Jay received his lightning powers from Edna.I originally considered this headcanon jossed with NS6, but we’ve got Zane with his ice powers and no biological parents, so receiving skills from adoptive parents due to their emotional connection has to be possible, right? IDK, I’m not married to this headcanon, but…

I don’t know why it took me so long to think of this…

*More Episode 55 Spoilers*

Consider:

Zane: “I am programmed to obey the law.”

As Nya so eloquently said in the Ninjago Mini-Movie, Secrets of the Blacksmith: “May I remind you that this is private property and trespassing is against Ninjago law paragraph 13 section 2?”

I remember them specifically discussing breaking and entering Ronin’s shop at one point in season 5. And Zane went along with it.


Does this mean he can… I don’t know, suppress his programming? It’s more likely a tiny tiny tiny plot hole, but it got me wondering…

Anyway, thought it might be of interest.

I Roll A Random Encounter…

After several failed attempts to find the series 15 mystery minifigures in various stores, I finally hit the jackpot at Toys ‘R Us. I found an A.F.O.L. (Adult Fan Of Lego) searching through what was apparently the only box in the store, and struck up a conversation. When he heard I was shopping for a specific minifig for my sister’s birthday, he asked which I was looking for, rifled around in his pile a bit, and handed it to me. Seeing as I’d been trying to get my hands on this lego for weeks, well, his generosity meant a lot to me. I would hope that I’d do the same thing in his position, but I can’t honestly say I’m sure I would.

I’m sharing this story with you because of what I took away from this chance encounter: Pay it forward. Think of the world as it is. Then think how the world would be if people were a little bit kinder, a little bit more conscious that we’re all people, that we all struggle.

And yes, these emotions (Strange and alien as they are) were caused by a stranger’s simple kindness and a lego. Play well, my friends.
