These two were probably around 5 and 8 respectively when they saw each other across the street and immediately became friends and had been inseparable ever since!

MAI. the way her face looks when she says it, it’s like azula made her come watch at some point. and ty lee was probably there, too. ty lee probably felt bad for all the kids who lost (the ones who weren’t being dicks anyway), and would take them around the arcade and buy them candy or help them get a stuffed animal from the claw machine to make them feel better. and sometimes mai accompanies her because she gets bored after watching azula for a while
