Something I want to happen in the DCEU

Arkham Asylum’s infamous hallway of Batman rouges from Batman TAS.

There’s a crawl shot of the hallway and several different camera angles have you get to see who’s in the cells without actually telling you but you’re supposed know by several hints.

The bars or the wall of glass has several things in that hint who occupys each cell.

-A silloute of a coin flipping in the air along with the sound of it landing and slight growling.

-Several green question marks written on the walls and several riddles followed by incoherent mumbling.

-A potted plant, looking Alive and healthy on a small shelf near a bed.

-A top of someone’s hair, which is brown obscured by the cell’s bars or the camera not panning down(for those who prefer the wall of glass) followed by the sound of a page turning in a book.

-A shot of a padded cell with someone in a straight jacket, rocking back and forth. The person’s feet has tally marks on it.

-A glass cell door that lacks airholes. Loud slurping and gurgling noises come from it. The camera isn’t panning down so all you hear is the liquid noises and a shout of “I gotta prepare for my next role.”

-A cell that has sticky notes of the days of the year all over the walls.

-A top hat with a ribbon around it, with a playing card tucked in the ribbon resting on the bed. Followed by mumblings of a white rabbit and finding someone named Alice.

-A cell that’s relatively normal. But there’s a scalpel covered in blood on the bed’s pillow.

-A cell that’s different from the rest in color. The cell is blue, cold blue with several tubes flowing air into it.

-A cell that's​ completely empty. But it has several words written in some sort of purple crayon that say “HAHA” on the walls.

and maybe if the desire strikes you some tidbits on tetchy would be sweet

the best of boys, the worst of boys

1. he comes from an extremely screwed-up gothic Old Money family in England, with a family tree rife with (a) murder and questionable shit and (b) loads of that sweet hereditary insanity. the ancestors that didn’t die in asylums usually died in like, duels and Mysterious Circumstances. so he’s always… kind of anticipated his life was going to be colorfully awful somehow, it was just a matter of when and how

2. he inherited the family business(es) after his father died (Mysteriously) but handed them over to his sister and moved to America after the stress made him have a severe mental breakdown; plus the tutor who actually raised him died around that time (Mysteriously). he had like, no plan for what to do next but Gotham seemed like a good place to be, for some reason

3. Bruce first met him when Jervis just kind of wandered in the door at WayneTech with a disturbingly futuristic piece of tech he invented and was like ‘so are you guys interested in this’

4. despite the stuff he came up with being groundbreaking enough that WT gave him basically anything he asked for any tolerated him acting extremely odd, Jervis really hated his job. part of it was his coworkers, who he very much didn’t get along with, and part of it was that he just… doesn’t like doing what anyone tells him to do, ever. the only thing he liked was that they’d give him money and materials without too many questions after a while. 

5. All the Rogues had colorful first trials, but Jervis’s was a real standout for media attention. Not only did he debut around the time people were really starting to see the Rogues as all part of a movement that wasn’t going to fade away, he had a terrifying gimmick (fear gas and JV affect your body, but he could control minds), a sensational story that nobody could agree on the details of, and he kept on interrupting the proceedings to try and explain his perspective on things, which included such statements as ‘free will doesn’t actually exist’ and ‘actually, God isn’t real’, etc.

6. ‘fell in love’ is not the right term (seeing as Earth 451 Jervis is aromantic) but the moment he forgot his office key at home and his secretary of 2 days responded by pulling some pins out of her bag and picking the lock for him was the moment when Jervis both learned Alice Pleasance’s name and became Very Interested in her

7. He wants to take Batman’s cowl, after a while, for one main reason: Batman keeps taking his hats. look, the Bat can keep his creepy… trophy room, or lair, or wherever he keeps the items he keeps dragging off, Jervis doesn’t care, and Jervis wouldn’t even mind that much if Batman had just taken his first hat, but the damn Bat must have at least seven of them by now and they don’t grow on trees. no man could suffer this and not retaliate 

8. he has tattoos on his upper arms and back (acquired during the ‘I’m going to make all the bad decisions I couldn’t make in my teen years’ phase he had after his father’s death) which very few people are aware of, since he doesn’t like showing any more skin than strictly necessary. 

9. A lot of people tend to get misled by the fact that he’s shortish and dresses fancy and uses tech a lot, and assume he must be easy to overpower. One of those people was Batman, in their very first encounter. It did not happen again. He’s far stronger than most people expect, and was one of the few Rogues actually taught (instead of picking it up out of necessity) how to fight.

10. He went to an actual school for a couple years as a teenager, before he and his sister were both kicked out (long story) and put back into tutoring. During that time, he got really into theater, and even tho he never had much chance to perform the way he taught himself to speak and move onstage influenced him subtly for years, and more obviously shaped his Hatter persona. He tends to talk and move, as the Hatter, as if he’s in a play; staring off to where an audience would be, selecting and enunciating his words so they sound like rehearsed lines. It freaks a lot of people out. 

Yeah I definitely wished they had gone about a few things differently. Like why not have Harvey Dent, Thomas Elliot, and Roman Sionis hang out with Bruce?

Imagine watching as Roman begans making passive aggressive comments to Bruce and erodes their "friendship", after all his parents are dead, who's his parents going to kiss up to now? Bruce going through his trauma only for one night his best friend Elloit comes rushing through the door talking about how "they're the same now" with a smile on his face. Imagine Elloit having to go to therapy the doctor being Mr.Crane. Or Bruce noticing how withdrawn Harvey's gotten and noticing the Bruises. It'd be so interesting seeing the dynamic with his friends.

While this is happening we can watch Gordon deal with Maxie Zeus, Killer Moth, a younger Scarface, and of course the crime families. While Zeus and Moth are not considered real threats with our "modern" rogues gallery they would be in a younger Gotham who has never had any cases like these before.

We could watch as Killer Crocs mocked in a circus or being abused by his Aunt but nobody being brave enough to stop it. We could still have Selina Kyle as she fits perfectly in, same with Cobblepot.

Gotham could be so much more if they either followed more of the comics or had a few extra ideas (make new characters based on the old or taking forgotten characters and putting them in. (CoughElizebethKaneCough)

Gotham could be so much better in my opinion, but I guess we'll just wait and see what happens.

tbh? gotham could’ve been so SO much better if they hadn’t tried to introduce literally all the BIG rogues that kinda….require batman being around first to exist

like penguin was a good choice for ONE big rogue and tbh? they should’ve kept it just him as the main rogue u see and just gone with more of the c and d list villains since there’s not much there character wise and they could’ve done what they did with zsasz and improved them instead of yknow….completely destroying everything good about the characters in the first place just to fit the narrative of the story (COUGHEDWARDCOUGH) 

and like cmon? it couldve been so fucking good to have the likes of calendar man and shit running around doing their thing being gordon’s villains before bruce becomes batman and then the rest of the rogues start showing up

Jervis is silent, staring at the notecard blankly. His lips twitch in a smile, then a frown, then his lips thinned. He took a deep breath, before looking up, his eyes sad - but his smile soft. “Alice Tetch… Alice Tetch is the one person I would choose. Not Johnathan, not my parents, but Alice.”

“Yes. Every year I go to Swindon, England and Point Pleasant, West Virgina. My hometown, and where my best friend lives. In Swindon, I go to one of the gay bars I used to work at do I could buy Alice, and myself food when father wasn’t the most sober… The drag queens and owners supported and listened like a second family should. They helped me understand what I was trying to suppress for so long, and made me realize that it was a thing to embrace. West Virgina, however, was the place where I was going through a dark time. I don’t know if I would still be here without them.”

“Hatter taking too much control, running out of prescriptions, remembering terrible things that are always in the back of my mind, and losing my sense of reality. Basically, losing things, or getting too much of them.”

Do you have sleep/dream/nightmare headcannons for Jervis?

Jervis sleep headcanons

- Goes to bed at 9:30pm, wakes up at 6:00am

- An insufferable morning person.

- wears Ebenezer Scrooge pajamas.

- Sleeps on his left side and has very soft snores.

- His dreams are mainly tea parties

- The guests and location varies but it’s always some sort of social event.

- Nightmares are where it get fucked up.

- He has a recurring nightmare where he’s in solitary confinement in Arkham and the walls close in and suffocate him.

- Another one where he’s trapped in a grey cubicle and tries to climb out but then his father fucking appears out of nowhere and drags him back down.

- Theres one where all his friends yell at him and kick him.

- And then there’s this weird one where he’s getting married but the ceremony never starts and he never sees who he’s marrying. It’s just a bunch of people waiting around and then he wakes up confused.

- He’s pretty sure the wedding one is his subconscious bemoaning the fact he’s single. 

- He’s not going to think about the actual nightmares.
