Death

With my job I run into death often. Sometimes we’re in the same room and I don’t even know it. It spares my life. It could easily touch me and I could go, but instead it takes the elderly I care for and make sure they’re safe.

This is a place they come to die. But I do all I can for them to live. It’s a bit bittersweet thing. I cry when they all leave. And when death is in the building I tend to look over my shoulder often. But it lets me live one more day.

I’m no longer scared of death. Instead I welcome her and ask for her to at least be civil about it, don’t let them suffer. And she agrees. These souls die in their sleep with full stomachs and and warm blankets. We hate to see them go, it’s never easy for anyone, but we continue. Reminiscing their laughter, jokes, and warm smiles.

We are the last people they usually see. Families leave their elderly and never return until the day they pass. But until then I’m reading magazines, making puzzles, passing out meds, and making sure they stay clean. I love them all. I care for them with every inch in my soul, but I know they must go. It’s morbid and macabre. But it’s life. I can’t stop it.

Maybe this is what has brought out my spiritual side. I have this pull. When you’re in this field you just know most times when someone will pass. It’s an emotion. You feel death. Although religion is not a priority of mine, there’s something there. Energy. The subconscious. It’s there.

So I embrace this side. I accept the inevitable and hope it goes fast. When I first began this job dreams of death haunted me. Dead people under my bed, me sleeping next to them, them calling for my care. Now I have listened and don’t fear it. Death spares me this time, but one day it won’t. Instead of taking mrs. Barbara it may take me. And I doubt I’ll feel it coming. But as of now, I’m okay, I’m happy.

Death you are near me constantly and energy around me grows. Thanks, and I will see you one day. There’s no way for me to know but I have cared for your victims and have handed them over in the best condition I could. Give me some mercy when it’s my turn. For now I will transfer my energy to love and magic and let it consume me until the end of my times. A deal has been granted, but I shall forever live as love.

Witchcraft 101: Let's talk about cleansing, because no, it's not just sage

First and foremost, every single element has an ability to be used for cleansing and banishing.

Air: Used to literally "blow away" energy

Open your windows

Turn on a fan

Use your breath (there's a reason you sometimes snuff a candle and other times blow it out)

Water:

Running water over an object (make sure this object is safe to do that with, okay? Don't be like the raccoon with the cotton candy)

Ritual baths and showers

Washing/cleaning

Earth:

Salt (again, careful with where you put the salt, but still)

Plants can be used as protective barriers

Burying an object for a period of time before digging it back up and cleaning it off

Certain rocks and crystals

Fire:

To get the obvious out of the way - burning. This does not mean you should commit arson. This is more "burning photographs of past relationships" not "light your ex on fire"

Now, most common forms of cleansing do not use only a single element (especially fire, for obvious reasons). So here are some of the most common and easy ways to practice cleansing in a practical, everyday manner.

Smoke cleansing - combines air, fire, and earth. Practices by burning protective and banishing dried herbs, plants, incense, or wood.

Salt water - combines earth and water. Can be used in either ritual baths or on its own, spread near the borders of a space. But again, careful with where you put salt.

Crystal grid - combines earth and spirit. Create by placing protective crystals in each corner of a space.

Steam cleansing - combines air and water. Use essential oils if you so choose.

Ritual bath or shower - combines water, spirit, and if you want to add bath bombs, salt, or flower petals, earth.

Tea magic - combines water, earth, and (if you inhale the steam) air.

Literal cleaning rituals - combines spirit and any other elements you so choose. Do your laundry, clean your room, declutter what no longer serves you.

Catnip - Magical Uses

I did talk about Aquarius Rising women before!

💚 💚They are badass, uncompromising queens who independently do so much stuff. Much like Aries girls (they are leaders) but with more tact and dettachment. 💚 They have quirky, unusual, bold styles and clothing. Whatever their style is, they rock it and make sure it’s uniquely them. Like not two Aqua Rising girls have similar style. Each one is their own. 💚 They can be like a more open, people focused Scorpio. They have amazing research skills! 💚 They really seem to be into space, astronomy fun facts or space art?? 💚 Can be vegetarian/vegan or have a specific food diet. It usually corelates with their ethical view on certain subjects. Ask them and they will tell you about it. 💚 Much like sister Air sign Libra, they are big on fairness. 💚 High chance they smoke weed in order to alter consciousness or to combat nervous mental energy. They can be prone to anxiety, restlessness or being scatter minded. 💚 The ones to make digital art or be fond of fantasy characters, creatures, anime protagonists, fan fic characters, idols, certain members of hard rock/metal bands. 💚 Usually dislike mainstream artists, claim they are into underground/not very known artists and bands. 💚 Often they had at least one humanitarian life experience, like volunteering in a homeless shelter, giving out free meals, helping build houses or teach children abroad. 💚 I noticed some can be fashion conscious. But they would dress in trend of subcultures, fan bases, friend groups or underground musicians/bands they associate themselves with. 💚 Also they LOVE band T-shirts! 💚 Have probably been into hard rock/metal or EDM at least once at a certain point in their life. 💚 Probably been really emo too back in the 2003 (or still is)!
