I was a special ability extra in a TV show last summer (that i think is streaming now on Disney Plus) and even though I got paid a lot, I felt so bad for everyone working those really long hours, and it seemed so stressful all the time!
After I got my costume, had my hair and makeup done, and got all ready and on the set, (which was outside on a farm but made to look like a camp if thats a hint) people were passing out those things that keep your hands warm, because it was so early in the morning and i think it just rained.
Then, later, after a few hours, the sun came out and people had to pass around water bottles or cups of water, and since it was late June it was really hot!
But yeah crafts services was good, on the first day I sustained myself on PBJ sandwiches and mac n' cheese, and the second day I had some amazing beans and rice, and when it rained I had hot chocolate.
All in all, amazing experience, but I'm still surprised that it took that much effort and people for just those two or three scenes that I was being an extra for.
I think it should take longer to make tv shows and movies. I think shooting days should be shorter. I think AD's lives should be longer. I think we shouldn't have to be in a goddamn rush all the time. I think we should have the time it takes to make good art. I think fans should wait even longer than they do and be happy that everyone who made the art is getting full nights of sleep.
in my first year doing high school theatre i tried to use a fog machine (cuz my dad owns one and i knew how to use it) but as soon as it entered the theatre it S T O P P E D W O R K I N G and so we had to cut it :(
Technician: Why are you so concerned about the haze machine?
Production Manager: Because on the last show, we had to… uh…
Lighting Designer: Wank off the haze machine live on stage mid-show to make it put out any fog.
Technician: Well that’s the first time I’ve ever heard someone say those words in that order.

Saw a seagull and a crow sharing the leftovers of a McDonalds bag. They weren't fighting or anything.
A while later, more crows came and the first crow had to leave, but it returned shortly later. (I don't care if it was a different crow, let me believe)
I don't know what happened with them, but I hope that they have a lovely time looking for leftovers the pesky humans drop everywhere.
im laughing so much this is great
I saw this on Facebook and I really did make a good faith effort to find the post to reblog, but I failed and I just have this picture. But that’s not the point. The point is…
This is a Joe/Nicky spy AU and I need it right now. (Nicky, of course, is the Michelin critic. Joe is the actual spy.) @raedear when I think “spy AU” I think of you. Are you open to bribes? Abject pleading? How do I make this happen?
