I think it's one of those "a mute's vow of silence" sort of things. As far as catholic canon is concerned, a man can't be horny unless he's got functioning balls, and it doesn't count as practicing celibacy if you're not even horny to begin with. "I don't think we are even in this one" Usopp would pull himself back, awkwardly stepping further from his crew mate - trying to laugh it off.

And Usopp getting sad every time Sanji threw himself in the arms of another unwilling woman. At first he had perhaps secondhand embarrassment, maybe pity or jealous of his boldness. In any case, he wouldn't like thinking about it, finding it would be best if he just distanced himself from Sanji all together.
