Despite the fancy survey, changes to the UI and TOS reveal we’re getting the service in the future whether we want it or not. Obviously, Post+ is a terrible idea that is trying to bank revenue on user content. Unlike patreon or onlyfans, tumblr’s primary focus is on FAN content. The legality of this is NOT in the users favor and as the new tumblr TOS states, said users will be entirely liable for whatever legal matters arise.

The lock of the door clicked open as Leon walked into his dark apartment. Staring down the hallway as he shut and relocked the multiple locks on the door, the agent saw a blanket covered lump on the couch that faced the tv. Leon placed his keys on the key hook, took off his shoes, then walked over to the couch, sitting down beside the lump, "Have you been sitting here since I left this morning, Dearest?", he reached out his arm, going to pull the blanket off of their head, only for you to flinch away, not wanting to be touch. He sighed as he stood up, not wanted to fight his darling after a long day at the office.

Leon stood in the lit up kitchen, looking in the cabinet and fridge, "Is there anything you want for dinner, (Name)?", knowing he wasn’t going to get a response, the agent shut the door then turned around. Only to find his Dearest, standing in the archway of the kitchen, still dressed in their pajamas, staring at him with blank, dead like eyes. Leon held out his right hand, an awful feeling going through his body, "(Name)? You okay, is something wrong?", then he saw it. In their hand was a thin small box cutter. Leon glanced at it then back at their face, "Dearest, where did you get that? How about you give that here, huh?", he toed his way slowly over towards them, "You don't need that."

Just as he got close enough to touch their wrist, (Name) swung the box cutter at him. Leon's trained reflexes kicked in and he grabbed their wrist, stopping them from taking his eye out. He twisted their wrist, making them drop their weapon with a cry of pain that hurt his heart. The agent picked up his struggling partner and carried them to their bedroom, Leon's partner struggling and yelling the entire time, "I hate you! I hate you! I. Hate. You!"

He sighed, placing them on the bed. Before they could do anything, he took two pairs of softly padded cuffs and cuffed each of their wrists to one side of the headboard. Leon sat down beside his Dearest and rubbed his knuckles against their cheek. Quickly moving away as (Name) snapped and gnashed their teeth near his hand, "Maybe an hour of two locked in here will calm you down.", they kicked and screamed as he stood up and left, closing the door behind them.

WHY IS POST PLUS/POST+ SO BAD?

Tumblr’s primary focus is on FAN content (whether any of us want to admit it or not). Putting these kinds of contents behind patreon like paywalls is a terrible idea and the legality is NOT in the user or their subscribers favor. You can absolutely get in legal trouble for what tumblr is proposing with this new feature. There’s also the worry about the site’s (poor) security and access to Post Plus users bank information. Do you really want a site that lacks a functioning search function and whose userbase routinely get hacked to have your credit card information? No, you really don’t.

WILL THIS WORK?

Maybe, maybe not. It’s an attempt at doing something to combat tumblr’s impending self-inflicted demise.
