Howdy! I’m still alive.

I’m fortunate, in that my day job is being done remotely, but it’s a very difficult change and I really don’t like it, so the stress has been getting to me. I was invited to be part of a really cool thing but it may have completely fallen through due to the stay at home order, I have no idea, so that kind of kneecapped my motivation, art-wise.

Hard copy version of my comics aren’t in my etsy store at the moment, as I’d been sneakily printing them on the printers at my office and I don’t have a printer at home. PDF versions are still up for sale.

At this time, I struggle to see the point of making art that doesn’t “do something.” Here are two tapestries I’ve made (I’m working on getting the edges even and reducing the amount of hour-glassing before I go totally nuts and invest in a rigid heddle loom) and some socks I darned for my boyfriend.

This tapestry has been worked on almost entirely while riding the bus.

It’ll be a hamsa, eventually.

grad school has helped me level up my procrastination skills

while avoiding reading and homework, I taught myself how to use Sculptris and created a bust of a character for a huge sprawling comic that may never actually happen!

I’m pretty pleased, what with this being my first sculpt and all.

1. Kids! Don’t smoke! Do as I say and not as I do.

2. Because I intend to become a therapist, I want to maintain some distance between my artwork and my future career. If you know me in real life, I ask that you respect that.

3. This tumblr is flagged as NSFW (hello underage tumblr bloggers, I see you, please stop that) but I will be moving any sexually explicit artwork and/or artwork involving bodily harm to a separate blog. That said, I do a fair amount of artwork involving nude figures and body horror imagery. Nonsexual, non blood-and-guts nudes and body horror images WILL STAY ON THIS BLOG. I try to tag pretty comprehensively, but let me know if I miss something.

I'd forgotten how much I enjoy doing these random geometric scribbles. They allow me to be obsessive-compulsive but in a very soothing manner.
