So I downloaded Star Wars Heroes and I’m gonna be honest. The only reason I got it was to get Ashoka, Rex, Fives, Echo and Cody. I’m close to Ashoka and I’ve already gotten Fives. Also Fives has a cute little ability that works with Echo and I love it.
Haha I am totally not matching the Montgomery Ricky with Clone Wars related stuff. Pftttt- what I totally am not.
I’m watching the Brain Invaders episode and my dad literally just said “this is good training for when the clones ya know” and I was like “stop”
So true so true pop off. You have put exactly how I feel on the treatment towards Yukio into words. And to add on with a little bit to Yukio and Rin’s interactions, and how I view them, Yukio really truly cares for his brother. And it’s seen a lot through out the manga and anime, people just choose to ignore it and look at the harshness of it.
Yukio yelling at Rin because of a mission? Yukio just being an ass then? No. He truly is scared that one day his brothers gonna do something stupid and because of that action Rin will be executed. But the only way Yukio knows how to show it is through yelling and arguing. As said in the above post, Yukio doesn’t care about his own life, he really only cares about Rin’s.
And I do want it add on I love Rin, he’s a great guy, but some of his decisions aren’t always the best. He’s a selfless character which is almost the opposite of Yukio in a sense. The way I view it is that Yukio is selfish of Rin’s life, while Rin himself is selfless towards it to an extent. (Of course Rin doesn’t outright want to die but he doesn’t care about how his positive actions could cause it [not saying it’s bad I’m just stating a fact in a neutral kind of tone]). And you can actually see this in the Blue Exorcist movie, specifically the opening scene with the train.
I think if people paid more attention to the story and depth of each character in Blue Exorcist, they’d might see that Yukio isn’t such a horrible person. And I’m ngl I’m very subjective towards Yukio because I like him a lot. He’s a fleshed out character with relatable feelings and flaws. And I honestly don’t understand some of the hate sent his way. (Of course there were a couple moments where I end up signing and going “Yukio why?” But I still don’t see them as a huge reason to hate him that much).
Also another thing, as I keep adding more and more stuff, Yukio is not an adult. He’s a teenager. Just like Rin. And I feel that people forget that a lot. Yukio is still developing as a person and into an adult. And this fact is even referenced in the manga.
Honestly in the end, Yukio to me is just a really relatable character and not someone who deserves all this hate. Some of the comments I’ve seen about him make me very concerned as a human being. Because the world isn’t black and white, but people tend to view Blue Exorcist with that lens. And so grey characters, such as Yukio, will either get hated on or overlooked, like Shima, for a character who can generally be seen as the good guy, Rin.
I could honestly go on and on about Yukio and how deep his character is, so I’m gonna stop myself here and leave it at that. Also like the post above please don’t respond with unnecessary hate (if you have a genuine comment or question that’s fine)
how do you feel about yukio? most bonrin seem to hate him?
Sorry this one took me a while to answer. Had to get my thoughts straight. So, without further ado:
*gets ready to step on a lot of toes*
Let me start by saying this blog and blogger supports Yukio. You can dislike any character you want, of course, but I won't respond to hate on him. Poor guy gets a lot of that, and I am extremely grateful he isn't an actual person, because there is no way Yukio would survive all the hate and vitriol sent his way if he was an actual person. When you consider the hate he gets and the fact that he is one of the most self-loathing, depressed, and suicidal characters in the manga... it just breaks my heart.
Yukio is, in my opinion (which you're free to disagree with) an extremely well written character, and (again, in my opinion) a sympathetic one. He is one of the best portrayals of a depressed and suicidal character I've seen in manga/anime, and I am so hopeful for the next arc of the manga that he gets some healing from all of that. He's spent most of his life without the proper support he needed (I adore Shirou, but will never agree with the path he chose for Yukio, even if I understand why he did it) and with very little, if any, actual mental/emotional support. Rin wants to help him and love him, but because of the secrets and roles thrust upon them, that wasn't much of an option until very recently, and trusting someone with all of that -- especially if you're already severely depressed and self-loathing -- is not an easy thing to just start doing. If you've spent your life keeping things to yourself, you can't just turn that off.
Especially if one of the things you hate most about yourself is weakness.
In my opinion, a lot of the hate comes from people who have never really done a lot of looking at Yukio as a character. They just see him as someone who was mean to Rin (who in their opinion, never did/does anything wrong) without ever looking at what might have led him down that road.
(It also makes me worry about how they would respond to real life people with depression or suicidal tendencies, and hope desperately that they're more understanding and gentle.)
Yukio has also been a self-destructive character for a while now, and as tends to be the case with self-destructive characters, his destruction tends to spread around to others. (Sorry Rin) He's trying to make the world a better place by getting rid of the corruption around him, and unsurprisingly, it's not going well because this boy with all his self-loathing, also doesn't want to drag anyone else down with him, so he's typically a loner with his actions and plans. His own life isn't worth anything to him, so he's reckless with it and dangerous because of that.
(Which is where a lot of his conflict with Rin comes from. He just wants it to be over and Rin won't take 'leave me alone' as an answer. Neither is great at listening to the other.)
I like Yukio. I want him to find healing and to realize that he has friends he can trust in (I cannot describe how much I love the little meal the cram group shares after Rin temporarily burned Satan connection. I LOVE how much this manga is about friendship and healing together and 🥲)
At the end of the day, Yukio is a boy who is complicated and a lot of why I like him, and Blue Exorcist, is the complexity. They feel real. They don't always do the right thing, or even the logical thing. They make mistakes and they're messy characters. But Yukio still grabs Rin's arm to save him in a fight, and still tears up when his friends call him by his name and forgive him. Yukio loves penguins, comedy manga, and hates cooking. Yukio runs to his twin to eat lunch so he doesn't have to upset the girls in his class, has a million spare glasses, always refers to his twin (who is ostracized by their society) as niisan (never distancing their relation.) He accepted full responsibility for his twin when he was the younger one, and never questioned doing it even if it meant taking on horrible tasks. He's been able to see demons his entire life, and despite spending his childhood terrified of them, worked hard to become the youngest exorcist ever. He loves and hates, and he's a messy character, and I like him.
So, sorry for the word vomit xD That's my opinion on Yukio.
Ok I’m going like insane and maybe my mind made this up, but correct me if I’m wrong. Wasn’t there like an article posted a long time ago (before season 5 I believe) that like said Echo wasn’t dead?? Like confirmed that he wasn’t dead? Am I just going mental or??
So I read the Jedi path and here are key thoughts below:
- love the fact that it has a little paper on the back of the box with information and in bold it states LEGENDS
- Ahh they mentioned gray Jedi...... yep legends
- Obi-Wan called long ranged weapons ‘uncivilized’
- they have the yoda to Ahsoka lineage that respond to certain texts
- there is a whole section marked out and it’s pretty cool because it adds to the depth of the book
- Darth Sidious is also there and Luke
- Ahsoka mention clones :)
- honestly based on Dooku’s comments how did they not know he was turning to the dark side
- I am going to learn all the forms now
- Anakin being himself
- favorite comment is Ahsoka going “Skyguy has a heart?!”
Clone wars season 7 spoiler
Watching the deserter and crying over Jesse, Kix and Hardcase. My boys alive and then there’s Rex not being sad.
Philza Minecraft and Wilbur are the only ones in SBI that are canonically family and they are DEFINITELY an adult Father and Son.
It may be hard to really conceptualize a time in your life where the stuff that goes on between those two can happen.
But it does happen. Parents and children can be at odds with each other to the point of devastation, to the point where their actions and words go against everything the other believes in.
Phil entered the server and was immediately met with his severely mentally ill adult son about to destroy everything he cared about. Phil tried everything within his power to convince Wilbur not to press that button and Wilbur did it any way. Not to mention that after that Wilbur was suicidal, begging for his father to kill him on the spot, and Phil initially refused to do it before giving his son his last wish.
That moment is a character defining moment. Wilbur started the first government on the server and it broke him completely. Phil 100% blames the existence of that nation for breaking his son and, even if indirectly, causing his death.
Ghostbur is a completely different person than Wilbur, the same memories but in no way the same. With those events in mind the very very careful way Phil deals with Ghostbur makes sense, the man is sympathetic but distant. He is 10,000% still mourning and Ghostbur is a stranger.
The actions that L'Manburg took with Phil are even more harmful when taking these things into account. They were already living in the shadow of Wilbur's death but then they place Phil under house arrest with the intent to blackmail Phil's best friend and then execute Technoblade right in front of Philza's house.
L'Manburg already took one person he loved away from him, no way was Phil going to let it happen for a 3rd time.
So when Phil and Techno destroyed L'Manburg and Ghostbur's everything was unrecoverable, yeah it's sad. It's sad to see Ghostbur lose everything when he didn't take any action against them intentionally. But the destruction wasn't about that. It was revenge, and justice, and a message, and an attempt to stop anything else from happening like it did again. Ghostbur's tragedy was a very very unfortunate side effect. Which it shouldn't have to be. I don't think anyone is arguing the opposite, but to Phil, the man known as the Angel of Death, the man who will desperately protect what he has left, it's an acceptable loss.
Both Ghostbur and Philza are in the right here and they can't really say sorry or try to make things better because they are an adult father son duo with different perspectives and reasonings that make them both correct.
So miss me with the Phil is a bad dad BS, Wilbur is a grown up dead man and parents/kids can be on opposing sides in conflict and often are. This isn't a matter of their relationship, it's a matter of conflict and war and how every action has a consequence.
Thank you for coming to my tedtalk.
I was rewatching Clone Wars because I finally got my parents to sit down and watch it with me, by the way I am not ready for the downhill sadness at season 2, and I just like made a random connection. So you know these clones that we’ve heard about, they usually have a somewhat high rank, they get one episode at least but never over ten, and they end up dying. Why are they all red. Like Keeli, Thorn, Ponds, Fil.
Bruh I read the Ahsoka novel before season 7 I should’ve been more prepared for the ending. It’s literally in the Ahsoka novel wtf
Literally me just geeking out about Star Wars, mainly Clone Wars, F1, FE, Ao no exorcist, RvB, TKA (more LA version), and more. Header & Pfp: @definite_time on twt :)
