is this based on show canon?

It is !! However if someone would like to incorporate plots from the book for their muse we would certainly be open to it depending which it is.

do fcs have to be from the show?

Nope ! All we ask is to make sure the ethnicities match the muses that are already taken. For instance, our Theon and Maron Greyjoy are both of Thai ethnicity so any remaining Greyjoys would need to be Thai as well.
