My favorite way I've seen fanfics be written is when they aren't written like books, they're transcripts for voice recordings and videos or they're collections Twitter threads and YouTube comments or they're fan forums and chat logs or they're news headlines or they're letters. Something about it not being a book makes me roll around in my bed and kick my feet
