I can’t get over how someone who may or may not have the power of energy/life can have a deaths per season rate of like 20%.

new and updated theory on the source of lloyd’s power!

in dragons rising there definitely has been lore dropped here and there but more than anything I find ammunition to power my long winded theory that lloyd’s powers come from his heart, in theoretical and just elemental sense.

doc wyatt has established there isn’t a set explanation (YET) in show, but he did like one of my tweets regarding my claim that Lloyd’s power resonates within the heart and soul.

starting out, lloyd’s power has never been defined. it is hinted by the writers that lloyd has no idea what it is, though what we do know is that it—-

1) can create life and destroy it (the book of elemental powers)

2) draw energy from the elements

3) shield oneself / very powerful in attack

4) does not belong to the source dragon of energy but belongs to the source dragon OF LIFE

5) has some sort of connection with the FSM

and lastly, by LEGO GROUP’s definition.. it’s ENERGY.

energy can have have different meanings. energy in lightning’s case seems to be the electrical sense, but energy can .. power up things, it makes things work -

energy is also used as a synonym for life force, this is demonstrated when referring to the act of draining source dragons and the whack-rats.

what i am getting at, is I believe that energy in the sense of lloyd’s powers is that he holds the essence of life itself. his power works hand in hand in his survival as well as keeps him alive.

now to connect him to LIFE , a source dragon, was very interesting but made a great deal of sense. Life is in everything, energy can create life.. who created life?

THE FSM used elemental powers to bring Garmadon and Wu into existence, he also holds the ability that past his death, he could steal lloyd from the mortal world to speak to him in the grasslands.

the elements of creation can be drawn from in their energy for lloyd, but the elements of creation were the core four.

LIFE = Lightning, Ice, Fire, Earth

so….

that also makes sense as to when he was dying in mystake’s tea shop that they had to use their elemental powers of creation to revive lloyd or heal him.

now jumping into the theory that will always be my favorite, and the show itself actually jumped into it was elemental powers being felt or drawn from different places depending on the elemental powers, ie nya with veins, zane with his mind, etc etc etc—

lloyd’s power comes from his heart in my opinion.

firstly, life—- energy is what makes the heart beat, you cannot live without that.

mentally, lloyds power has always been his true self, his heart, the way he cares so deeply for people (even if they do not deserve so)

green in spirituality also represents the heart chakra, it is very similar in description.

but as someone so close to his mortality, and who i believe is always aware of such, it makes so much sense.

in s8, when his element is fighting for him as he’s succumbing to his wounds in the fight in krytparium it sparks on his chest,

following this— the elemental master figures that were released in the SOG wave depicted different elements and where they were located differed on the ninja, lloyds was insanely insanely obvious—

overdrawing from his element has caused him great sickness multiple times. we see this with golden power, then we see this with him fainting while using his element against griefbringer in MOTM (something very opposite to his element— death)

the fact that his power kept him alive but also left him for a bit after he almost was on the brink of dying in s8

now with dragons rising and the conduit putting him in a semi coma for several days because of his mortality

he puts his hand on his heart when he approaches the imperium source dragon when saying “this place, i feel weird”

him believing he’d die from conduit power…

it’s justttt…

but that being said there is so much they could discuss about lloyd in show, whether discovering his powers, or seeing the actual scope of what they do

lloyd is very hesitant and he out of anyone never talks about his powers or how they work

but there’s so much there, like what if his elemental power could heal people or bring people back to life (other than himself LOL)

PART 2 IS OUT IN SEPTEMBER?????

I regret staying up until stupid o’clock to watch ninjago dragons rising season 3.

I've thought about this way too much so I think I'll just dump every single intelligent thought I've had in my life here. There's three main ideas that I have regarding this and you could really just pick and choose the ones you agree with most, choose one that makes the most sense, or say that they all happen at the same time. I'm just a rando on the internet. You don't have to pick up what I'm putting down.

Okay, first things first, the most obvious answer is that there's probably just been a whole lot of chaos going on since the Calamity first emerged 100 years before the events of BOTW and far beyond TOTK. The entire kingdom was decimated by the Calamity and most of Hyrule wasn't able to properly rebuild until the end of BOTW when Calamity Ganon's influence was sealed/destroyed. During this time, I'm pretty sure most people either thought Zelda was dead (don't trust me on this, I don't really remember for sure) or knew that she'd sealed herself inside Hyrule Castle but at that point, there isn't much they can do to recover her. Formalizing her title as a queen probably wasn't their priority or even much of a possibility until she returned. And that brings me to my second point.

So not only was it kind of impossible or at least not worth it to change Zelda's title during the Calamity but I also think there would have been bigger priorities after she returned. This is probably the closest to your theory, in which there's just been so much going on between BOTW and TOTK that no one's really been that concerned with Zelda becoming the official queen. In this new post-Calamity Hyrule, it's very likely that people just accept Zelda as some sort of a leader figure regardless of her title not only because she's the last of the living royal bloodline but she also basically saved them all by sealing Ganon. Between that level of respect and the fact that there's so much rebuilding and healing to do across Hyrule, I think it makes sense that everyone's got enough on their plates right now without dealing with authority figure dilemmas.

The last point is probably the most important one to me and it's that Zelda probably doesn't want to be so tied up in royalty and titles anymore. We can see in the flashbacks in BOTW that she clearly grew up her entire life not being given a choice in accepting her predestined fate. This fate essentially had two facets: being the next Princess Zelda in a long, long, long, line of descendants of the goddess, and being able to seal the Calamity Ganon. It isn't too much of a stretch to assume that she sees those two things as very tightly connected traumas. And after sealing Ganon, she's free. She is heavily implied in TOTK to be living as normal of a life as possible in Hateno. For the first time in her life, she has the freedom to be whoever she wants to be and do whatever she wants to do.

So yeah, I'd like to think that Zelda chooses to keep her old title not out of fear of responsibility but simply out of respect for the past and also chooses not to be Hyrule's queen because she knows that Hyrule is different now. She's changed and grown as a character and her role in leading Hyrule has also grown as the people she leads have changed over the 100 years she was stuck in Hyrule Castle. She will forever be 'Princess Zelda' to some people and 'just Zelda' to others and I think it's beautiful that she gets that second choice to live her life the way she wants to live it.

can anyone who knows the lore better tell me why (at least in the botw/totk era) princess zelda is still princess when technically she should be queen since king rhoam's death or does the ascension of royalty in this universe's monarchy different i'm genuinely curious

(i mean, i suppose, the events of botw and then totk might have been the reason why she isn't queen yet)

(also, on a completely different note, tell me why i saw someone on twt say that, and i quote, "link canon wise is christian")

Cue the manic hyperfixation tomorrow after my fricking math test in which I write like 5k of madness in an hour. I fucking love the internet. Holy shit I am gonna show up to that math test sleep deprived as fuck.

Hear me out. What if at some point during the Chain's adventures they come across their past selves WHILE in the middle of their own quests. Like (example) they walk into Wild's era and he's there fighting his first lynel. And now you can either choose the angst or crack path.

Angst: This is Wild like two weeks after waking up in the Shrine of Resurrection. He is fighting this lynel with the same amount of finesse that I did. As in he is losing. Badly. So they either send in one or multiple or maybe they YOLO it and it's the entire gang. They get past Wild back up on his feet, maybe give him a weapon that won't break after like 5 hits, and help him out. Then they go back and present Wild is like 'yeah that happened but I'm better now' or something. Yeah.

Crack: On the other hand, you could also go full speedrunner Wild mode and write him absolutely destroying this lynel. Like this poor thing has no chance against the physics-defying and mindbogglingly unpredictable Wild. This kind of situation is the reason why you can't spell the word "bewildering" without 'Wild' and he fucking owns it. Fuck it, maybe past and present Wild even team up and briefly break the universe via accidental glitch. Yup.

So yeah, this would happen for the entire Chain, ideally. I'll probably write this at some point. Maybe. Who knows. I just thought this up while studying for a math test and it's way too late at night for me to be functioning properly so yeah.
