My headcanon is that Nathens family is very complicated

Not for any bad reasons

Its just really mixed

So with that being said heres why:

First up, he's got 2 dads and a mom -

His bio dad, Yuval, who his mother had him amd his oldest sister, Tillie, with before divorcing him. He writes children's books and now lives with his girlfriend Amilia and her son Allie. Nathen, Tilly and their adopted brother see him as an uncle because he was never really a dad to them. He's 54

His bio mom, Hilla, who works as a docter, she's 53 and she's jewish which ties into my prior post about how i hc Nathan as jewish.

And his step-dad, Marc, who is a secretery at a law firm, he's 51. Him and Hilla adopted a son together.

Then theres his siblings -

Tillie, the eldest is 35 years old and works at a cranberry farm. She lives near the countryside with her girlfriend, Jolene (36, a vet), he boyfriend, Peter (34, an elementary teacher), and Jolene's twin kids, Jimmy and Jemma who are both 7

Tatsou, he's japanese and the adoptive older brother to Nathan, he's 29 and has a degree in plantology and medicine. During college he worked as a tattoo artist and he was actually the one who gave Nathan his first tattoo at 18, its on his right shoulder blade, a feather with the initials of all his family members and his childhood dog, owen, who passed the week before at 15. After that he worked as a chiropractor/massues before he moved to an island that i made up for my heartstopper AU that also applies to the AU that this exists in, Zoria, which is (according to my AU) a half hour ferry ride from the nearst british shore, the entire island is a nature reserve and educational resort that uses the help of locals to teach history and preserve nature, Tatsou's job is simple, he takes care of the greenhouse and teaches tour groups about native plants and extinc native plants. This was how he met Juwon, his fience, an african american man who specializes in aquatics and marine biology who is one of the many guides for the tour groups. (They were both inspired by tatsuo and juwon from dolightful's youtube channel, i just cant not cross the fandoms and make up backstories for them, i love them too much!!)

Then theres the grandparents:

Nona, a 70ish yearold korean woman, adopted Nathan's mom when she was 2, she raised her as a single mother for 10 years before dating and marrying an italian man named Gustavo, who is currently in his mid 70's. They both worked as teachers which what inspired Nathen to become one

And lastly there is the traditions:

• if any family member is sick the others, apon being notified, must send them ingridients for nona's soup in express shipping and the sick person must send them a photo of the finished soup to show that they are okay

• a tattoo is family bonding, if Tillie, Tatsuo or Nathen want to get a tattoo both their siblings will come with, this isnt optional

• once every 2 months they all come over to Hilla and Marc's house to watch a move and eat a massive bowl of boba pearls, fruits, honey and milk mixed together (i forgot what its called) and then watch movies in pijamas

• every morning you have to send the color of your shirt in the family group chat and if another person is wearing the same color shirt as you you have to facetime them, no exceptions

Thats it for now, i just really wanted to write all of this before i forgot

Charlie is a taco

He falls apart cpnstently but we still love him

Nick is a bean

He has anxiety, the separation kind

Charlue will pack bond with anything and anyone. He has a group of stray cats he'd die for and they treat him like a brother, he feeds them constently and they love him so much they follow him into allies, walk him to the bus stop and from it and once pounced and attacked a grown ass adult man with a g*n who was trying to rob him. Charlie is well aquanted with a singular crow in his schoolground, this crow has introduced charlie to all his friends, charlie feeds them and talks to them about his problems, they nearly pecked out a homophobic kid's eyes for making charlie cry. One time charlie went to the store and saw a lumpy lemon, later, nick drove near that store with charlie in the car and he started crying because he wanted to go back and buy the lemon bc he thought no one would buy it

Her wavy, cocolate brown hair was in a half up half down style, Charlie never understood why she put so much effort into keeping it wavy since it was naturally straight but from what she told him it was probebly in an attempt to look more like her adoptive father, the two were totally diffrent in apearence, he had white hair, pale skin and cold red eyes but her hair was a dark, chocolaty brown, her eyes were a deep hazel and her skin was brown like the fur of a brown baer, she wanted to look like her dad but her hair was the only thing she could make look like him so she changed it to match him. 'She looks nice today' Charlie thought, he was right, she was wearing her favorite outfit, a black tanktop with a dark camo jachet and matching pants, she also wore combat boots, adding some hight to her already tall stature, her arrows were in her basket that was straped to her back and her jacket was way off her shoulders showing off her lupa's pack tattoo, a black bow and arrow, stretched and ready to be shot, right on her right upper arm, she was smiling, and her eyes seemed to gleem with excitment ''you'll see him soon enough, the family gathering is next week'' she said as she went to hug him, he huged her back.
