After over decade of rock collecting, here are some of my favourites!
If anyone knows what kind of rocks they are, I'd love to know!! I'm really interested in whatever shaped the rocks in the first picture (Piddocks maybe from a quick search), and the colouration of the last one!

there's this element of ownership in vader's relationship with palpatine that really adds so much horror to rots for me. theres the "deal with the devil" aspect of it and people often discuss how ownership is cyclical for anakin but for me what makes it work so well is because it exists on so many levels that all coexist, you cant just boil it down to one layer. palpatine owns vader psychologically, because he is the only thing out there that vader is still capable of loving, he owns him personally because vader swore allegiance to him as his apprentice, he owns him as a state because vader is bound to the empire and the empire reserves the total control over the lives of its subject but my own humble opinion is that theyre wizards, it can and should go deeper than this. in the plagueis novel, plagueis encounters a rival apprentice called darth venamis that he fights, defeats and then keeps as a test subject (hes a fun guy) and ultimately because his meddling with death works best on force sensitive individuals, he manages to use him to figure out how to stop people from dying. once he does, kills venamis over and over again to polish that skill before finally letting him die. i know its a popular theory that palpatine sucked out padmes life force in rots to keep vader alive and i do love the dramatic irony of that but i dont think palpatine needed to even do that. its so much more grim. the thing keeping vader alive doesnt even need to be time stolen from his wife, the will of his boss is enough. theres sooo not enough delving into the mystic fuckery of it all because palpatine is not only an enthusiastic human rights violator, hes also an enthusiastic violator of all natural laws and thats a whole other layer to it because usually, the most that a person can do is harrass you in life. not palpatine tho, palpatine has the ability to harrass vader in death as well. the master apprentice contract was signed for an indeterminate amount of time, no ability to terminate and the "till death does us part" was scratched out because even death is sooo not parting this one. and i mean how normal can anyone be about a person who quite literally became your creator? replacing any other natural creator you might have had & rebuilding you around the singular purpose he has for you. like man, that just sucks. its not that vader owes palpatine his life. he doesnt owe it precisely because palpatine has already claimed it. and maybe it feels wrong to even exist because the force in gffa is self-correcting so any unnatural deviation would be under the constant pressure to erase itself but good thing that there is a guy who gets to sit above the force in the hierarchy and say "youre meant to be here because i say so and the purpose i am giving you is murder". essentially what im saying it, palpatine isnt just a person owning vader to vader, hes the only force of nature that doesnt violently recoil from his existence & it gives him the power to freely dictate everything what vader is
darling, will you saturate?
ANAKIN SKYWALKER Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) Dir. George Lucas
Clone Wars playing the imperial march every time Anakin is mildly inconvenienced will never not make me laugh.
