Harry meanwhile being stupid and afraid of change and all the way finding solace with his curse because maybe being old is not so bad (no one calls him boy anymore). Him being reckless and so utterly in love he later on breaks time and space to find fragments of the idiot he now is tied to. Horcruxes can actually exist here because I don't think there is a universe where Tom Riddle is not being paranoid and afraid of war and dying. Them later on overcoming their fear of commitment completely unintentionally along the way sounds in character to me as well.
