Broadway BOK actors throughout the years. Did this one I believe in May of 2022.
here's a babkak from my sketchbook!
the sketch is from a comic that i won't be posting BUT i like how he looks and i haven't fed you guys any aladdin art in a while so here's a lil something to hold you over
Babkak in the marketplace. Supposed to be set during Babkak Omar Aladdin Kassim, as shown by the drum.
Babkak Omar Aladdin Kassim is tied with High Adventure for my favorite song in the show, with the former just slightly taking the lead lately. It's so much freaking fun, really gives you the feeling that the Marketplace is a chaotic and bustling spot. And the guys doing their dances all together is such a great time, there's so much to look at on stage.
I decided to include one of my favorite props: what I have dubbed "The Jewelry Pole".
Dimetro doodle request for @samissimo
Love this little guy! My starter the first time I ever played Champions when it first came out. Drawing this guy has pretty much convinced me to play it again, as I just recently finished replaying the original and have been thinking about Champions ever since. I've replayed it a bunch, but can't remember the minutia of the story. (Like I remember the overall main events and it's so great but if you were to be like "tell me the entire plot of fossil fighters champions" idk if i could do it). So I think it's time.
3-page limited palette comic about my lifelong love of dinosaurs, featuring some Fossil Fighters doodles at the bottom of the second page.
Fossil Fighters and Fossil Fighters Champions remain two of my favorite games ever (Carchar is probably my favorite vivosaur)
fancy hat dude from that one game that came out like a year ago (old art)
A look inside my Aladdin Broadway display case. I've got a lot of memorabilia I've collected over the years. Some of my favorites include:
the original souvenir program (2nd photo)
a copy of the script (3rd photo)
bread prop (3rd photo)
the heart-shaped box of baklava prop (4th photo)
More info is in the image descriptions. Feel free to ask me questions about items in my collection if you'd like to know more about them!
i saw spamalot on broadway this past weekend and GUYS it was so good!! i laughed so hard i had tears running down my face, and i loved all the characters so much. here's sir galahad!!
another aladdin sketchbook doodle. this one is from right before high adventure starts where Omar is convincing Kassim that they need to save Al
i've got a little bit more time on my hands lately so I'm trying to do more sketchbook stuff, and drawing these guys is always fun. I've drawn them so long it comes naturally at this point
wonderful commission of my boy by my wonderful friend!!! look how good he looks!!
Commission for my pal Han
First, I'm sorry to hear about your tablet. I can only hope it goes well with finding a new one later down the line.
Second, for a potential Aladdin broadway idea, how about drawing Aladdin and his friends as children? Or maybe Aladdin as a boy and with your interpretation of his mom? What do you think?
Thank you! i've been doing some research for which one to get as a replacement. my old one i had probably close to 10 years now and was one of the more basic ones (it's a wacom bamboo) so I'm going to be getting a more professional grade one! end of an era i suppose.
i love the idea of BOAK as kids (may do that another time), but I chose to depict little Al and his mom. I imagine she was strikingly beautiful, and had curly hair like Aladdin does. I referenced some of the marketplace outfits worn by the ladies in the show for her dress. with her being a mom, i made her outfit a little more modest, so her stomach would be fully covered.
(i rarely draw ladies so this was fun!)
