You're kidding me. Ngl I really thought the Vat7k fandom was safe from proshoppers, but... Then again we have tall Varian anon and people who ship Nuru x Hugo for some reason (which, ew). Still one of the best fandoms I've ever been in, but this sucks. Especially since their art style and some of their headcanons are so cool!

Obviously Donella and Cyrus are the two main people Hugo worked with, basically being his family, but I feel like some other soldiers would be pretty good friends with Hugo and they alongside sometimes Cyrus (though he's got a bit more of an important job than regular soldiers) would teach Hugo things Donella couldn't if she was to busy, like how to cook or sew

Not saying Donella wouldn't do this, but I can imagine her being at least a little neglectful of Hugo, and some soldiers might take pity on him

I have no thoughts other than library depression now. I don't even know how a library can be depressed, but it is.

Hugo saying “he could be that boy but I’m not that girl” because he knows Varian deserves love but Hugo doesn’t. He knows he’s not worthy of Varian’s soft smiles and gentle touches because he’s so fucked up and just can’t be that person for him no matter how much he wishes he could be

And “there’s a girl I know, he loves her so, but I’m not that girl” is Hugo thinking Varian doesn’t love him, but the carefully curated version of himself he’s put together for the sake of the mission (not knowing that Varian sees past all that bs and that he does in fact have feelings for the real Hugo)
