There was a spectacular sunset tonight, and I think I got lucky with this shot. There is always beauty to be found. We just have to be mindful enough to notice it. (at Lake Nipissing) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bwdg6EihDhYUQSfk4ZdN5nI4c3Y1h5sscoqQao0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=7wluatxyc52
I'm a work in progress these days. Maybe all days. And if so, I'm ok with that. Just wanted to share this pic, to let those who love and support me know that I'm trying, and to let anyone else who is struggling know that they aren't alone. #mentalhealth https://www.instagram.com/p/B3GSRVuBGp4/?igshid=19xku8pnp969b

So it's the end of the year, and as everyone's feeds flood with gratitude and year end or new year resolution posts, my contribution is my 2019 Good Things Jar. I've been filling one of these jars each year for a couple of years now. I'm not as good at tracking all of the good things as I would like to be. But this post and the exercise itself isn't about beating myself up. Exactly the opposite, actually. When I think about something worth noting that happens to me, whether a once in a lifetime occasion or a moment of daily trivia that just hits me, I do my best to write it down and stuff it in the jar. Reading through these little notes is awesome for reflection for me. For helping me get some much needed perspective, when I'm writing the notes, and when I take the time to look back. So I'll keep doing these jars. I would encourage anyone who hasn't done something like this to try it out, or something else like it. It helps. We can all too easily get caught up in the things that stress us, that we consider our failures, our losses, and lose sight of the beauty, the small victories. The things that make it worth it. #perspective #practicinggratitude #jarsformentalhealth #sothatwas2019 https://www.instagram.com/p/B6w1JbbhkSN3DycwpUcxAVqYK4NlkUqtxYWxgs0/?igshid=swg0yactkzkq

So I put on my thinking toque and have been googling what the deal is with the Twelve Days of Christmas. Not being a christian, I honestly didn't know what they were. I am much more familiar with the best version of the song about them as done by Bob & Doug McKenzie. My advice is to stay away from researching the meaning of the original song, btw. Turns out there are some angry people with soap boxes on the internet who like to argue over the meaning of things. Who knew? 🤷♂️ And Bob & Doug's explanation is way funnier anyways: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DTwLqR071M I bring this all up because my own 12 days of xmas are going to run starting tomorrow until xmas day. Because I say so. And my gift to you for each of the next 12 days will be a new xmas-ish pun or joke, designed to make you laugh, smile, or at least groan a little. Because some people have a hard time with this season, for lots of different and equally valid reasons. Myself included. My hope is that this helps, even if in some small way. #12daysofxmaspuns #12daysofxmasjokes #mentalhealthawareness #lookafteryourselfovertheholidays #day1istomorrow https://www.instagram.com/p/B6BZI_shg4jiN_Humw9wf4it4FW1JR-3HVv7Cc0/?igshid=x7ngk6l67mqv

Random diner dinner in TO tonight. Braised beef eggs benny and a chocolate shake. Ridiculously good. #Frans And, what's playing on the speakers during dinner? Rick Astley. I can't go anywhere without getting rickrolled anymore.
Ever since I first saw Endgame, I recognized the depth in Thor's story that maybe some who don't battle mental (or chronic) illness wouldn't. No matter what you're dealing with, or how much you struggle: You are still worthy. Nice to see a counselor agrees with me: https://www.whereyouarecounseling.com/blog/2019/9/13/what-thor-taught-us-about-depression-and-self-worth #youareworthy #depression #chronicillness #chronicillnessmemes #depressionmemesarethebest https://www.instagram.com/p/CKRL22vBwDEWYZ0d8izUOWwSuc6fQSCNkYB8R80/?igshid=1e74ihz7w0g4i
