Duh... I made a wallpaper of Kleytos and me and... We really like it. (The first one is the original).
the gods show you the version of themselves that you need most, your experiences won't be identical to other worshippers/devotees out there because you are different from others and that's okay. that just adds to how beautiful the connection to the theoi really is.
Most of the daemon imagines posted on Tumblr.com are too wholesome. To paraphrase George Carlin, “one of the things I really like to do in my life is complain,” so I’ve come up with some that are more accurate to the Salty Bastard Experience.
Imagine you and your daemon swearing at other drivers together.
Imagine the suffering of everyone else in the car, because there are two of you.
Imagine your daemon watching while you play video games and making fun of you every time you die.
Imagine writing a “strongly worded” email to a coworker, landlord, etc. and your daemon looking over your shoulder and giving you advice on how to make it more subtle, or more polite… or more blatantly passive-aggressive.
Imagine your daemon baring their teeth and snarling at people who try to make small talk on public transportation.
Imagine un-settled daemons intentionally turning into the largest form they can to strategically blockade the entire couch from their siblings.
Imagine your daemon actively encouraging you to turn on the sprinklers when the neighbors’ kids are in your front yard again.
Imagine instead of getting the children of people you hate a recorder or a kazoo as a present, getting them an “educational” picture book about extremely loud animals like the White Bellbird, because their daemons will definitely try out those forms.
John Parry: you can't see your daemon in my world
Me: may I introduce you to a concept called projection

I’m re-reading The Amber Spyglass and I’m once again struck by how good a villain Marisa Coulter is. A terrible person but such a complex character.
In the cave, her duality is so obvious: while drugging Lyra with force and in such a cruel way, she’ll be tender, kiss a lock of her hair, sing a lullaby to her even though she’s never done it before and doesn’t even know the words, try to soothe her, use endearing terms. Afterwards torturing and tearing a bat apart in frustration over the situation - directing her anger towards a smaller creature, then sulking and anguishing about the fact that her daughter hates her and won’t forgive her for all her actions, and she knows it.
At the same time she has this twisted idea that she is keeping Lyra safe by keeping her asleep, and her intention is genuine in that aspect - she isn’t wrong. She’ll feed her and wash her and protect her while being so self-serving and ignoring Lyra’s wishes. But she is hell-bent on not letting anyone hurt her daughter again.
It’s also so heartbreaking that Lyra is calling out for literally anyone but her biological parents to save her, mostly some of her found parents, Iorek and Serafina. Even in her tormented sleep, she doesn’t accept Mrs. Coulter no matter how tender she tries to be.
How as Priest, devotees, and other followers of Aphrodite can we most profoundly increase our connection to her while also venerating her?
It’s simpler then it sounds actually. But the most profound way I’ve found to understand and grow closer to a deity is to apply self discipline to imitate them and their values. In Aphrodite’s case we must examine her as a Goddess. What is she? At her core? She is love, unbridled and unrestricted love and beauty. She exist in all things that fall under this, in the delicate brush strokes of an oil painting, in the bashful smiles of new love, it is these things in which the Goddess resides. We can use this in our practice but choosing to project that energy.
When feeling emotionally triggered ask yourself, what would Aphrodite do? How can I apply love to this situation? Does it warrant the wrathful side of love? Or is there something that can be done to maintain or restore harmony with peace? Before acting ask yourself, is this loving? Does this express love to myself? Does the express love to others?
Show love. Tip 50% just because you can, send that text message, buy a gift, kiss your partner, compliment a stranger.
Show self love.
Go to therapy. Rest. Wear some perfume or cologne, take a shower for the feeling, exercise, compliment yourself anytime you find yourself insulting yourself. Set a boundary. Do shadow work. Meditate. Do positive affirmations as often as you can.
Create beauty.
Paint, sing, compose, draw, write, sculpt, even if you think you suck. Have a conversation with a friend. Tell a story. Clean your home. Light some incense.
Has anybody talked about Sense8 and Daemons though?
