Khiluk Now That The Snow And Ice Have Melted And The Summer Season Is Smiling On The Boreal Regions Of

Khiluk Now that the snow and ice have melted and the summer season is smiling on the boreal regions of the world, Spotted Lake in Canada is having its strange annual transformation. Most of the year it looks like a normal endorheic lake, without an outlet and the focus point of the local drainage system. Such lakes are often alkaline, and concentrate dissolved minerals from the surrounding catchment area. As summer warms the north, the water gradually evaporates, leaving craters full of mineralised water and evaporation crusts that have been sacred to the First Peoples and used for therapeutic purposes since time immemorial. The craters change hue as the evaporation proceeds, and diverse mixes of sulphates and phosphates interact producing a series of unique mixtures. There are 365 separate pools, and to the indigenous Okanagan Nation. each one has its unique medicinal power. The lake was acquired for the Nation in 2001 and is now protected. Photographer Darya Kawa stacked (133,000) frames and 147GB worth of data to achieve this. I've been working on this project since 4 days ago. This image takes up to 22 hours of editing and stacking since the amount of data was so massive.

Kawa took almost a quarter million frames (231,000) and i spend unimaginable amount of work over the course of 3 weeks to process and stack all the data which was equivalent to 313 GB.

so international space station astronauts apparently dropped a tool bag during a spacewalk. and if you look outside when the ISS is in your region, you can see it with binoculars

The tool bag is now orbiting our planet just ahead of the ISS with a visual magnitude of around 6, according to EarthSky. That means it is slightly less bright than the ice giant Uranus, the seventh planet from the sun. As a result, the bag  —  officially known as a crew lock bag  —  is slightly too dim to be visible to the unaided eye, but skywatchers should be able to pick it up with binoculars.  To see it for yourself, first find out when you can find spot the space station over the next few months (NASA even has a new app to help you). The bag should be floating two to four minutes ahead of the station. As it descends rapidly, the bag is likely to disintegrate when it reaches an altitude of around 70 miles (113 kilometers) over Earth.
