry was in love with Camilla and she was in love with him. And Richard was also in love with Camilla but she friendzoned him. Francis and Camilla had kissed (twice) and Charles was furious. Francis was flirting with Richard the entire time ( "cubitum eamus") Richard fantasized about spending his old years with Francis (and they kissed ofc). Richard also described Henry in a very no homo way. Francis and Charles were secretly hooking up. And so were Charles and Camilla (also, Charles was an abuser, why don't people talk about that more?). Richard described Camilla to look very masculine and like Charles to a tee, so he also liked Charles (?). Bunny was a huge homophobe, kinda sus; also had a strange interest in Henry. And Henry was probably in love with Julian (that little weird kiss mentioned ounce). I am a missing something?
Donna. Donna. Donna, what tf is this book is about?
Here's part 2 of the first two episodes of Danny Motta's reaction to bsd
Some quotes are cut down or changed for the character limit. If there are any quotes I missed or you want to be included in future parts plz comment down.
(I mostly doing this for a collection of Danny's quotes for myself lol)
