Why does Antoine speaks like that, what's wrong with him
I almost completely agree with this, however I think Jon could, in fact, survive nightvale. I think that it also depends on WHEN he would have been transported there (for whatever reason) any time after atound season two he starts to actually go out and get statements, nightvale is quite literally the perfect place for Jonathan sims to be. It’s like an endless buffet of people just casually talking about the horrors that be, and Jonathan if swapped with Cecil and therefore with his job, gets paid to talk about it. That’s his whole thing. He gets fed, and gets to document everything that happens. Nightvale would be Jonathan sim’s paradise. If you got him at the beginning of season one or even before he’d be fucked for sure.
OKAY I AM TALKING NOW
I have seen “Jon could not survive Welcome to Night Vale but Cecil could survive TMA” and yeah. Sure. But also no I don’t think so
spoilers for some of WTNV and TMA
it’s not about curiosity, it’s where the main power or fear comes from
Cecil thrives on knowing someone, all of Night Vale, is listening. He’s a radio host. You don’t host radio expecting nobody to hear.
The statements up until the end of s4 and i to s5 weren’t meant to be heard, that wasn’t why Jon (and the others) recorded them. Not originally. Sure, they fed the Watcher yada yada, but that wasn’t the intent until Jon started -actively seeking out statements-. The reading them out loud in season five, searching for information, Asking people for their stories. It was for his curiosity. And yes, he did record stuff so he wouldn’t “become another goddamn mystery” but he never expected anyone to listen to them. Very rarely does anyone plan to die in some obscure way. The tapes were a backup plan, a ‘just in case’. Had all been normal and all gone well, the tapes he made would have ended in a drawer somewhere.
So now we swap it. Jon is in the Night Vale radio station. He doesn’t know what to do, he certainly can’t do his job in the middle of the desert in a town in america but Boy, there sure are weird things happening. So he goes out, he fights the weird stuff, and it kills him, sending him to obscurity just as he feared.
But Cecil? He’s fucked. The Glow Cloud and the angels and Koshekh and his weird little home town have NOTHING on the fears. And worst of all, nobody is listening. They can’t call in, they can’t message him online, he can’t talk to his town about it. That’s his Whole Thing. That would drive him mad. Even as far as I am maybe 60 episodes in, I’ve heard younger him dreaming of being on the radio, dreaming of being heard. So suddenly, when all he has is a tape recorder and a statement and some weird stuff to investigate, it would slowly drive him to the brink of his sanity knowing nobody is listening. Nobody cares. Not the Faceless old Woman, not the man in the tan jacket, not even Steve Carlsberg, nobody tangible that he knows about is listening. Let’s be honest, even the Eye probably wouldn’t be that interested in him, he’s not even made for reading the statements.
anyways that’s my TED talk feel free to criticize this or add on

Alice deciding to go meet up with and investigate a heavily Stranger coded external in the same episode that she says “Piss off, Boss” has me wanting to rip my hair out in clumps
