Every time my hooded eye-self looks at makeup techniques or inspo.
One does not simply burn toast without calling the toaster a dick.
Fat-shaming is harmful. Fat-shaming is counter-intuitive to the supposed intent of the shamer. Fat-shaming is wrong. It is not, however, "just like racism." Fat amounts can fluctuate. A thin person can once have been fat, and can become fat again. A fat person can once have been thin, and can become thin again. For some, this can happen because that's just what someone's body is inclined to do at certain times in their life, while others may find they are able to make changes through changes in diet and exercise; others still may do so through surgery. This does not necessarily mean that they SHOULD do these things - simply that it is possible. Race CANNOT fluctuate. A white person cannot have at one point been indigenous to the Americas. A native of Paraguay cannot in the future be native to Sweden. A white person will not ever know what it is to be a person of color. These things are both wrong; they are not the same.
"Pretty pretty rainbow!" -Me "YOU'RE a pretty pretty rainbow!" -My S.O.
“Look at all these inspirational posts. I could get started on my goals right now. I have books to learn from, and tools to practice. I have free time right now. Nothing’s stopping me.” *continues scrolling past the thought*
"I can't sleep. I feel like I should do something productive, but what?" *looks around at clothes-strewn room* "What could I possibly do in the wee hours?" *Walks past exercise gear to put another plate on the pile* "My only option is to fuck around on the computer."
Is there a word for "suspicious yet thorough enjoyment of compliments which causes intense self-consciousness?" There needs to be.
Okay, you know that smug gesture of breathing on your nails and rubbing them against the front of your shoulder? Is there already a word for that as a whole? I've never known, and decided five minutes ago to just call it "lapel buffing" unless someone knows a title that was previously known and widely accepted (relatively speaking).
Overlooked reasons for going to hell: Carrying on a conversation with someone after they have said goodbye (or other widely accepted sign-off term), as if you didn't hear them when you did. "Fixing" things about a person's appearance (bra strap, hair, etc) without asking. Answering the cellphone you didn't bother silencing in a library. Constantly putting other people's cups in the sink when they're not done using them.
