It's my first time drawing Taranza and I made him cry
because autism looks like a lot of different things and clearly no one else is gonna do it so if I want autistic headcanons of someone that’s not a stereotype I’ve gotta do it myself
okay so here’s to chuuya
- special interest in wine and the culture around it. knows all of the history. will absolutely talk your ear off about it if you get him going. the unique set of social rules only applicable in the context of wine fascinates him. he collects wine because of his special interest and has detailed lists of the names and dates of each bottle he owns.
- doesn’t understand or care at all about the gender constructs you keep trying to apply to him. they’re irrelevant to him and he doesn’t really get it.
- he’s right-handed and stims with his left hand while he writes by playing with his hair. keeping his hair longer on one side gives him different lengths to play with
- doesn’t understand why you think his haircut looks “dumb” its functional and he thinks it looks really cool
- loves hats. fucking loves them. a fave stim. the boy can hardly function without the sensation of a hat on his head
- different hats for different stims. different textures, fabrics, some makes quiet sounds when he plays with them. he likes to sit in bed and twirl them on his finger.
- bright flashy colours are overstimming to him. he can’t look at elise on days that mori has dressed her in them. kouyou used to check her kimonos with him before buying them to make sure he’d be okay.
- speaking of kouyou, he’d hide in her sleeves when he’d get overwhelmed as a kid.
- he wears his oversized jacket like that because it’s heavy and he Loves The Pressure
- he’s the pressure stimming champion okay. any blanket is a weighted blanket when you manipulate gravity at will
I’ve almost certainly got more but this is getting long. anyways, autistic chuuya. thank u, have a nice day.
Writing a chapter for a fic you haven't touched in like a year feels a lot like reviving the dead. Like what did it do when it was last alive? How can I continue it's consciousness and story?
I'm gonna say it.
It's unhinged to assume that someone's taste in fiction equates to what they believe is moral or good, or is something they want to see or experience in real life.
That is a bonkers assumption to make.
I'm tired of humoring people with long arguments about it when the simple fact is it is a totally fucking absurd reach to accuse someone who enjoys something in fiction of being in favor of it in real life.
I'm tired of pretending like this is a legitimate position to hold-- that they should be afraid of fiction's dire influence on a reader's moral decay or that it's a sign of what the author secretly wants for realsies in real life.

when my kindergarten teacher would tell us about a rhombus she was very insistent on the fact that a diamond and a rhombus were two very different things and I thought that was the stupidest thing in the world but I didn't say anything and to this day I've never seen it used again
