i don't know if i could make a good tutorial so what i can say is that references are ur BESTEST friend— via pinterest or just any image search engine

i do have these below as examples of how i draw locs, if that's anything.. ^_^ it's best to think of them as simple shapes, and then just adding more details and textures from there

Hi! I was just wondering, how would you go about drawing super curly/coiled hair, like african american hair, in the Arcana style? I've been personally trying to do a mixture of Portia and Asra's hair, but it just isn't looking quite right.

One of the biggest shames about the Arcana is that there aren’t any examples of afro hair in the style. Referencing Portia and Asra’s hair, especially for the curls inside their hair is a good idea.

The way I went about trying to think about it was taking the shapes of Tasya’s hair, making it smaller and tighter, and removing the sharp ends with the same curled edges. Also, from photo reference, coiled hair doesn’t “shine” in the same way as curls, so I tried to downplay the highlights you see in Asra/Portia/Tasya’s hair
