Jayce never actually saw any of viktor's attempts to fix himself (e.g. Viktor transmuting his leg) so I don't even know where he got the impression viktor was trying to fix his imperfections. The most he saw was viktor trying to cure himself of a terminal illness. I would say his resilience and determination to take agency over his own failing body is much more part of his character than his lung cancer

The thing about modern mascot/cartoon animal design is you could never create another scooby doo. They would tell you to smooth him out and give him bigger eyes and simplify his design so he's easier to turn into a marketable plushie

My problem with star trek species redesigns is people always redesign the wrong ones. Ferengi? Cardassians? Vorta? Some of the most interesting aliens in the show and for some reason I keep seeing redesigns of them. You know who really needs a redesign? Betazoids and El-Aurians. Truly the most boring alien designs in all of Trek. Trill and Bajorans too, but I have seen a few redesigns of them, though I always wanna see more. Give me more redesigned Betazoids and El-Aurians!
