*cough* just for the record I totally called Ghazan/Ming Hua *cough*
It’s out!
I illustrated for Disney’s MULAN book “Mulan’s Lunar New Year”, (you can see the book here!) a children’s book about little Mulan spending Lunar New Year with her family.
It’s my first book and I want to share some illustrations :D [*will also have this book at my table at CTNx 2018 this year on display at T55!]
Looking back, there are lots that I want to improve on the crafting of my drawings for this book, but overall… I’m really glad I get to illustrate and to remember the joy and excitement I had celebrating Lunar New Years and lighting fireworks with my parents as a kid.
It was pretty magical.
I could even learn how to love, like you Spinel + Love Like You
New ship: Ghazan and Ming-Hua. The way she looked away after Bolin’s 3 predictions and Ghazan’s resulting look of surprise suggests that there definitely is an unspoken attraction between them. Maybe Ming-Hua feels inadequate, being armless, and thinks Ghazan won’t love such a person.
So this is a halloween oneshot that involves Mingzan. There you go Mingzan shippers.
Ghazan is also super easy for me to write. I don’t know why.
BK: As one of the primary gatekeepers of what is canon in the Avatarverse, I have to make it clear that Ming-Hua was born without arms, due to a congenital disorder. This is a cool alternate interpretation by Eugene, though!
JDS: If the story did not make you somewhat sympathetic to Zaheer and his gang, then maybe this image, which captures them in an earlier time, before life’s trials and tribulations have hardened them, will.
