okay storytime:
when I was about 10, my little sister was about 7. I had just learned about the placebo effect in school.
for anyone who doesn't know, the placebo effect basically means that if you believe something is true, particularly in regards to your body, your body will reflect it. an extreme case of this is that lady who thought she was pregnant and got a swollen belly, but she wasn't and never was pregnant. a less extreme example is some people in clinical trials are given sugar pills and show improvement in whatever the pill was meant to help with just because they think they're taking the medication.
back to my story: I was 10 years old, I had just learned about the placebo effect, and my little sister would not shut the *fuck* up about her head hurting. so naturally, I lied my ass off and told her that there's a pressure point where if you squeeze your pinky finger it makes pain stop. she tried it and was like "oh my gosh it works!! thank you!!!" and i was like "thank fucking god i don't have to hear your voice anymore" because thats just how sisters are.
flash forward almost 10 years and i completely forgot about this incident until i overheard her telling her friend this trick because her friend hurt her knee or something and I just started laughing my ass off because I guess she just believed me this whole time and was telling other people this miracle cure and I finally broke the news to her and I will NEVER forget the look of betrayal on her face.
anyway I guess this is how misinformation starts??
hey say something nice to me

just thought of something, might be complete bullshit but who knows. So lucifer tends to refer to people by their title, right? (Detective, doctor, brother, etc) and I think this kinda represents how he values who you choose to be rather than what you're born as, like how obviously he finds purpose in defying God (as many of us do). And on top of that, he calls people by their names once they're close, and often in intimate settings, similar to how he handles himself, only revealing himself to those he's closest to and avoiding topics relating to hell and his family except with Linda and/or Chloe, literally the people he's closest to in the universe. So basically, titles hold a lot of significance to lucifer.
"I'm very good at forgiveness. It's one of my favorite things."
update! it's worse than I thought. (ss of another post, not a response to mine ftr)
when humans are happy they show each other their bones. they take pride in the appearance of these public bones, and regularly clean them and often attempt to lighten their color. they are also known to strap metal wires to their young's bones to align them in the most aesthetically pleasing way.
characters I relate to and base my personality on but I'm deeply unstable

okay fic concept- magic/sci-fi plot device allows person B to unintentionally view person A's entire life like a movie. everything they've ever said, done, thought, or felt on the line. person A immediately runs away without giving B a chance to react. hurt/comfort ensues. this is a purely self indulgent fic idea and the question is what ship do I write it with bc I can't decide
