I dreamed that, even though I'm not on testosterone, I grew facial hair along my cheeks and jaw. I was going to visit family and I'm not out to them, so my mother insisted that I shave. Even after I shaved, there was dense, white blonde hair along my sideburns, like the feathers of a baby chick.
You may have noticed that parts of this painting are done in different styles/with different techniques. This hand is painted similarly to a “grisaille,” base shadows painted with color built up in thin layers of glaze.
The Artistic Process
I’m here, I’m queer, and I’m gonna put my little gay hands all over everything.
Also, here’s an interview of me by Devon Douglas-Bowers of the Hampton Institute

I rarely reblog my own posts unless there's a specific update, but that means I'm also not very good at promoting where you can actually purchase my art!
You can get three digital (PDF) versions of my comics, "Queer Code," "Emet," and "Seven Hundred and Seventy Eight Days," and two SECRET EXTRA COMICS here: LINK
(The secret extra comics are the "R. J. Hill: Therapist" comics and the "Naruto: The Last King, The Last Priest" comic.)
"Queer Code," "Emet," and "Seven Hundred and Seventy Eight Days" are available as individual PDFs.
"Act Well Your Part" and "Emet" are available in print.
I have a limited number of my risograph illustration collections "Slap Your Cheeks for Color" and "Step Out Into Your Short Shorts."
Currently, I don't sell prints of my paintings because -- in all honestly -- there's been little demand for them, even when they were available through a print on demand website. If enough people express serious interest in prints, I'd consider trying again in the future.
I'm also thinking of creating color covers for print versions of "Queer Code" and "Seven Hundred and Seventy Eight Days," but that's kind of a back-burner idea at the moment.

It’s here!
“Emet,” my 12 page, full color comic will debut at @shortrunseattle on November 5th!
It’ll be available on my etsy store after Short Run.
(and before anyone goes “Women don’t wear tefillin!”, the gendered usage of tefillin varies based on the form of Judaism. The majority of Orthodox Jews feel that women should not/do not need to don tefillin, most Conservative Jews hold this view as well, although there is a growing movement of Conservative Jewish women who don tefillin. Opinions among Reform Jews vary from “Women don’t need to/should not don tefillin,” to “If that’s how you practice your faith, that’s great!” to “Why are you asking me? I don’t care.”)

@hogue-e-roll: Are you going to comicon next month?
Sadly, no. I’ll be drowning under my quarter finals at that time. But... uh... keep an eye out for the March 1st issue of the Seattle Weekly.
A friend texted this to me "In my dream last night you were in this enormous cardboard Halloween costume that made you look like a section of wall cut out of a retail store. You rolled around while children picked items off your outfit." What a good dream about me.
Hey, is there any chance you'll be restocking 778 Days? I wanted to grab a copy when I got paid but now it's showing sold out.
Yes! I just restocked 778 Days and Therapist R. J. Hill. (ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧
