A bar of anti-soap.
Sculpey, acrylics, wooden block 2017
I had the idea of a fleshy, veiny, pimple-covered block of ‘soap’ as the antithesis of soap used for cleaning. I wanted something that would make you feel uncomfortable to rub on your body. I was really happy with how the veins turned out. They really look like they go deep into the piece.
This is really fun to bring to parties and leave in the bathroom. :)
Chibi Predator digital model kit by the amazing Willy Kao. Painted by me using enamel paints.
I had a lot of fun painting this. The details and quality of this figure are truly amazing! It is solid resin giving it a nice, solid little heft. I used tamiya translucent red mixed with smoke to get the blood on the skull and blades. I am very happy with how it turned out. It even has a natural gloss to it, making it look like a nice wet, freshly skinned look.
Figure is available through Kao’s Etsy shop: Digitalmodelkit
Work in progress on a new minor monstrosity specimen.
Trying with this one to get a translucent look to the stomach so you can see the guts through the flesh.
“Kin”
Two gremlin fetuses painted by me. The first is a mold of the gremlin fetus, or ‘bullet ball’ that was used on screen in Gremlins 2. I then used this as a base and sculpted stripe on top of it, smoothing out the texture of his skin, adding hair and changing the facial horns and expression.

Isn’t it great when ideas for art come to you in dreams? Last night I had a dream I had found the Devil’s dice. They are six-sided cubes, but made from flesh. The number dots were made of eyes, anus, nostrils and teeth. They were somehow alive! I am in the process of sculpting some now...
Under my bed and in my mind, early morning is a strange time to find.
