Simulation Is Not Free

I don’t know why in the Sims 4 so many things are free. The careers make tons of money but what do my sims need to buy to that really costs them money besides their houses, certain services, and build/buy modes? 

Thankfully LittleMissSam made the entrance fee mod and SimRealist bills exists, thank goodness, but that doesn’t cover certain other situations. This is an attempt to reconcile that for a few instances. If you think of others, let me know!

Daycare

What is with this one? Daycare, free? Pfft! Now, when your Sim’s little one goes to daycare, it will now extract $100 from their household funds. 

After School Activities

A $200 activity fee is exacted from your household funds when your child joins Drama Club or Scouts. 

City Living Invites 

Oh, you want me to go with you to the circus? A concert? The opera?! Great. That costs money. Here’s my share. Each of these activities will cost $75.

Giving Birth at Hospital 

Yes. This costs money. Giving birth now costs as much as adoption. $1,000.

Going on Vacation 

Yes, I know you pay for your accommodations. You should also have to pay for your travel. Call it gas or airplane fare. It now costs a $100/person to travel to vacation destinations.

excitement and intrigue aside about the idea of social media, she gets super happy and proud to hear about how mc is being appreciated for how incredible they are

would ask about the process of how they got so big, what they do for photos, if it's tiring, etc. at the end she just has a newfound appreciation for them and ? who they are ? she thinks it's amazing that they're doing something they love and succeeding to such an extent

"you've always been especially stunning, haven't you?"

if they go out shopping, the fact that mc models is always in the back of her head. she asks if they see anything that they would wear for a photoshoot, or if they'd like to try things on while modeling them for her . she watches as they playfully strike some poses with a huge smile on her face

she hears about how much money they make (i think they'd have to like, compare currencies by saying how much they could buy of something) and her jaw drops . worries a little about how they're missing out on it all and needs some reassurance that their job as a model doesn't compare (To Anisa. wink. nudge. pushes them into her until they hug and kiss)

buys any magazines that they're featured in. it's a collection that she keeps safe even if mc teases her about it

when they're at a shoot she makes sure to text and remind them to drink water and take care of themself. they send a selfie doing a thumbs up and she sends one back with a text that says "you look incredible💗💗 :))"

sometimes they bring anisa along to stand on the side because she gets them to genuinely smile/laugh even if they're having a tough day . also anisa hugs after a shoot are sooo [heart explodes]

oh . Oh. well. that makes sense i mean look at them

he needs some time to wrap his head around the fact that their face has been,, seen around the World. (felix hears them say 20k followers and chokes on his tea while he tries to process how big a room would have to be to hold that many people)

his mind starts reeling because you're telling me they're a model yet they chose to be with Him? [turns into a puddle of goo]

mc tries to describe different photoshoots they've done and mimics some of the usual poses they do. felix watches in awe because it comes to them so naturally and they look so nice he wishes he could see the actual photos :(

it's okay though because even if he doesn't have photos, the original model is right here. who needs photos when he can just watch them exist and look incredible And kiss them bro

they tell him that he's so pretty he could be a model himself and he starts blushing . "unfortunately, i have to disagree" "who's the actual model here?" "...." i refuse to think about model!felix because i'll pass out

he visits them at work and brings food :] anyone who regularly works with mc knows felix at least a little (and appreciates when he brings extra for them)

i already hc felix as someone who doesn't really have an online presence but he does post little bts photos of them in their dressing room or posing sometimes .

felix is on their account sometimes but it's like,, faceless posts. there's one (1) post that he's in because it was almost their and he caved at their pout. everyone started losing their minds so he couldn't check the comments. (mc only agrees and pins comments that call him pretty. felix has his face smushed into a pillow beside them.)

honestly he's probably already made jokes at some point of them becoming famous for their looks. mc gives him a look, "you know, i already am sort of popular on earth. i'm actually a model." sage just. stares for a second

they tell him that thousands of people follow them and he gapes. thousands of people knowing who you are? a little mind-blowing. baffling. sounds fake but if anyone could achieve that Of Course it'd be them

definitely complains because he can't see any of their photos or work they've done, and they don't exactly have the means necessary in astraea to recreate them. so he just...takes them shopping and asks them to do some poses to,, Experience It.

sage doing that thing with your fingers ,, like the two L's that form a rectangle and you look through as if it were a camera . and he looks and he's like yeah i see it i could be your,, "photograph-er". sage i love u. no you couldn't baby

he boasts about them so much. they post a photo and he's sharing it on his story like holy shit look at my partner are you looking are you seeing MY partner they are with ME i am their BOYFRIEND,

don't check their comment sections . all the pinned comments are sage btw. (their(my) favourite is the one where he pretended to be a sugar daddy bot . "Hey Baby, You Are The Most Stunning Person I've Ever Seen. You Deserve The World. I'm Willing To Send $500 If You DM Me❤️")

he most definitely has a folder of his favourite photoshoots. and a separate one for selfies/unused photos that only he's been sent like some private treasure

You Pose for Money? you get free things and money because you're That attractive? he continues to be intrigued/shocked by mc and earth

rime guesses that's how they easily talk about clothes and proportions and different styles ,, or why they seemed to know about connections/networking ,, he's connecting the dots.

mc Ever says anything about their appearance looking anything less than great and he's reminding them that "people pay for your face to be on their things, sweetheart."

mc ends up explaining a lot of how their job works and modelling in general. now they talk about stuff like the M3 and how they could change/spice their outfits up. rime asking what kind of clothes each of them would wear on earth as a fun little game. "felix could be a good runway model, i think." "didn't you say those are usually tall" "what in the world are you two talking about"

mc says something about him being a good model (look at his regular outfit come on) and he raises an eyebrow before sending a smirk their way, "would you model with me then? i think we'd be a sight together, don't you agree?"

you know these two are a power couple. you know every time he shows up on their account people are asking when he's going to model with them for a photoshoot

(the day photos are released of them dressed up in aesthetics from fucking,, ethereal beings to black victorian outfits is the day they blow up and everyone who's been waiting actually just explodes)

takes photos of them for instagram sometimes because he knows their angles/vibes second to no one (except mc themself). he's the one who feeds their fans the lq icon pics everyone becomes obsessed with
