he looks like a hurt puppy i’m literally never getting over this
Thinking about the fact that Mike and Will are insinuated and blatantly shown to be attached at the hip, crying-screaming-throwing up over each other for an entire decade and now fighting / showing signs of romantic interest in each other (one confirmed)….but NOT ONE SINGLE SOUL over the course of this entire show (including their parents) has ever called their relationship brotherly or said they were like family?
honestly I’m still floored. Like.
As someone who has watched a million and a half shows and movies, “you’re my brother” or “they’re like family” is one of the easiest plausible deniability things you can do in writing to give yourself an out for a queercoded friendship (especially one with a confirmed gay character)…and the duffers absolutely refused to do it—and instead gave the familial coding to mlvn. It’s iconic.
undervalued character trait of lucas' is his pragmatism, fr. he doesn't worry about the demogorgon until mike puts it on the map, he tells mike that will just went to class early, bc that's the most likely explanation. and then when it comes out will really did go missing, he assumes the worst because that's what's most probable. he's such a realist and it's at times heartbreaking because it'll make him seem optimistic and pessimistic depending on the circumstances and both can turn out equally as sad.
I’ve never known such a lovely day as this
Mike was so soft with Will in season four and I'll actually never get over it. The Will voice was on overdrive but also the way he kept looking at Will?? The literal definition of "soft."
He's down bad your honor.
and there is nothing in this world, absolutely nothing, that will ever change that
Mike's the kinda guy that would give Will his phone to play Candy Crush whenever he's bored and let him use up all of the special boosters he accumulated over the course of 5 months
MIKE WHEELER in S02E06 - THE SPY ⤷ "what's wrong? are you hurting again?"
Sleepy Will who likes to hold things as he dozes like his plush tiger, a pillow, ofc Mike. Then it's Mike struggling to get out of Will's clutches cuz he's awake and once he's up, he's up. Escape is futile cuz Will ain't budging and every time Mike whisper-begs "C'mon lemme go" Will sleepily grunts "no" and squeezes tighter. The only way for Mike to be free is by saying he has to pee and that's when Will let's him go finally.
