is there famous hocky polayor
Just so we’re clear
supporting Brian’s right to do whatever he wants in his career and understanding that he’s still going to continue making delightfully weird content
and
being sad that we’re not gonna get more of the specific weird content he produces on polygon and/or being unsettled by the change in general
aren’t contradictory, and
Polygon is a website with 5 other video producers who are still around doing their best to produce excellent content, and a lot of Brian’s content wouldn’t have been possible without them either
and
Polygon as a website has been severely under-utilising these other video producers and has been producing fewer and fewer of the kinds of video series the fanbase fell in love with, and have been leaning more heavily on Brian-led content, such that they’re going to have to make some significant changes if they’re going to maintain their popularity
aren’t mutually exclusive opinions either

videos that changed me as a person
If you’re bored during confinement and desperately looking for something fun to watch, I highly recommend the Unraveled series by Brian David Gilbert. The premise if that a very dapper gentleman decides to delve into video game lore in absurd detail to answer questions about them nobody asked as thoroughly as possible, and it’s hilarious.
He also occasionally strays a bit from this premise (like cooking and testing every recipe form Breath of the Wild, creating the perfect Pokérap or improving his own apartment thanks to the Sims) but the important thing is, he always puts a ludicrous amount of research into things no-one should care about, and makes you really care about it.
Here’s the first video, there should be a playlist for the full show on the YouTube page:
And if you don’t wanna watch the whole thing (but you’d be doing yourself a disservice), I have a few recommendations for what I’d consider “must watch”-es:
- Solving the Zelda Timeline in 15 Minutes (the first video and one that gives you a great idea of what to expect);
- Understanding Kingdom Hearts (and every other story);
- How to make a perfect E3 press conference (or drinking game);
- How to tell apart all 596 Fire Emblem characters (first one I saw and one of the funniest IMO. And I say that as someone who hardly knows anything about Fire Emblem);
- I used The Sims to perfect my apartment (I especially love that this one has a very positive morale to it);
- Waluigi, Unraveled.
Hope that’ll help at least brighten your day for some of you. Have fun and stay safe!
they go on a road trip, and burger films vang0 and dasha’s reactions to various things. trees, for instance. fields of real grass, not just artificial. dasha pretends she is very unbothered and that she’s seen all of these things a million times before but her attempts to climb trees in high heels prove she is lying.
burger has to try and catch her and the rest of the video is a screen full of grass (where he’d dropped the phone,) a loud “ooOMPH,” and a poor attempt at an unruffled “see? I can climb a tree,” with some 2045-era country music playing in the background
lately i’ve been thinking about the cybergang having a shared tik tok account and it’s just the best thing to think about when i’m sad
